- This Sega Genesis / Megadrive's controller ports wouldn't work. Join us, and discover what the actual point of failure was. Hint: It wasn't a simple reflow.
Thanks to Bennvenn for this correction:
I incorrectly labeled the EMI filters as "mosfets".
However, I didn't want that to distract from the overall purpose of the video.
I love that Mega Drive/Game Gear hook-up so much 👌🏻👏🏻 the perfect pairing 😂
Thanks for taking time out of your day for the feedback!

BreadMan knows, what's up!
Quality stuff, as always 😁
Thanks for letting me know!
I came to watch just like I promised......first off does the game gear tv addon have a input or did u add one? Secondly if seen MOSFETs go bad, third where the hell did u obtain this genesis it's a wreck, sounds like it was run with a very strong electromagnet near it, or perhaps a hotel room with the console sitting on the microwave while in use.....and what an asic solder, u need a award for that one. How long did it take to replace, 5 minutes or 2 hours....u can put it in the oven for a reflow
Heya! Thanks for taking a peek!
1: game gear tv addon comes with an input.
2: i misidentified the efi filters as mosfets (context is the same though)
3: i obtained it from ebay as "for parts" like all the others.
4: thanks! i think i did 5 asic xfers in total for this video. its unfortunate the first xfer didnt go as well as the others.
5: Most of the asic transfers took 15 min each. (desolder and resolder with a hot air station)
Great questions!
