The standard of driving on UK roads now is the worst I have ever seen in my 44 years of driving. These days drink driving aside for a moment. Most drivers place the act of driving well into the back of their minds and are either on their phones or thinking about social media or whatever , anything apart from driving where as driving should be the main thing they are focused on! I seriously wonder why cars are still made with mirrors and indicators as hardly anyone uses them!
I remember when driving used to be a pleasure with most people driving with care and attention. These days it seems like you’re taking your life in your own hands just driving to the shops

I do roughly around 50,000 miles a year in a work's vehicle all over the country, plus another 5000 or more privately. I have been driving for almost 40 years, there's definitely a lack of pride in one's driving skills. I'm not letting myself off the hook as i like others make mistakes, but I'll put my hands up and admit it.
The cops have abandoned the streets with fewer and fewer traffic patrols.What do you expect when people's bad driving habits go unchecked.Its a national disgrace.

As a Professional Commercial HGV driver for over 20 years it never surprises me the behaviour of other road users and on many occasions I find myself backing off when other drivers are in the wrong to avoid an accident
When I was growing up you only see dash cams in police cars. It's great that they've become widely available. They've definitely proven their worth 👍

Speeding violation tripled because of all of those 20 miles per hour. Got my dad and a friend, who are very safe drives going around 25.
Driving too close and looking at smart phones is the modern curse.

In my experience most of the bad driving I’ve encountered on the roads is more often than not, someone with a dash-cam fitted! Even when I watch dash-cam footage on here, I’m thinking to myself “I would’ve slowed down way before that” or “I saw that coming” etc.
