Your point about packing clothes in your carry on is such a key point. Infact, I'd extend this to say that you need to pack ANYTHING you're going to need on Day 1 of your cruise in here. While this doesn't necessarily get you onto the ship any quicker, it does really help you to chill out once onboard!

MSC didn't require paper boarding passes in Miami in May. We saved them in our wallet.
