Instead of using packing cubes, I use large ziplock storage bags. After taking out the clean clothes, the bags can be used for other items including wet bathing suits.
You can find 2-gallon sized bags that are brilliant for just this purpose. Double points if you use them to contain your dirty laundry on the trip home!
@@char90303 The bonus is you can easily see what is in the bags. Some of the packing cubes make it hard to see what you packed unless you open the bag!
We have a western Mediterranean cruise in May and another to Alaska in Sept. Don’t listen to the haters, we love your channel and appreciate all your recommendations!
😀. I’m not cruising until February and I’ve already started packing! First cruise and so excited! I have an extra large Rubbermaid tote that I am stashing things for the cruise in and the clothes I’m planning to take have their own section in my closet. I’m may be going a little overboard…
Same! First cruise in feb and already have items packed in cubes and my backpack has essentials inside 😂 (and we have the life will cruised ultimate cruise planner)
My first cruise is in May and I have already started getting items together, making lists and setting aside clothes. So I get it. Glad I am not alone. Have fun cruising everyone.
In addition to the tips you left, we also turn off our water to the house and turn off our water heater. No sense risking a burst pipe or water heater when you're going to be gone for a while. We enjoy your videos!
My dad fortunately had turned off the water when they left for their cruise. The toilet tank cracked (it was old). Water in the bathroom only. Thank goodness. Imagine 5 or 6 days of the water running! You never know what might break while you are away.
Once i had pa cked my suitcase ahead of time. When i unpacked on the ship, my little kitty had put her favorite toy in my suitcase ,reminding me she had been left behind and had to stay with grandma! Lol
I recently stopped using my motion night light and started using 2-3 tea lights in the bathroom and stateroom instead. If my AirTag runs out of batteries during my travel I can pop the #2032 battery from the tea light and it gives me peace of mind.
A lot of these are part of my routine I always get groomed LOL one or two days before I always put fresh sheets and towels so that I can come back to Fresh linen, I also have the house cleaned the week of as close to the cruise day as possible and if I'm cruising on Saturday on Friday I will choose some fun take out food like Chinese or pizza and I'll watch a comedy that involves traveling something like Couples Retreat or Just Go With It. It always puts me in a great mood, and it has become a pre cruising tradition.
Great last minute reminders, especially leaving prepared meals in the freezer! One of the hardest things is to get back into the routine of cooking, after a week or more of all your meals prepared and served to you 😂! Also putting fresh sheets on the bed and fresh towels out. I make have me a towel animal waiting on my bed for me 😂! I will definitely add these to my cruise preparation list! Next cruise in eighty-five days and counting 😎🛳🛳
Before travelling I like to take some extra vitamin C supplements, and even recommend packing some powdered vitamin C to bring with me which I can just add to my water bottle, Between jetlag and crowded airports and close quarters on planes, you can be susceptible to colds or viruses which could ruin your trip. Better to boost your immune system in advance,
Last minute packing tip- plan outfits, try on clothes to make sure you still love the fit, then wash and dry clothes one week ahead. Place all items on/ near suitcase, then do the final packing the night before departure.
Great tips as always! An additional Home Preparation tip: put an easy to prepare meal in your freezer, and/or stock the pantry with a couple non-perishable options, so that if you get home late at night after your cruise, you have something to eat since stores may be closed at that hour…
One thing I never had on my OTC medication list was hydrocortisone (despite carrying a virtual Walgreens wherever we go). It's so cheap at Costco, so we always have tons of it at home, but on our last cruise, one of our kids must've been allergic to something in the pool water on the ship and got a rash all over the places a bathing suit covers. He honestly didn't make a big deal out of it until our second port, and then he showed me his chest and thighs, and I saw how bad it was. We could not find hydrocortisone in port, so he toughed it out until the next day, when we were in Grand Cayman and were able to get to a pharmacy. Thank goodness they sold it for a normal price, too. As soon as he started using it, his rash improved, and now we will NEVER forget to pack it! Both of my kids and I have eczema, so I really should have known better. Edited to add that it was not available on the ship. I could find all sorts of "adult" skin products but no hydrocortisone.
