- Time to put the crazy clown to sleep.
So, this fight is divided into 4 parts, as we climb up the awesome tower of Gods to reach Kefka at the heavens. You must assemble the order in which your characters will fight, and if anybody is KOed once a floor is cleared, they'll be left behind and the other character(s) in the sequence will replace them. I only use a single team because those are my favorite characters to use.
The first floor we face, well, Face, Long Arm and Short Arm (the remaster gives them "better" names but I like the old ones). The arms do some physical attacks, while Face can do some annoying Sap, petrify and reverse rows in your formation. If the arms are killed first, when Face dies he'll counter with Quake, which does high damage on everyone without float. Face is weak to fire, Long Arm is weak to petrification so it dies instantly, and then I leave Short Arm for last as it flaunts around and dies.
Next floor, there's 4 enemies: Magic, Hit, Tools and Tiger.
Magic as the name implies can deploy all sorts of magic attacks, from damage like -Ga level spells of every element, to Slow, Stop and whatnot. It can also counter attacks once its HP falls a certain amount with Graviga and Dispel, which is pretty annoying. Silence completely shuts it down forever.
Hit just does a ton of physical attacks, and when it dies, it lashes out with 10 attacks in a row. They are rather weak but if you get caught up on Graviga it can be deadly. You can bypass those by casting Golem, or having lots of defense.
Tools can use all sorts of laser attacks. You can shut it down with Stop so it's never a problem.
Tiger is the most dangerous because it has tons of powerful attacks, and can freeze characters. Frozen characters can be thawed with fire spells on your own party. Kill it ASAP.
Next tier, there's only Lady and Rest. The trick here is that, Lady keeps casting White Wind to heal Rest, and if Rest dies, she'll just bring him back with Arise, so she must die first - except she absorbs all elements, so use non-elemental magic or physical attacks. As for Rest, he keeps throwing very powerful magic like Meteor and Meltdown (which will also heal Lady if she's still alive), though fire protection effectively neuters the later; and Trine, a spell that causes Blind and Silence to everyone. When he's killed, he'll use the skill Repose once or twice, which simply kills whoever it hits bypassing death immunity. Having Golem active prevents it, as well as Blink status or Invisible - and you can also use Reraise on yourself if you want.
The Tower of Gods can be a little frustrating if you just throw AoE damage haphazardly. As you can see, each tier has mechanics that can wipe one or more characters from your party if you aren't expecting them regardless of level (well, besides Face's Quake).
Then here comes the big clown himself. Kefka's first turn is always Heartless Angel, which drops everyone's HP to 1. Kefka mostly throws elemental magic, can also cast Trine, Havoc Wing does very high physical damage to a single target, and later on he can counter attacks with Hyperdrive, which deals very high non-elemental magic damage to a single target, and once he's low on HP, Ultima, which is deadly, and cast Meteor. When the face appears, he'll charge Forsaken, which is a fairly weak attack if your characters have Shell active. While he's charging, he won't counter anymore, so the trick is to wait him to get into that state before attacking.
FF6 isn't a hard game, and any sort of party may work, as long as you understand the gimmicks. You can comfortably beat the final boss at Lv30. Terra with Ultima and Soul of Thamasa will bring destruction, Locke can do some mean damage with Master's Scroll and Valiant Knife at low HP (perfect for Heartless Angel), Celes was my emergency healer (not that I really needed it), and Sabin is support with massive damage with Phantom Rush. Ribbons on everyone prevents the possibility of Trine ruining your party.

The music in this game is soooooo good. Like, so so so so good. Probably the best in the history of gaming.
Wouldn't go that far. Xenoblade smokes any ff game and ffix has a way better ost than vi. Vi definitely is 2nd best for music in ff tho

Super amazing I loved it it was like I was playing a new game and then the loss of the air ship made me feel like stuck on the ground and vulnerable!
3 things I want to say about it.
1.-Everyone will have their favorite Final Fantasy, but I definitely consider that none is BETTER than the sixth, this whole game is so MAGNIFICENT that it really deserves a Remake, the seventh changed everything and is undoubtedly the most famous, the ninth is the most loved and The tenth is the most nostalgic. But I will always choose the sixth one as the most complete and memorable, a true masterpiece without a doubt. 🤩😍
2.-And among all the villains in the franchise, Kefka, without a doubt, is the most EVIL and DANGEROUS, his final battle is more incredible and symbolic than even Sephiroth's.😎💯
3.-Finally I want to say that thanks to this game that my grandparents gave me I shared the most beautiful moments with them, when they saw me play it, they were hooked and fond of everything, it made them remember how they lived (not in the same way obviously) their ancestors in the most difficult times and it made them feel something very familiar and melancholic. 👴👵
Yes I will pay for a remake of this better graphics same story same everything especially music. With graphics as rich and imaginative as what they could do with pixels then.
I don't even know how I got the game but my cousins played it with me. And I remember for the last boss fight I did it alone since my cousins were out swimming. They came back and were disappointed I finished it without them HAHAHA
The best Final Fantasy Ever. The best soundtrack ever. The best RPG ever. Forever.ever.ever.

