Awesome content as always Thomas. I watched this video so many times while I was waiting for my C43 to arrive! I have mine in brilliant blue with the black pack. Makes me smile every day. Such a fun car to vlog with!
Autogefuhl i think your video production has taken your review up another level. Love the clever sped-up addition of the tanker which set the scene and the soundtrack fitted the C class montage nicely. Really enjoyable to watch.
You can get it from aliexpress for 500$ i changed mine on my 2015 cls and also has android and touchscreen it fits so well because has the original form but the black bezels are replaced with screen
Thomas, you are surely the best reviewer on youtube. I'm always impatient to hear you say "And now, in full hd, full screen and full length, let's go !" I know I'm gonna have a great moment. Cheers from France !
Sorry to be offtopic but does anyone know a method to log back into an Instagram account..? I somehow forgot the login password. I would appreciate any assistance you can offer me!
I have discovered your videos in the last week. Your quality is very topical and very informative. I really like the format of your reviews, and to be able to compare your thoughts on every car using the same review process is very helpful. Thank you for your hard work!
The Subaru STI, the new Audi A7, and the RS7 that Thomas has reviewed are my favorites. This will be my 4th favorite video. Well done!! Very informative.
Great review. Thx. Now that diamond grille is gone the car no longer looks girly but more masculine like all good sportcars should look especially for the awesome AMG range.
Thomas, thank you once again for a very comprehensive review in English. Much appreciated from the part of the world I come from (Singapore). Keep up the good work.
Another great review. It is so useful how you cover every aspect of the car. You point out the good points and bad points but leave it up to the viewer to decide if this is the right car for them or not. After watching your review I am sold on the C43..I will be waving goodbye to my CLA45. Thanks 👍
autogefühl really became my favorite go to page for reviews. Especially with Thomas. Very long reviews, with a lot of information and an honest review. Not a BMW fan that likes to discredit Mercedes, nor a Mercedes fan that would keep saying how awesome everything is. Just his honest opinion. And a very good voice as well, some have an annoying voice. But his German accent isn't annoying at all and very clear to understand. I hope you will let him do a review on the new A35 and A45 amg's when they are out for reviews :)
I just recognized that the refresh rate in the digital cockpit is very high compared to all other mercedes even the new CLS 53. You can see it in minute 18:50 when he accelerates. Actually very disappointing that we don't get it in the new E53 and CLS
Don't know, ordered a E53 myself, it will arrive end of this year and I wish the refresh rate would be higher than the one of my current C200. But are you gonna do
Test drove a red C43 today and was very, very impressed. Just wish they hadn't put the AMG badge on it so I could buy it without worrying about snobs telling me it's not a "real" AMG.
Matthew Case I just picked up my ordered c43 coupe on July 1st and absolutely love it. Screw the haters lol. This car is most definitely a true AMG! I used to be one of those folks that didn’t think it was a true AMG because it didn’t have the hand built v8 engine. Then I test drove one...man was I wrong.
i have a 2016 C450 AMG and my lease is coming to a close soon. I was shopping around and still the new C43 has the best interior compared to its competitors. Facelift is subtle but enough that you can notice a difference. Power/Torque are good enough and it feels planted while driving fast. My only gripe with my model is the transmission and the gear changes at low speed. Hope that’s resolved with this new one! I’m leaning towards leasing another C43 so I’m looking fwd to it!
They've refined a few little things, but the older one now becomes a kind of gem, and the huge thing is I liked the sound of the older mapping a bit better too, it was more raw and in your face. Sweet,, thanks new car for making the previous (better one) more accessible =D
I think that Thomas is easily the best car reviewer on the internet and TV. A very good, thorough review on a lovely car from Mercedes - pure class. Like the back of it and I like the front too ! Sorry Thomas lol Many thanks for all your hard work.
Thank you sir about the sound. Lower tone sounds exceptionally good like rs3 that sounds well made rather than the sharp tones they make sounds like after market thing
Just got my 2023...last year for the coupe having the V6 Biturbo. I didn't content it with the adaptive cruise option as I had in my Volvo V60 to save some money. But since I live in a rural area, with no heavy traffic commute, I feel the trade off of some of the electronic safety gizmos, but with more "autogefuhl", was worth it. This vehicle has a "soul." The Volvo was great, but was not a joy to drive like the C43 coupe.
The lane assist will only show that you are drifting if it is not deliberate. If there is deliberate force on the wheel it will take it that you want to steer over the line. If it is accidental such as when you are not physically forcing the wheel in a direction it will show a warning and move the car. This prevents it from becoming annoying to a point where drivers switch it off and instead here it will always remain active (since drivers now won't switch it off because it is not too annoying) and come in handy when it is needed most.
Kepp going guys
Best reviews on the net. Good job autogefuehl! The car is excellent as well. Great to see the power boost over the prior 3L V6 and I love the new steering wheel. Too bad about the diamond pin grill as that was my favorite for AMG's. Keep up the great work!