I drive to see grand kids, usually 5 hour drives. My favorite snack is Honey Nut Cheerios mixed with cashews. There are so many flavors of Cheerios you can use which one you like.
Ilana! Thank you again for yet another helpful video! Please know you are appreciated and please please please don’t let the negative opinions steal your joy in sharing with us!💕😁
Thank you for your suggestions of items. My wife was so happy she got several of your suggested items, the travel wallet and waste pouch. Your info was amazing. Thank you so much.
My Husband and I travel quite often for work and personal. We keep cords and plugs for our phones, iPads etc in our suitcase. This really makes it so much easier. Totally worth the extra expense, and the worry if you have all your charges.
We do that as well. We have a small case that holds a duplicate of all of our chargers, cables, and a non-surge protected extension power block. We use that for all travel, cruise or otherwise.
I ordered a couple new sand free beach towels this time because they’re so much lighter than our normal ones and the cruise ship towels I started thinking how heavy those damp towels are walking that long port getting back to the ship!!!
I use a Zipper Pouch, from Wisdompro (4 Packs) Durable Letter Size Waterproof Mesh File Bag, Document Organizer from Amazon. Wonderful! Sometimes we do side-to-side cruises (like 3 different cruise lines on one long trip) and I put the documents for each cruise in a pouch and label the fronts. Organization is the key and nothing falls out!
Hi llana I do have a suggestion about the folder I buy a folder from dollar tree it has a Ziplock pocket in the front, I started using this for travel it helps me keep my documents organized and helps me not to lose anything
I love my folder (even though the kids laugh at me.) I have a plastic folder and inside I have fluorescent colored envelopes labeled for air, hotel, car, etc. works great for us!
Thank you Ilana, for these cruising tips. I have my first cruise next April and I have been watching all your videos so that I will be somewhat prepared
Absolutely love your videos! I always find a nugget or two to add to my list. One thing we've started doing in preparation for our return home, is to make a small grocery order of the essentials (milk, eggs, bread, etc.) Typically we'll arrange a delivery for around the time we expect to arrive home. Alternatively, we'll arrange for a pick up at the grocery store nearest our home. Grocery shopping is just one thing we don't want to do the minute we get home.
That’s a great idea! My daughter in law and I did this when we went to Florida this year and scheduled the pickup at a local Walmart to be on our way to our condo and it was so much easier!!!
I order a delivery from the restaurants as well timing our arrival home. Most of the time the kids ask for their favorite and call it the last vacation meal😊
We are on the land part of our first cruise. We are on Norwegian and board the ship in 48 hours. We’ve ❤ the land part. We have seen Denali twice now in 2 days. We saw a moose wrangle a tree to eat from the top of it. National Park was stunning. Sunshine and 50’s. Love so far .
I use hearing aids. November 2022, on a 10-day Panama Canal cruise. On the 5th day, my charger died. As soon as I returned home, I got a spare UBS charger. I have been on two cruises since, and my spare is the first thing I pack in advance, and my daily one is packed the first thing when I get up the morning my trip, cruise or any over night trips.
Your info is always on point. I have your cruise planner and use it. We are preparing for our cruise on Carnival Celebration September 22. We are so excited. We are actually flying to Miami from Indiana. This is our first time flying since before 9/11. So things have really changed. We are also in our 70’s and my hubby is in a wheelchair. But we are looking forward to traveling with our three daughters and their husbands. Thanks again for your information.
It was a good suggestion to let your credit card companies know if you’re looking to withdraw some cash from the bank using an ATM debit card. You can also let your bank know that you’re traveling most cards. I should say most companies today you can go onto their phone app and if you look through things you can do one thing is you can let them know if your upcoming travel plans dates and locations.
I keep my toiletry bag ready to go. I call it my run away bag. It is refilled a week or so after we return. We have a water softener. Don't for get to put it on stand by. It isn't running while you are gone. Turn the water off out side the house. In case pipes burst. I keep my toiletry bag ready to go all the time. Refill it after each trip. Make notes of I need to change anything different. Husband has his own bag and I check on his to. Will be a long time we travel again. Husband has two more surgeries before January 2026.😢. We want to get away so bad .