Just an FYI, if you use the fast forward key to speed up the ending, you have to wait for the music to catch up at the "And You" part before it will show the team on the Airship escaping. So best not to use it as you'll have to wait the amount of time anyways.

The only thing that kinda sucked was the fact that there was no smooth music transition during the tier fight as compared to the original SNES version. Other than that it was a great fight as I remembered. And Kefka, well I wiped the floor with him when I had Cyan in my party.
Shadow stops running from the tower, but runs away from his friends. They don't even notice it, because he did it all the time.

I have the actual snes cartridge and the pixels are beautiful the way they are. The remaster just highlight the pixels and blurrs the edges.
@@ers555666What do you mean? Pixel Remaster was painstakingly re-created pixel by pixel and simply better compared to its previous HD remaster which I would describe the same way you describe the Pixel Remaster.
30 years ago no games had dealt with Nihilism, suicide, and antagonist that won! i Am convinced this is the most revolutionary and consequential game of all time. Sure games have done it better, but this game opened Pandora’s box
Yeah there's no competition. There's not a better story in gaming since then. We might as well call it the best Visual Novel ever written.

My game softlocked after last Kefka fight, probably because Mog is still in Jump animation. Too tired to replay the final boss fight, so I just skipped to this video. Thanks dude

I wish when they remade this game that they’d give us an option to go hard on this game. This is the one title of FF where I would enjoy a really challenging final end battle.

I vaguely remember playing this on the SNES and had Jump equipped on Shadow and whatever augment let him jump multiple times, he proceeded to land 8 9999 damage jumps on the very first attack and I basically one-shot Kefka lol.

Even in the PR version, Kefka is still a pushover. Back in the Advance version, I could kill him with Terra in 1 turn, she dealt 9999 damage, times 8. 2x Ultima Weapon + Genji Glove + Master's Scroll. Wish they didn't omit the Dragon's Den and Soul Shrine in the PR version.
I could have sworn he was a lot harder than this when I played it in 1996

PSone version was still the best one - really loved the exclusive full motion video scenes for the intro and the ending. ))
I'm sure, the developers will make a next gen console masterpiece of this game someday.

The statues are the gods themselves who chose the be sealed away in order not to destroy the world they had built.

Such a cool fight, too bad you're always so OP by this point in the game that the fight becomes a joke. Unless you're doing some sort of challenge run, I suppose.

i hated how you easily killed my favorite villain. I'm so sick of using op moves against bosses such as phantom rush, Ultima, Genji glove master scroll ultima weapon & valiant knife, Dragon Horn & Dragoon Boots. It can be boresome
I never liked the pixel remastered i like the original the colour palettes look way off compare to there original counter parts

Gosh easiest final boss, so easy u beat all his forms in minutes lol
You will definite get an easy time in this final boss battle if you take your time to grind before seeing Kefka. I mean the part about getting Ultima, it will require you to keep going back to fight random encounter monsters just for that experience points along with the each summoned spells you equipped just to master that magic powers. It will be so easy that you can choose any characters you want.
the pixel remaster plays way faster than the original. actions take about 1/4 the time they originally did in the remaster, so the final boss can technically be beat in 3 minutes flat (fastest time recorded here) when originally it would take around 12-15 minutes. a lot of us feel as though square enix botched this game big time. the music ain't that spectacular either :/
I prefer the original games graphics over this inferior version.
That's ok, lots of people with poor taste who don't know what they are talking about like yourself out there. Load up the original again and see how bad it looks on modern screens, if you still think it looks good then lobotomize yourself. Oh wait, that must have already happened.

"Remaster" that looks absolutely horrific compared to its original SNES version. This is perhaps my favorite game ever, and I just cant get over how they just keep messing up the graphics sooo bad with every new version.
