Yeah... Only, I sleep in a hammock, not on a mattress. It's more comfortable than a mattress, takes up less space, weighs less than a mattress and I fall asleep faster than on a mattress. Also, if you lay in it right, no back pain, as opposed to an overpriced pad of insulation that absorbs all my sweat and grime in the hot summer evenings. Yep, a hammock offers cooler sleep in hot weather. Overall, a smarter and healthier move, in my book.
Did I mention the lower resources involved in hammock manufacturing as opposed to mattresses? Economically, it makes more sense, too. Break down how much a mattress costs over how many years compared to a hammock and replacing worn out hammocks over the same time period. There is a reason why a large portion of the world sleeps in hammocks especially in the favelas in South America: it's cheap, comfortable, it's cool in the hot weather and it's not too difficult to move it when space is limited.
If you think back problems are in your future if you sleep in a hammock: you're not sleeping in it right. Sleeping in it diagonally will flatten out the curve that puts pressure on the lower back. I will point out that I am only talking about gather hammocks it's not those hammocks with bars on either end, pushing the hammock open.

@@Mr.BobsDog there are wall hooks for hammocks, but I usually set mine up between two trees in the yard. Outside air is cleaner than inside air, was my justification at the time (as I kept waking up high A.F. on opiates... A habit I do not partake in and have zero interest in. My brother's compulsive opiate smoking in his room has led to me preferring to sleep outside, than wake up high on opiates. Its a miniscule house and I am apparently pretty sensitive to it).

Speaking of mattresses. My sister found out the hard way. She bought some budget brand of mattress, that I never even heard of. Even though the tags said "Made in USA", didn't mean it was quality. After only a few months, it dipped in the middle, and she was frequently visiting the chiropractors office. So upon her chiropractor's direction, she went and replaced her mattress with a quality mattress. I forget exactly what brand. It was either Sealy or Serta. As for now, she's no longer needing her weekly chiropractor visit.

Mattresses & boots, if you're not in one, you're in the other. Quality wisdom without a doubt. But I cannot help but chuckle hearing from you since I've seen a number of your videos where you're barefoot lol.

People called me crazy for buying a 500$ pair of Danner fire boots... 10 years ago. They sucked to break in, blisters like crazy, but after about a month it was fine. Now they're more comfortable then any regular shoe I've ever worn. I've put em through hell, and worn them daily. Only thing that's went wrong is a broken lace tooth, and a loop on the back of one.

I’ve always had a good pair of Whites Fire boots. They’re very comfortable. Expensive but make long days on your feet a lot less painful.

Don’t forget to wash the exterior of boots with saddle soap and a horse hair brush you can wipe off excess with a lint free cloth and then leave em in a well ventilated area to sit dry for 24 or longer hrs before applying any leather products to the boots

I kept a pair of red wings through 9 seasons (starting when I was 15) Granted, some seasons were slow. But regardless, it was cleaning, neatsfoot oil, and sno seal. I resoled them in year 7. I still have them, but bought a new pair of a newer version of red wings because my forefoot loves space .
I became a professional city firefighter when I was 24. Lost my job because of Jay inslee.
I love firefighting boots. No insulation. I have worked in freezing conditions and still have plenty of warmth.

I use Obenauf's LP on my work boots as well. The stuff works great! I work offshore and it makes my boots last way longer when exposed to the harsh chemicals and hydraulic fluid we use.