I truly appreciate your videos on preparing and packing, what to do on embarkation and disembarkation days, as well as what to do on port visits and sea days. My wife and I have traveled the world over the years, but are relatively new to cruising; your videos are spot on, thank you. Prior to a cruise, I always check to see if we can use our cellular plan in the countries that we will be visiting. As I check personal and financial related internet sites while on a cruise, I also use a VPN. When using a VPN, I feel secure in checking bank/ credit card statements. Our next cruise: My wife and I will be cruising on Paul Gauguin to French Polynesia, a buck list location. Thank you for your videos!
The Ultimate Cruise Planner I would say is a must for everyone! First timers and even experienced cruisers could use this! It covers a lot of information and use what you might need even if you're not going on a cruise it is very informative! Worth the money that you spend on it and you have it forever! Compression packing cubes I would say would be a must. They allow you to pack more and things stay nice. The only problem with them is that you might over pack in the weight category. Backup battery supplies are also a must. If you have a tendency to use a lot of power these are nice! Power cube is also a must in my list! Also having a USB Hub that can supply power to all your devices is also a must have! We also download movies that we might want to watch. It's best to do it before you leave home. Even if you don't watch them you still have them if the time permits! We like to watch "Life Well Cruised" because we get a lot valuable information! It always has great food for thought and great suggestions to think about! Our next cruise is in 3 weeks and we're looking forward to it!
Very good tips, as always. What I do is that I prepare a new note on my phone for every cruise and I save the documents, reservations, and more there. I include the list of the outfits that I am willing to take with me, and 1-2 days before I delete the ones I am not taking and leave the ones I will wear. I also have a Last Minute list that I use every time to check right before leaving the house for those things that we leave for later like the phone charger that you mentioned, my electric tooth brush, leave enough food and water for my furry babies, leave a light on, PASSPORT (just in case I forget to take it),etc. I go over that list a while before leaving the house and that helps a lot.
I just found out this when i did the on line check in. Unfortunately, too late. Sailing oct 9-19. Too late to send in. Taking a chance on the date. I will have a birth certificate. Will this be an issue? My travel agent should have mentioned this!
@@pinksnoopydancerDepends on whether a passport is needed for ports you are sailing to! A birth certificate and driver’s license is fine for the Caribbean.
We recently spent 2 days in Vancouver before our Alaska cruise. After watching your video about your stay in Vancouver, I decided to spend the $$ and stay in the Pan Pacific hotel near the cruise port. We were SO glad we did! The hotel was lovely and so convenient to everything. Thanks for the recommendation!
Our first cruise is in May and I’ve been watching all your videos and have purchased many items already based on your suggestions. I am confident we will be well prepared!!
I am an avid experienced cruiser. It’s always great to have these type of reminders. Thank you so much and I’ll be packing this weekend. Sailing on Symphony in 2 weeks. 🎉
Regarding CPAP machines. You should have a dedicated packing list for your CPAP machine, and you should always keep a copy in your CPAP carrying case. You would not want to forget any component whose omission might leave your machine inoperable. For instance the power cord, the hose, all the pieces of the mask, adapters if you're traveling internationally, etc. Unless you have a special travel CPAP, you'll need to pack this up the day you depart. You will need this not only for travel, but for evacuation and unplanned hospitalization. In the latter case, somebody else may need to pack your CPAP bag.
My husband invested in a travel cpap last year. So much easier - it is always packed and ready to go, and NO water is required. He also keeps an extension cord in the case.
@@dianewood3068 - If he hasn't used it in a while, make sure it's set to the right prescription and make it still works. I think he should use it for a few days like a week or two before you leave, just in case there's a problem.
I'm going on my first cruise in February and don't need to buy any cruise clothing, except a swimsuit. I have many long light glamorous kaftans with matching turbans. I have casual ones for day time and glam ones for nights out. They are very light, wash and dry quickly and are the perfect cruise outfit. I have sandals to match each, and jewellery. The casual ones can be worn as nightgowns and they are loose and comfy. I got them all ridiculously cheap from Shein and a few more slightly more expensive ones from India. I don't suit T shirts and jeans and shorts in my short 5 feet tall frame and slight plumpness, but the long kaftans make me look taller and slimmer and they hide the muffin top and other little flaws.
