Hi Lynn, great video! I have the same stockpile cabinet. We've had it since 2006. It's now in our garage fully stocked. It's a great cabinet and we used to have the matching table and bar stools.

Our favorite 5 - flour, oil, pasta, sauce, & chocolate 👍 I can combine those ingredients to make a lot of different things. Can wait to see your stock up hauls. Exciting! Thank you in advance for taking us with you ❤

I have heard people say to stack your preps to the rafters and to get as much as you can and that used to make me feel uncomfortable because I get to a point where like many people I ask myself “How much is enough?” To come to a place of peace about prepping I had to think about WHY I am preparing and secondly, HOW LONG am I preparing for. Then I thought about making a list of menus and that kind of keeps me from buying random things just because I have to buy something to put in my pantry. This gives me a loose parameter.
I recently heard about a young person who was having a tough time and I was able to share some food from my pantry. And that was just one of the reasons I have extra food.
    Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

You're right about "how long am I preparing for"...I am 83...why would I need to store food that lasts for 25 years? Sounds to me you have things covered, even being able to share, which is a real blessing.

With mom in a nursing home and it being brother and I living in the same place I've found we go through very little food. Brother works at restaurant that has a buffet line so he often times eats at work. In my case I cook just enough food for light eating for 3 days at a time.

I can totally understand. Where I work depending on the season and the events we two also get food. So sometimes I don’t need to make several meals throughout the week. Then we eat at my mom sometimes and or sometimes just used to eat out. We do it in but even with that things have changed and I don’t need to make as much food. I’m finding myself needing to purchase less and less.

Everything they have is organic yet I want to eat healthier foods. Granted I'm a heavy set person and get made fun of because of it yet I don't eat much. People a fraction of my size I would imagine eat more than I do on any given day maybe not. I guess I want a healthier lifestyle

We keep a case of each of the following beans: red, black, pinto & refried / spaghetti sauce & noodles /canned veggies & spam / tuna / PB&J / 1 set of condiments & pickles & spices. Rice / noodle / instant taters packs.
We "shop" in the stockpile cabinet for staples for dinners & add items back in rotation when we're running low..a little at a time. It does get boring making the same things all the time but spices & salad dressings /marinades spice it up! Love Your channel!

Great video Lynn. My small pantry is stocked with items like yours. Canned meats, vegetables, fruits, beans, pastas, sides, sauces, condiments & spices/herbs ( and I keep some shelf stable milk & drink powders & water). I pull from my pantry almost daily. I'm thankful to have it.
I'm so sorry you caught "flack" for that one video you spoke of. I believe you have been quite clear in communicating with us that you speak from your perspective and experience with in your home life. I didn't find anything offensive about that video you referenced to and I understood exactly what you meant.
Thanks for sharing this video, looking forward to your future vids on shopping trips. Be blessed =)

Hi Lynn! My friend and I just traveled from New Jersey to the Sharp Shopper on Saturday. We go to the one in Ephrata and also visit the one in Leola. We like the grocery outlet in East Earl, but any one is good. Happy bargain hunting!!! 🤗

I don’t have a stock pile yet. I’ll be interested in seeing the places you’ll be visiting up in PA. I’m actually looking for organic grass fed cow cream for making my own butter and I’d love to try making other things home made. I hear it’s so much better with the fresh right from the cow. Apparently it’s not allowed to be sold in NJ