What an excellent in-depth review of the new C43 AMG. I could do a comparison between my last years model to this new one. Love the new digital screens and the steering wheel with the controls to configure both screens. What stands out for me is the safety of 4 Matic especially here in Australia where it rains on a regular basis. I was amazed what you said about the passenger side dash looking like a poor Porsche dash because I have been holding that thought to myself ever since I drove my new C43 of of the showroom last Year. You are the best car reviewer I have came across Thomas. Big thank you once again Thomas keep up the excellent reviews. Gary - Australia
Awesome review as always. Please do a full review of the new C43 Coupe version!! I really have to decide between the pre-facelift 2018 and the new one!
A. S sorry the reason I said that was because I have a c63s and I always like to spot other c63 models and now I'll have problems doing so where people personalise their number plates
It may be a minor exterior refresh, but I think I finally like this generation of C-Class. I also prefer the way the digital display is framed in this car, the giant wide screen looks cool in the S-Class, but it starts getting weird as you move down the lineup. (huge fan of the W204).
Jon Doe that's because there's a knack to launching the.63 . I can launch mine in around 4.3 secs to 60 consistently . not sure what sort of 0 to 60 times your glc gives you ? it's quite a heavy beast isn't it ?
Darren Nice I actually bought a gla 45 over a c43 in 2016. the c43 is more grown up but I cant see a huge amount of driver enjoyment. the gla was terribly unrefined but was a lot more entertaining. I'd buy a c43 wagon over a glc 43 though. eventually I needed a bigger car and the 43 came back in my crosshairs alongside an rs4. in the end, the c63 was the one that had me grinning from ear to ear after I'd drifted it on the wet circle at mb world in 2016. I was tempted to get a glc 63 and used the glc 43 for a test drive. it's got nothing over a c63 other than a bigger boot and better ride quality over bad roads. i bought a c63s wagon in a heart beat. I can see why people like glcs though but it's just too heavy and not nimble enough for serious enjoyment and cant do what a proper road car can do . my mrs definitely would have preferred I got a glc because she likes the SUV type body style but I think if someone is going to spend 60k on a well specced glc43 , why not spend a few more k and pick up a c63. the ride does soften after a few thousand miles as those steel springs get properly run in. or don't get the performance seats. lastly , a 63 makes you a much better driver. driving around in AWD cars doesn't do much for driving skills lol
@@andyp8464 But the AWD is nicer than rear wheel drive for places that get a lot of snow. I have a 2014 C300 and the AWD is great in the snow that we get here. I'm definitely getting a new C43 once they land in the USA.
Great repo ! 100 points. Just ordered C200 business edition + all available options Polar white with the black sunroof. Now have to wait a few months :-)
Hi Thomas, this C43 is actually my dream car. I had an WRX STi before and I just wish to drive a high performance 4WD car like that again but with automatic transmission plus extra comfort. But I am not a fan of steering column mounted gear selector of recent MB cars.Pity this C43 will cost >120000€ where I live. By the way I noticed you have never mentioned about brake quality such as pedal feel and stopping power for any cars you reviewed. Hope to watch new E53 AMG Coupe test drive from you soon.
I like the taillights in this model over the coupe. In the coupe, much like most SUVs nowadays, the form is broken up by the trunk or lift gate. Functionally, in the US, that piece that sits horizontally but not part of the fender can’t house the real brake or backup lights so manufacturers only add the temporary, non critical light functions to that part.
Very well done, thank you! I drive a BMW 535i Xdrive. My youngest child is leaving for college and I now want a smaller, more powerful car. The C43(coupe) is very appealing but I like very tight steering in Sport mode. This has been a complaint of mine with the 535. Do you think the lack of progressive steering in the C43 is a significant drawback?
New sub from merica..nice review I like your style of video..and nice to see a German performance sedan reviewed in Germany by a German, but who's English is good ..😀🇺🇸😉 I'm getting one of these ..finally stepping up to a Merc!!
Supercharged or turbo? I prefer the earlier MB shaper edged models ahead of these rounded edge ones. Medium sized, the C class used to be the compact with the E being the medium.
Turn off steering assist when assessing steering at speed. It appears to be on. It makes the steering both lite and heavy at seemingly random times as the robot reacts to its sensors.
Hey Thomas... I am not sure why you get the impression that they changed the sound... with the performance exhaust the pre facelift sounds exactly the same =)
Why does this new version still have the old V6 and not the new R6 engine? And the interior still has the same tacked on monitor instead of the new layout of the other Mercedes models.
Head restraints (also called headrests) are an automotive safety feature, attached or integrated into the top of each seat to limit the rearward movement of the adult occupant's head, relative to the torso, in a collision - to prevent or mitigate whiplash or injury to the cervical vertebrae. Both is correct, like chips or fries.
The word 'headrest' is an abbreviation of 'head restraint'. Technically, there should be a full-stop (.) after the word to indicate thus, but is omitted through the evolution of English language. This explains why many think that the main purpose of these items is to 'rest' one's head on - which, incidentally, can provide that function. However, their main purpose, as nordthernlights correctly states, is to limit the effects of inertia on the human body during a collision, acting to 'restrain', or prevent (O.E.D.), the excesses of movement on the head.
Why is autogefhul so good....... cause it’s full HD, Full screen and full length 👍🏼✌🏻love you guys