😅😅 As kids we did family vacations to Myrtle Beach every year. My Mom had our (4 kids) vacation clothes packed 2 months before. You picked what you wantedvto wear, but once it hit that vacation pile you couldn't touch it till we were actually on vacation. 😂Dad was included too. 😂😂 She always said if it leaves the pile it doesn't go back even if it was washed and clean again. It made things easier for her, and she wasn't doing alot of last minute things or forgetting something. 😂😂😂 It made you learn to pack ahead of time. I always have a hanging toiletry packed for just those weekend or long vacations ready. I still do it to this day. 😊 It makes it nice so not packing your everyday toiletries at the last minute. Enjoy your cruise 😊😊
Don't forget any books that you might want for poolside reading. I always (42 cruises) make a beeline for the ship library as soon as I board before the selections get picked over.
İlana, this was a fantastic video! I love all of your tips and suggestions. I’m going on a cruise the end of January to the eastern Caribbean and I’m super excited since I’ve never cruised there. The things I do the day before I fly out are get cash at the bank, do a nice facial mask so my skin feels fresh and glowy, print out travel info for my family and pet sitter, place toiletries, makeup and hair tools in my bag, and make one last confirmation with my pre-cruise hotel and shuttle service. I also do another weather check for my cruise region, and adjust my packing if necessary. Thanks again for the excellent ideas you presented in this video! Blessings ❤️
My next cruise is an eternity away. 643 days. We are doing a B2B on Carnival Magic again. It'll be our 5th & 6th cruise. 3 out of 4 of our previous cruises have been on Magic. We did our first B2B on Magic in September of 2023. It was a 6/8 day cruise. And this next one will be a 6/8 day again. This time we'll have the same interior room on the Lido deck.
This is an excellent comprehensive review and great tips. When traveling from another country. I.e. Canada I need to buy USD at the bank before I leave and buy travel medical insurance and remember to read the instructions "before" I leave my house and pack the papers in my carry on bag.
My Wife bought some beautiful shoes and was crushed when she found they rubbed blisters on her heels. I bought some Moleskins and she was very happy, she asked how I knew about them. I served in the Army for 20 years of course I know about them.
Moleskin is the best! I discovered this when I was a cast tech applying fiberglass casts & splints at an orthopedic clinic. I’d line the cast where the ends came into contact with fingers/hands and arm areas. I found a pre-cut small pack at Dollar Tree.

Illana, we've watched you for the past 4 years and have really found your videos extremely helpful! Thank you!! We are going on the Princess Enchanted in less than a week! Can't wait!
I've heard that the Enchanted Princess is one of their best ships! I only sail Princess and can't wait to book a trip on the Enchanted!! Have a wonderful time!
My husband and I get pedicures together and are have one scheduled for our upcoming cruise in December! It will be our first time getting one on a cruise ❤
Perfect timing. 😃 We're leaving in a couple of weeks for a two week B2B cruise. Because of the length, it's even more important to be detailed about what to pack. Especially the daily meds and supplements. Thanks to the ship's laundry facilities, it means there's less to pack as we do use them to lighten the load and luggage weight. Thanks, Iliana! Love your videos.
My tip: do what I do. I always replenish my toiletry bag and first aid kit when I return home from a cruise. I am always ready for a last minute getaway. I also keep a couple of foldable bins in my closet where I keep travel supplies such as chargers, converters, waterproof phone lanyards, foldable hangers, etc. Makes it so easy to get ready. I keep a stash of one and two dollar bills from the bank at home, which I reserve for cruise tipping.
Twisted my ankle on our last cruise. Luckily, i had packed a pair of compression socks, which helped. Will now be added to our packing list as well as a tensor bandage.
Hi Ilana. just a note on the air tag. I put one on my home keys and set it to my iPhone to say if my iphone and my myself are away from my keys with my Airtag I get a notification that sells me where my keys are even if they are in my crossbody or carryon. I left my bag and keys in my car and took my phone with me to use a public toilet. I got a alert to say I have been separated from my crossbody bag and it told me the directions of where it was and how far away I was from it . Yes it was in my car. but these things are so handy and they work. so I can't wait till I use them on a holiday. I have 4 so one on keys in crossbody bag, one in my carryon , one in my wallet where my passport is kept and on on my hubby haha. I walk fast and he is like a snail so I will see how that goes. they are so great.
