Great video. Couple of suggestions: Use a paint scraper rather than a screwdriver to spread the force of the preasure used less likely to split/crack the card or insert. Fix a crack with a piece of gauze (bandage or those thin sutures strips ) - soak in place with super glue & cover with backing soda - dries very hard like resin (only far cheaper).
Both good tips. I did use a putty knife to help spread out the pressure, which worked well, but with some of the tougher parts to get seated it helped to have the extra stiffness the screwdriver gave. The combo of the two works quite well. Never seen that way of making DIY fiberglass, but I suppose it would work. Interesting - thanks for that
Hi there...i see you have reupholstered the roof/interior too. Looks great....did you have a video on how you did that? Gonna give my doors a go asap after watching this vid....great work!
Thanks! I do not have a video for the headliner. It's pretty straightforward though - a generic video and a copy of the RAVE manual (factory repair manual, easily found on the forums) should get you there.
Good luck! Make sure to get some fabric that's nice and stretchy - helps a lot. If you want a text writeup to go along with the video, I have that as well here - www.landroversonly.com/threads/discovery-03-door-panel-suede-insert-fix.44669/#post-846690

Just picked up a 04 Disco and found your post on LRO. Thanks for uploading this!
Glad you found it helpful. Enjoy your Disco!
I have used JB weld Steel 2 part Epoxy to mend my plastics for the interior of the vehicle. It is much stiffer than the 2-part Clear Plastic epoxy.
