Looks so much better. Seems most planty channels have so many plants jammed together it is just a mass of green. It much better if plants can have their own space to show off their beauty. Definitely less is more. It’s hard to let go but the benefits are satisfying. Donna
Thank you Donna!!! I watched a video the other day, a popular channel I don't typically watch, so I wasn't aware of just how many plants they had. Plants in every corner, hanging from the ceiling everywhere. Holy moly LOL. I don't know how some people do it. Feels claustrophobic to me. And a ton of work. I'm definitely in my less is more phase. Not that I don't still have a lot, but it's definitely less, and I may still be purging a few more :). Thanks for watching!!!!
Seeing how much you decluttered plants makes me want to clear more plants. I love them dearly but it makes a difference on how clear and clean it looks after the let go.
It really is so satisfying!!! I feel like I can see what I still have more clearly. Someone else said the plants remaining really stand out. I totally agree. Thank you :)
Hi Gena, I totally enjoyed your video. Your rooms turned out amazing, so bright and open. So glad you sold your plants, lucky customers. A new cabinet would be a perfect idea to show off your beautiful African Violets. I hope you have a wonderful week ❤
So happy you love all your changes! I can definitely tell its more airy bright spacious. I feel like my eye could notice and appreciate more of your furniture and knick knacks special non planty things too so thats fun. Sounds like you cleared out made some money stocked your prop tent for business and also earned fresh feel n lighter load. Wow Gina great work your winning for sure
Hi Gena! Your begonias looks so so pretty in their cabinets! The cabinet for the African violets is such a great idea! I hope you find one…..your house looks so pretty and great job letting go! Your collection looks beautiful….I need a purge for sure! I have a few in the garage to haul in! Big hugs! So so happy for you! Love you tina
Hi, Tina!!! Thank you so much!!! I think I figured out what I am going to do. Combine them into the Begonia cabinets. There's no room in the one in my office, but I can squeeze some into the greenhouse shelf in my kitchen and then the Ikea cabinet in my dining room. That should work out well. It would be nice to have them all contained in one place but until then, this will work :). Big hugs back to you!!! xxoo
Everything looks great! Very nicely curated. I love the antique radio. I have my great grandma’s radio but it could use some restoration to look that nice.
Hi, Mandy! Thank you!!! The radio has been with us for 29 years. It was in fantastic condition, I don't think Derek had to do any restoration on it.... and it even still works. They are fun :).
Hi Gena! Thanks for the update! Your home does look better after the decluttering (although I also thought it was fabulous before). I’m glad you’ll have less work too! I don’t know how you do it! I’ve been away for a couple of weeks, so I might be doing some decluttering myself when I return home after the drought and lack of pest control.
Hi, Cheryl! Thank you!!! Purging/decluttering has definitely made my life so much easier. I might still do a bit more too LOL. It just feel so nice :D.
Very successful uncluttering, only thing maybe is the pattern on the background walls, it takes away a little bit from the palnts - but I'm boring maybe or minimalist to be soft with myself😄
Wow its so hard to get rid of plants!! Lol And I hear you for Halloween to me its just not as fun as the children leave home (sad) lol Happy Sunday Gena 💚🎃
Right now it's so easy for me to get rid of plants. Probably because I basically have a greenhouse in my basement LOL. In my neighborhood we hardly get any trick-or-treaters which is probably why I'm not very motivated to decorate. In addition to not wanting to clutter things up. Thanks Duncan!!! Hope you had a perfectly Fall Sunday :D.
We wanted to let you know how we look so forward to your Sunday video. Jen wants you to know that she loves your living room rug. I think that the house looks so Airy now just lovely I gasped when you said you got rid of your maria! Jen said we needed to live closer so that we could have taken advantage of your sales LOL I have absolutely no room in the sunroom and Bruce would not be pleased with me moving a bunch of plants into the living room😊😊😊
I thought of you when I decided to sell the maria!!!! I know it is one of your favorites!!! I did remove it from the planter and put it in a plain plastic nursery pot. The planter was way too valuable to give away with the plant. It's a beautiful plant for sure but one I was able to let go of. Mostly because it reminds me a lot of the strawberry ice which I have in the grow tent. I decided I didn't need to have both :). Thanks Lynn!!!! xxoo

So if yours starts to look unhappy, it should eventually adjust just fine like mine did 😊. But hopefully that won’t happen at all and it will just look good always. Thanks for letting me know 💕💕💕
Hi Gena! Thanks for another great video. Wow that sure was a purge! It looks great! The African violets are so beautiful ! I always enjoys seeing how their doing. ❤️
Hi, Nicole!!!! Thank you!!! Those AVs are bringing me so much joy. I really want to get them their own enclosed cabinet display. I have to figure out something.
I wonder what is your favorite plant for fall? I bought a NOID Hoya at Star Nursery for $5.89 in a 3 inch pot. It is a cross between a Hoya carnosa and a Hoya pubicalyx. It is my favorite, because it has medium sized dark green glossy leaves. It is a vigorous care free plant which has grown quickly, and now is in a 7 inch pot. It has over 6 vines and the vines are never bare, they are covered with leaves. The vines have a darkish wine red color and the leaves are lightly splashed. It is a delight. I’d love to send you a cutting, though I know you’re loaded with new Hoyas.
I don't know that I have a favorite for Fall. So many of my plants are bringing me a ton of joy right now. African Violets, Begonias, Cacti/Succulents, Hoya, etc. etc. LOL. I can't pinpoint one particular plant. Your NOID Hoya sounds fabulous!!!! If I wasn't trying to keep my upstairs collection to a minimum I would totally take you up on a cutting. Going forward, my attention on Hoya is going to be more on rare species for the shop. And I am in no way a snob when it comes to plants. The more common the better in my opinion. But for my sanity, any new additions have to be contributing to my shop :). Hope that doesn't make me sound like a jerk LOL. Thanks Paul!!!!
Thank you Paul!!!! It's been so nice focusing most of my attention on the grow tents now. I used to break up the upstairs watering into 3 days per week. Now it's just 1 day per week. Sooo nice :). Happy Sunday to you.