I have two sets of packing cubes, one for warm-weather cruises and one for cold-weather cruises. Then I can just pick up the relevant packing cubes for the cruise I'm going on, so it makes it easier to pack my suitcase.
One more thing that I do is turn my water heater off at the control panel of my house. We have a large tank water heater instead of the on demand water heaters. But then we also tend to take vacations/holidays that last almost a month.
After 18 yrs of cruising, we've never thought of using luggage tag holders.... We had a laminator at home so would laminate our luggage tags then use zip ties to attach them to our luggage. If you don't have your own laminator at home, you can get them done at Staples. This option is great for those who don't cruise as often or it might be taking their first cruise.
A good wrap in clear packing tape is also an easy option! Fold and staple, then also tape over staples. Just be aware that they may be a bit difficult to remove unless you have small, round tip scissors!
Don’t forget your medical insurance cards! I do like the organization of a toiletry bag, but it takes so much room. I use ziplock bags, 1 for OTC meds, 1 for toiletries, 1 for undies. They are great for a small suitcase.
I would appreciate a video of you as well as your husband pack in a personal item bag. My better half and I can never agree with what should be packed.
Just got back from cruise out of Rome on RC. Been watching you for a while and wanted to thank you for all the tips and ideas for packing and having a better experience. Many of your tips were very helpful.
SUCH useful information, thank you so much for your great channel! Going on my first cruise, Viking Iconic Mediterranean, in December and am BEYOND excited! Trying to soak in all this great info so I don't do everything totally wrong and look like the clueless noob I really am. 😁
Our trip starts tomorrow morning. We always have everything ready few weeks before our trip gets closer. We charge electric devices around noonish. The snacks we love are Kind peanut butter breakfast bars, blueberry pie trail mix, Hi-Chews, blue diamond almond (love the blueberry and stree corn flavors, mom love wasabi). I keep our cruise documents in the folder inside my backpack. My friend house-sitting and dog-sitters for us. We told our neighbors about our trip. Some of them do have Ring cameras . I do put stickers on our stuff when we go through TSA checkpoint.
14:40 Yes my husband comes with me and we get pedicures together! He doesn’t get color but really enjoys the hot stones and massage parts. He works on his feet all day so he understands the importance of taking care of them!
Hi Ilana, I have been watching your videos in preparation for my first cruise in 40 years, or as I say “in the modern era” . They are fun and helpful. I just bought your guide to get ready! Thanks ❤
I have a separate travel bags for both myself and husband that we refill when we return home so it is always ready to go. Then when I start packing I double check the bags ; I start packing the day before we leave; I sort clothing a few days before I start packing. I leave them hanging in the closet so they don't get creased.
I'm going the end of October! YAY! My cruise outfits are set aside already. I only need to add shoes and undergarments. I am collecting the travel size toiletries or filling reusable containers. We are so fortunate, we stay over in a hotel about an hour and a half away, get on the shuttle, and get taken to the pier in Manhattan. So easy. Love your channel!
I'm a weird travel packer. I usually get all my stuff ready at least 2 MONTHS before a trip, and I write my list as I go since some items change depending where we are going. My husband thinks it's too early; however, he admits I never forget anything to or from our destination. 😊
Leaving on Friday for my first Celebrity cruise. So excited. Have done Holland, Carnival, Princess(waaay back in the day), MSC (shiprocked),and RC. Haven't even started packing! LOL Love your videos. Informative and straight to the point. Thank you.
100% do a Husband-Wife Mani-Pedi session! My husband is a Marine and professional foot care was how he survived 4 years of deployments with minimum damage to his feet. He introduced me to the joy that is happy feet! (He opts out on the polish, tho -- That's my department!)
I’ve done 2 cruises so far this year and have 3 booked already for 2025. I’m counting the days and can’t wait. My husband thinks i have lost my mind!! lol 😂
So much to think about. I have watched your videos and I find them very beneficial. I was going on my first cruise since I cant remember when in january on Norwegian but my cousin just asked me to sail with her group on Carnival in November. I'll just get an early start on thethings I bought for January. I'm very excited. Enjoy your cruises everyone. Keep making your great videos.
