Great, great pleasure to listen to!
This piece is incredible.
Thank you, Franz Schubert, and thank you, Stradivari Quartet, for letting us remember that life can be beautiful. All best!
Schubert at his best, in a wonderful performance. Bravo!
Wow amazing performance of quite possibly one of the greatest pieces ever written!
Thank you very much for posting this.... cant get over this performance and exacution of this string quartet of Schubert....in my humble opinion the best ever heard...reminds me of a recording I heard years ago also sublimely played by the Emerson String Quartet....for ever grateful!!! 🙏
If I ever got a tattoo, it would three numbers: 887
indeed the best performance
Without any hesitation, yes, the best
Unreal masterpiece!
Franz Schubert ci teneva tanto a incontrare Beethoven..... Nella vita non ci riuscì mai! Ma in questo "Primo Movimento", le loro "Anime" sì che s'incontrarono!
I wonder if Schubert subcontracted the composition of this work to Beethoven. It could easily be the sixth late quartet. magnificent playing.
Bravo!! 👏👏👏
Much as I have listened to this quartet I find it so unsettling, full of anger, dejection but unhealthily compelling. It is art at its greatest but is it something you would want to share? No Beethoven munificence, little Schubertian sunshine . Little consolation. Deep but almost soulless.
How about the heavenly theme (which first appears at :42)?
I would say it's very soulful, painfully aware of human mortality, but choosing to express transcendent beauty through his consummate musical art.
What do you mean "soulless"? Doesn't make sense!
This piece in particular?
Seelenlos??