let’s go

That's how you do a facelift! Distinguishable from the old model but not too much going on, still looks elegant & upscale, well-done Mercedes
yeah but the old ILS looked way better imo

Nuhan Hidayat what facelift? 🤔😉
Distinguishable?! Lol
Nuhan Hidayat Nothing's changed still the same old rubbish it is
Perfect size, most usable engine in the lineup, and a flawless Thomas as usual!
Really like how they made the infotainment screen shorter and wider, looks much better now.

Amazing review. Thanks. I really like that you focus on important stuff, that is how the car drives.

Great review. Thx.
Now that diamond grille is gone the car no longer looks girly but more masculine like all good sportcars should look especially for the awesome AMG range.

This AMG interior looks so much better than M interiors.
Yes, now they only need to become as fast as M cars with the same power output
Random Carguy e63 is faster than m5
Yeah the M interiors looks so boring and use too much plastic.
Plastic? U must be mad? Have u seen lasted BMW Inferiors? They look much nicer than Mercs. but that's probably personal preference.
I was talking about the M4 and below M interiors. They look awful. The new M5 and upwards have great interiors.

great review as always thomas . not too keen on the side profile . cant stop thinking Rover 75 ! ? 😱
It was a smart move to bring the c63 grill down to the c43
True and now the 63 models have the Panamericana grille, helping to separate them apart as the top AMG models.
no it wasn't. still it doesn't have the wide wheel arches like the current 63

Hey Thomas... I am not sure why you get the impression that they changed the sound... with the performance exhaust the pre facelift sounds exactly the same =)
Why does this new version still have the old V6 and not the new R6 engine? And the interior still has the same tacked on monitor instead of the new layout of the other Mercedes models.
because it's not a new model only a facelift..
The E-class was only facelifted too but got the new R6 engines.
no it was a new car...
Not true, the e-class was introduced in 2016 with v6 engines and this year they were replaced with the new r6.
whats the fuel efficiency during 120kmh constant drive?
It's a headrest. Not head restraint. A head restraint is what they strap you with when they torture you.
adilator Haha this gave me a good laugh for some reason.
He is actually correct, it's used to prevent injury to your neck in case of a crash or in case the airbags are deployed.
no he's not correct. don't talk about something you don't know.