One thing that always almost gets forgotten is my brush. I never put it in the toiletries pack list and I use it the day before the trip. It’s usually just luck that I realize at the last minute and needs to go in the bag. I also use a bonnet now for sleeping and it’s pretty much the same thing.
Maybe try buying a second brush and sleep cap just for your toiletries bag would help? I also forget my hairbrush and comb or other necessities last moment. I finally bought a set just for vacations and conferences - I attend at least 4 conferences at 7 days each each every year, and it gets costly buying forgotten necessary items.
What important item you overlooked . Make sure you have the water line to your home Shut off unfortunately one of my neighbors my neighbor’s hot water heaters broke when they’re away for two weeks and their basement got filled up with water.
I bring a nightlight for the bathroom, and a mini battery powered clock for the bedside. I have several event badge holders on lanyards left over from work conferences, they make good passport/keycard holders, can be worn under a shirt. A shawl/pashmina doubles as a coverup or travel pillow.
13:55 that's interesting because the last time we tried to advise our bank that we were going on vacation, they told us we didn't need to. We did find that if you charge a very small amount multiple times *like for parking*, the bank might lock your account because this could be indication that a thief is testing to see if the card number is valid.
The major US banks have largely moved away from this because their fraud algorithms have gotten much more sophisticated. Chase, Discover and Cap1 have all eliminated the need to do this. Typically if you have an unusual charge they’ll alert you by SMS and you can say it’s you and it’ll be fine.
One more thing about electronics. When you are charging them, make sure that they are up to date! It's can be pretty anoying once on the ship with limited internet to realise that there is an update/upgrade going on in the background while you are trying to connect.
To prepare my home I have a list on a post a note that I check off. Clean sheets to come home to, all items with a heating component unplugged / turned off, chargers in a bag to take last minute, clean toilets and spray with a cleaner and close the lid, clean fridge and give away fresh produce or items that are perishable, taking out the garbage and compost and arrange for a neighbour to take out and return your bins, close all your internal doors, let a trusted neighbour or friend know your travel dates and leave a house key.
Curious, why close all internal doors? And here in FL, I found that if I close my toilet lid, mold builds up underneath it. Of course, this only happens on long trips away from home. Our humidity is really high.
@@nancyruckman5875 closing doors is done in case of fire. It helps prevent a fire from moving quickly throughout a house. Advice from our fire department. Toilets are sprayed with a disinfectant cleaner before I close the lid. If I don’t close the lid the water evaporates and I get rings around the bowl where the water levels drop.
When I was going away for a week or more I put all my indoor pot plants in the bath tub, with an old towel on the bottom so the surface wouldn't be scratched. I'd add enough water so the plants all had enough to last while I was away.
I pack for my cruise the day I’m leaving my house , like 2 hours before. It takes about 30-40 minutes because I pack everything in the packing cubes. So far I have never forgotten anything. I only prepare passport, luggage tags and cash in various bills the day before. Otherwise it gives me anxiety the night before. I always tell myself : if I have a passport, credit card and cash, it will be alright whatever I forgot.
Yes please. What you pack for the plane would be great. Really for all flights. I have a long one to a conference coming up. Thank you as always for the ongoing great information.

You can find 2-gallon sized bags that are brilliant for just this purpose. Double points if you use them to contain your dirty laundry on the trip home!

First time cruising here as well. In May and I have bought lots of things that were suggested. Love this channel!!!❤❤❤❤⚓️🛳️🛳️
In addition to the tips you left, we also turn off our water to the house and turn off our water heater. No sense risking a burst pipe or water heater when you're going to be gone for a while. We enjoy your videos!
That’s a great idea!!! I never thought of this!
My dad fortunately had turned off the water when they left for their cruise. The toilet tank cracked (it was old). Water in the bathroom only. Thank goodness. Imagine 5 or 6 days of the water running! You never know what might break while you are away.
I’m adding your tip to my list of stuff to remember. Thanks!
