  • If you've ever experienced muscle aches and leg pain along with feelings of anxiety, you're not alone. Anxiety can cause physical symptoms throughout the body, including muscle tension and pain. In this video, we'll explore the connection between anxiety and muscle aches and leg pain.
    Anxiety triggers the body's "fight or flight" response, which causes the muscles to tense up as a way to prepare and run away from danger. This response to perceived danger can cause hyperventilation, which decreases blood flow to the muscles, leading to cramps and leg pain.
    This happens because when we perceive danger, our brains instinctively believe we have to escape immediately. This was all very good when we were living in caves and had the real threat of being attacked by a bear or a tiger, it doesn't always serve us so well nowadays.
    Our brains are now so overstimulated, and they are not able to evolve in a way that keeps up with technology and the stress in our everyday lives.
    In many cases, treating the underlying anxiety and getting to the root cause of it can help alleviate these symptoms. Techniques such as breathing exercises, exercising, spending time in nature, relaxation exercises, and therapy can be effective in reducing anxiety and relieving muscle tension and pain.
    If you're experiencing muscle aches and leg pain along with feelings of anxiety, it's important to speak with a healthcare professional to rule out any underlying medical conditions.
    With the right treatment and support, it's possible to manage anxiety and reduce the physical symptoms that come with it.

      It sounds challenging to experience such intense discomfort and restlessness. Sometimes, physical sensations like burning feet and restlessness can be linked to stress or underlying health conditions. It might be helpful to consult with a healthcare professional to explore these symptoms further and find effective ways to address them. Reach out to us, visit betteryourlife.co.uk/

    Thanks for the video. I was wondering if it was possible to be in the parasympathetic nervous system, be in a calm place, be settled for some time, but still experience these pains and weaknesses?

    • @betteryourlifeanxietyrelief
      @betteryourlifeanxietyrelief  Місяць тому

      These anxious pains should ease when we are in the parasympathetic state, however if you are struggling, try some movement too a walk or a run. There are lots of videos on my channel about how to activate your parasympathetic state, I hope you get some relief 🙏

    Does anxiety cause pain in both big toes that is with you 24/7

    • @betteryourlifeanxietyrelief
      @betteryourlifeanxietyrelief  3 місяці тому +1

      Thank you for your question Mark. Anxiety does not directly cause toe pain. But what anxiety does do is make you more likely to notice pains you may not have noticed otherwise. This is known as hyper-sensitivity or hyper-vigilance, and it affects many people with anxiety. I hope this helps 🙏
