    I had a whal slicker brush I used on my golden doodle. Then I bought the Chris Christensen coral- wow! I am a new groomer but the coral brush is worth every penny IMO.

    The “splines” are curved because they were designed to pick up hair and straighten it out BUT was never supposed to touch the skin… that’s what I was taught by the professionals I learned from… I’ve been grooming for 64 years and learned from the best… just my humble opinion…equipment is everything♥️I have a Greyhound comb I’ve had for about 40 years ( so far)… it’s my fav… thank you for this video♥️🙋‍♀️‼️🐾🐾🥰☮️

    I bought myself a Kenchii slicker brush for my goldendoodle after watching this demo of brushes. I just got it today and am so excited!!! It works beautifully!! It was so much fun brushing my dog with this brush as opposed to the cheap slicker brush I've been using for years. It easily worked through his tangles and checking with my comb I found no tangles left behind. I can't believe what a difference a good brush makes. Thank you again for all the terrific advice and tips you share. This brush is awesome!!

    Thanks for the demo and comparison! I have the Kenchii and love it (however the handle is kind of loose and needs to be glued). I also have the CC brush but the black one, where the pins are spread further apart. I recently got the ActiVet FlexIt brush - the gold/green duo - and it was amazing at getting matts out of my dogs long-haired tail! They advertise the gold side for removing undercoat and the green side for finishing... I'm not sure what the difference is between each side, but I think the green side has slightly longer pins. I really like how they are not sharp on the ends, too, so I'm less likely to damage skin if I press too hard by accident. Still love the Kenchii... just need to glue that handle so it's not wiggling around.

    I have a cockapoo who is just over a year old. I wish I had seen this earlier. At 10 months he had to be shaved because I didn't have the right tools. Saw a video with you and this brush and bought it. Now can so much more easily take care of him and feel confident that when we allow his hair to grow out more (autumn) that he won't mat. Thank you!!!

    This is helpful to me. I have a Bernadoodle 9 month old puppy that hates to be brushed. I've been trying to figure out what woild work best on her coat. I just found my old brush similar to the kensey brush 2 days ago and used it on her. I felt it worked pretty good. I had been coming her nut I know she has an underlayment like the Berners have that needs to vome oit. I also bought some clippers, as soon as the weather warms enough she be getting her 1st cut with clippers. I used sissors last time to take down the length. Only took me 3 days 😨😂😂. She's hates her front legs done and her feet. I try to work on her when she s tired .

    Yours is a doodle and not a poodle? My doodle is a F2B but has more wispy hair than tightly coiled so I don’t need those expensive brushes. I rotate between a cheap rake brush, pin brush and comb. Was wondering what rake you recommend? For some reason the slickers remove the least amount of dead hair.

    • @GoGroomer
      @GoGroomer  4 роки тому

      The Slicker brush is crucial to removing dead hair. If you are not getting dead hair in the brush, then I suggest getting a better slicker brush. Kenchii slicker brush is my choice for a doodle.

    • @jenmontzingo
      @jenmontzingo 4 роки тому

      Go Groomer Okay. His fur is much more like a westie. I get a lot of hair with a rake brush or pin brush and my groomer has only had to remove one mat in a year and a half because I brush him daily. I’ve never had to go short. I just meant I don’t usually get a ton of hair with the slicker but I can try that one if it’s affordable.

    What brush do you recommend for a very long double coated american akita? I have a comb , a "rake" , and a large slicker brush(and a few demating tools) but the bristles are short and it take me FOREVER to brush him and doesn't really seem to go deep enough exept if I separate the hair line one by one thin layers and brush directly at the root ? That take multiple hours a day to get the job done 😵 Would the longer bristle ones be appropriate for that type of fur?
