I still don't know why firefly still hard-sticks to their game-concept change which is failing miserably for 17 years now. If they made a new 2D Stronghold on a modern level with a high emphasis on atmosphere, bug fixing and gameplay that feels as fluent as the first ones, they could potentially revive the entire franchise. But I can only hope.... The best Stronghold since Stronghold 2 was literally Stronghold Kingdoms for me. It has absolutely nothing to do with the others in terms of gameplay, but it has the Stronghold vibe.
Those swordsmen are like "oh damn, I am burned alive. I must go back fast. Also, I must keep an eye on this water trap so I don't mistakenly step into it."
I could create that maze so they can't reach tower, but the point of this video is to show how Fire Throwers are OP in tight situations. They are really helpful in some extreme missions and in real scenarios you would use them with shields and crossbowmen.
Ngl, fire and firethrowers are kinda underrated, but i guess thats due to the whole ranged units concept of archers and crossbow, which hardcounter them anyways, and the lack of real good defense. I rlly wished there was a bit more indepth and more viable strategies than just horsearchers and mobile shields - spam
When it comes to killing waves of units in close range, nothing beats Firethrowers. As for attacking strategy, Catapults, Fire ballistas and Shields stacked together is way to go.
You've deliberatly set it up so it's impossible for the knights to win. They just circle round again when they're close enough to kill him. If you're going to try and prove how strong something is then make it not literally impossible to kill that thing during the expermient
@Cahangir based from my point of view i think drowning is much worse than burning as burning can potentially damage the veins that lets you feel pain, but drowning never gives you that relief, you will only fall continously and will slowly die due to the lack of oxygen as your body feels more heavier and colder than usual so yeah.. i think drowning is the worse of the two
Adding 20 spearmen wouldve been a whole different ballgame... I dont want to say something completely obvipus like 1 trebuchet and 20 spearmen lol, 0 swordsmen needed.
@itsknixi if they'd make towers and machicolations increase pierce armor (armour against arrows) just like shield do, horse archers would become more balanced. Also making walls and structures more resistant against catapults and trebuchets would also balance these out. After all walls don't fall that easily and machiculations are way more OP than people think.

If these lazy swordsmen would run as fast normally as if they were on fire they would actually make it to the other side.

You should have set them to attack the tower. Some of them did come close enough to do so. Maybe the results would have been different.

@@peasant. Well thats why Archers are used, to knock them at a large distance, then Swordsmen can charge the Walls or Towers..

i dont even use shields i just go 200 horseman

that's why i have 300 horse archers running around the opponent castle, fire arrows and fire thrower is nightmare for swordmen
