Got a chance to drive the C43 AMG yesterday AMG driving performance at C&C cheras.. damn I love the engine better than the 45 series
Ordered mine with the open pore black ash wood trim, the gloss black gets scratched very easily
This car is pretty interesting cause 3 litre and all wheel drive in an amg, quite interesting and it kinda reminds me of my first car. The cars sound was so intoxicating throughout the video but the transmission lag is so funny. Hope you get a c63 to compare them.
Bobby, if u like the jerk forward movement on the C43, install a throttle booster on your s4 and switch to red mode. It will have the same effect. Tried and tested :)

Erong. New E53 is an in line 6 with electric assistance and one turbo. A completely different engine to the c43's V6 biturbo

The jerking of the transmission looks more like a touch point and clutch capacity setting of the dual clutch transmission. Had that on my R35 GTR in the beginning but after some settings on TP and CC it’s gone. Hopefully MB come up with newer transmission firmware update to address this so save the clutches. Btw love your reviews. Cheers.
+Jonathan Huang thanks mate. After driving so many DCTs that shifts seamlessly and smoothly, this car's sport plus mode brutal shifts kinda brings back those feeling of single clutch automated manual shift feeling.... characterful

When i reviewed the G30 530i, i felt it's too accommodating too. Perhaps maybe in your market you can spec some M-Performance exhausts? Have you considered the 640i Gran Turismo? Or maybe buy yourself a used M6 Gran Coupe or a used Porsche Panamera Turbo? Awesome fun. Find an approved pre owned maybe?

On a twisty road, M2 will leave the C43 in dust. Way more precise way more fine tuned, you felt the engineering effort. The C43 is mad, muscle car like, unsorted, unrefined, stupid, ridiculous, big smile. You can go slow and smile in the C43. And of course M2, no one wants to play with you. C43 you debadge the car and you can fuck around with a lot of unsuspecting GTIs.

Is the quad exhaust real?
I have my own definition of real or fake. As long as there are gases coming out, they're real. So yes. But those quad pipes aren't connected to the inner ones, just a housing.
eversince the facelift the whole batch of 43 53 63 63s have fake exhausr tip that doesnt connect to the exhaust... sadly.......

9G Tronic. 7G DCT goes only in the A and B class, in the C class you had a single clutch 7G plus, and from 2017, all of their engines come with the 9G tronic transmission, except for the 63 AMG models(they come with the MCT-7 AMG transmission).

I was a owner of c43. TBH, the transmission of Mercedes is uncomfortable. Comparing with BMW and Porsche pdk, it is not smooth enough. Interior is good but never going to buy Mercedes anymore.
It's not just uncomfortable, put it into sports mode it's barely even usable right? I'm not sure if it's accidental or intentional.
Bobby Ang yeah. No matter what model you are in, s or s+, when you are driving, specially the transmission is switching from 2 to 3, you can feel the car is shaking at that moment. Some ppl like that feeling, but I don’t. BMW and PDK are more smooth and you can barely feel the transmission is switching.
u cant seriously compare porsche pdk with any transmission in this world..thats god made my friend.... porsche would be offended for that....
It only does that jerkiness in Sport+, and only in low speed. The trick to avoiding it is to avoid jabbing the throttle gently whilst driving slowly, or simply manually up-shift immediately when it starts to jerk (it'll still stay in auto). That said, if you press the Traction Control button once, you put it into Sport Handling Mode and it reduces the amount of jerkiness massively. The car behaves and handles soooo much better in Sport Handling Mode, to where I never drive without it engaged. In Sport Handling Mode, you still don't get any wheelspin or skidding, but you gain far better throttle response, handling dynamics and less erratic but still super punchy shifting patterns in low speed.
