In 11:03 you tried to roll to move faster, but it didn't work. There actually IS a way for you to move faster using rolling.
You have to cancel the end of your roll with square, and then roll again.
Keep your thumb on the stick, and index on the square.

I actually loved how the Minotaur's health bar broke apart as the fight went along.
38:12 those PSP games have good story, one is a prequel of this game and the other one is in between GOW1 and GOW2, so if you cant play them at least you could watch the cutscenes of those games by yourself to have a lot of more context of Kratos inner demons before what is to come in GOW 2 and beyond 👀because there is a lot of references to those PSP games in a lot of the last games. Also gg with the minotaur, that guys is brutal and I am very happy you are understanding why this game is so special since the very first game

This is one of my all time favorite series. Games that fire on all cylinders (presentation, gameplay, story) are exceptionally rare. What's even crazier is that every single entry surpasses the one that came before it!
Back when devs cared bout their products.. the golden age one might say. Before everyone got into open-world, hyper-realistic, battle royale bs that is modern gaming. I wonder if the guy who invented Pong was really the devil
in my opinion the newer ones are not necessarily better, they're just different games altogether, i prefer the gow 3 kratos, at least some brutal deaths man, they sissified it too much, there are the executions but GoW 3 was on demon time and everyone loved it.
Yep this is officially one of my favorite series. You can see the passion the devs put into this game.

I platinumed God of War on the PS3...which means I fought the Minotaur Boss at least twice. Still trying to platinum the Vita version....have the speed run to do. All the times I fought him...I never once thought about fighting him on the platform. That would have been SO MUCH EASIER. Nice you figured that out.

The Army of Hades fully upgraded is unreal. Great ep dude.
The shift from level 1 to 2 is big as well, but I loved it so much I fully upgraded it as soon as I could. Definitely my favorite spell from the series.
Ayo, Mati is becoming the god of parries. Gotta love the appreciation you have for the game so far. Yeah, the devs put a lot of work and love into this one. It's my favorite in the series because of the story, but the others get progressively better.
The writing and plot here is fantastic

I also had the same URGE to play complete GOW game series from very long time and only played for few times during childhood years. Your videos drived me too to start playing GOW game series and I'm absolutely loving it.

I don't love the GOW games but I will always watch your videos Mati, you make everything enjoyable. I hope one day you blow up super huge on youtube because you deserve the world. Man I’m glad I came across you, I’ve grown up with god of war playing it with my dad when I was as little as four (four sounds crazy I know, but when I say playing I mean more so watching my dad do all the work while I’d only help with some quick time events on bosses 😂) watching you play brings back a TON of nostalgia brother, keep it up you’re in for a huge ride man enjoy it

Your combat has improved to the point that playing God of War 2 on normal-mode, won’t feel like a challenge to you now. It’ll feel like an easy cakewalk. 🎂

Been a fan of this franchise since 2006, and will never forget how this game broke me lol. Played from start to finish without sleep and it certainly brought out the rage in me. Shoes, game cases, a controller or any item within reach was unfortunately chucked across my apartment. This game really makes you work 😂

God of War 1-3: really fun games, they must have been amazing in their time
God of War 2018: one of the best games ever made, just on a completely 'nother level
God of War 2018 is on a complete 'nother level of boring. GOW 1-3 are way better.
Greek saga is 10 times better than the norse saga

The storytelling in 2018 game is on a completely extraordinary level. I believe the dynamics between the two main characters in The Last of Us influenced it. To ensure that certain key moments work particularly well, playing through the previous installments is also recommended

Tips: When fighting cyclops (Trolls) use Square Square Triangle combo to stunlock them. It's so much easier.

It reminds of my days I couldn't best this fight and a friend, who completed the game, had to tell me how to defeat the the King Minotaur.

I have to say that the Minotaur Boss Battle has my favorite music in this game. That is one of those that you sometimes hear inside your head even when playing other games' boss fights.

The Minotaur was one of the best boss fights. It was super memorable. Sad part for me was that my game would always glitch out after the fight, so I could never complete the game back in the day.

I'm impressed the way you mastered the combat, it seems you got use to it. And just to let you know, you forgot to unlock the door with the Muse's keys you collected last episode, they were in the Ring of Pandora. In that room if I'm not mistaken you could max your health, magic and gain a lot of experience, so it was a shame that you skiped it. Either way your bars are in great state as well as your weapons and magics.
About playing the other games (PSP and Ascention), if you are not going to play them at least watch a summary video of their story. Chains of Olympus is a prequel to GOW1 and Ghost of Sparta happens between the first one and the second, it could be great for you to plat them because events of those games will be mention in GOW2, G0W3, GOW (2018) and Ragnarok that you won't understand unless you played those games. There is also the already mentioned Ascention, the last classic GOW. Chronologically is the first one to the saga but it is not that escential to the overall story. I will recommend you to watch at last.
If this is not your plan then, you can play the trilogy and then watch a video telling you the whole story of Kratos since the beggining and before the new ones. This is only my recommendation.

I played this game many times back when it was new and a few times since. Yet i have zero memory of playing this entire section. Weird.

i have been really enjoying this playthrough and i can definitely relate to all your reactions and i have broke a controller trying to kill that boss but you have missed a BIG room where you get 6 feathers and 6 eyes and a ton or orbs its THE MUSE room bro how can you forget it lol

Army of Hades will be your best friend in these later areas. Loving the energy and I’m glad to see you enjoying the story. It is without exaggeration my favorite game series of all time.
Oh also just in case you noticed it but the PS3 version of God of War 1 has a glitch where the Temple of Pandora's main theme will play in the background and sometimes even overpower the designated song. Only way to make it stop is to completely close out the game and reopen it.

In GOW 2 and 2018 he is the game director (In my opinion) the best 2 games of the series. After you finish you should do a bonus episode of the Behind the Scenes. I was literally screaming at my phone for you to run up the stairs and shoot a log at the Minotaur. Still, it was an entertaining and amazing fight. Unfortunately, you forgot the muses room, but I'm not surprised after such a boss. I would run the hell out as well.😂

You can get the PSP Games along with 1-3 all together for the PS3. It's the God of War collection. The PSP games have a lot of great back story! I highly advise you play them too! Loving the content Mati! Keep it up man!

Just to mention, in this only game the orbs have range limitation, it is fixed in all other games but here they are more of collectables

You should definitely play Ghost of Sparta and chains of Olympus before you move on to 2 mostly because they happen before 1 and between 1 and 2 and are pretty important for understanding kratos's character