I like to turn off all power strips all over the house.
Great tip!
Great idea!
Love my tea lites with timer, always !!
Love that!
I will definitely add these to my cruise
preparation list! Next cruise in eighty-five days and counting 😎🛳🛳
Love the towel animal idea!
So true!
Love that this came out in my last 48 hours before cruising!
Have fun!!
Haha I hear you
Before travelling I like to take some extra vitamin C supplements, and even recommend packing some powdered vitamin C to bring with me which I can just add to my water bottle, Between jetlag and crowded airports and close quarters on planes, you can be susceptible to colds or viruses which could ruin your trip. Better to boost your immune system in advance,
We have re-watched so many of your videos to be sure that we purchase everything we need on our cruises! Thank you, Illana!
I'm so glad my videos have been helpful as you plan! Thanks for being part of our membership :-)
Great idea!!
Great idea! And even if stores are open, I wouldn't want to go to the store as soon as I get home from traveling.
Wow, good one & thanks for sharing this story
Road Trip Snacks. Apples, Water, Granola... Only kidding, ! Fritos, Crunchie Cheese Puffs, and Peanut M&M's.
👏👏
Peanut M& M's! YES! I think it's the law. I pair mine with Dr. Pepper and Lime cucumber Smartwater! The water is added for hydration.😊😊
Thanks for sharing!!
Same. New to us but I think they’ll be worth the price & space packing ‘em, right?
I use a Zipper Pouch, from Wisdompro (4 Packs) Durable Letter Size Waterproof Mesh File Bag, Document Organizer from Amazon. Wonderful! Sometimes we do side-to-side cruises (like 3 different cruise lines on one long trip) and I put the documents for each cruise in a pouch and label the fronts. Organization is the key and nothing falls out!
Great idea! Just looked them up and ordered!
Thanks for sharing!
Hi llana I do have a suggestion about the folder I buy a folder from dollar tree it has a Ziplock pocket in the front, I started using this for travel it helps me keep my documents organized and helps me not to lose anything
Smart! I’m due for some dollar store shopping
@@LifeWellCruised i would love to see another dollar store videos about what to find for a cruise the cruise hacks again
You are so welcome! So excited for you
I feel prepared for my February trip bc I have her ultimate cruise planner printed
Without it, I’d be lost❤
Absolutely love your videos! I always find a nugget or two to add to my list. One thing we've started doing in preparation for our return home, is to make a small grocery order of the essentials (milk, eggs, bread, etc.) Typically we'll arrange a delivery for around the time we expect to arrive home. Alternatively, we'll arrange for a pick up at the grocery store nearest our home. Grocery shopping is just one thing we don't want to do the minute we get home.
I’m doing a pickup on the 3 hour drive home from Meijer
Amazing!
Good idea!
Remember that if you are 75 or over, you don't have to remove your shoes at security. It's a time saver!
Have an amazing cruise! Please let them know you’ll need wheelchair assistance, they are so good at the port & even on the ship if you need
Great tip!
Lots of banks say it is not necessary these days, but I confirm that
My bank told me to log in to the app as soon as we got to Alaska so the bank knows it’s me
I keep my toiletry bag ready to go.
We want to get away so bad
.
Thanks for sharing! I haven’t used a vpn yet
I recommend buying the larger luggage tags holders. They work for the small tags.
Smart tip
Thanks for sharing your “must-haves”! I do agree 😉😂! Have an amazing cruise & thanks so much for your support & your testimonial 👏
Also, make sure that your passort has more than 6 months left at the end of the cruise
@@pinksnoopydancer Bring state ID as well
We recently spent 2 days in Vancouver before our Alaska cruise. After watching your video about your stay in Vancouver, I decided to spend the $$ and stay in the Pan Pacific hotel near the cruise port. We were SO glad we did! The hotel was lovely and so convenient to everything. Thanks for the recommendation!
Couple's manicure and pedicure has started to be a pre-cruise ritual for us. It's start the vacation off right
Exactly! I’m talking my husband into doing his first pedi. 🦶🏻
He'll enjoy especially the massage chairs u sit in while getting them done
Love that
Gave my hubby a pedi gift certificate for his bday so he had to use it. 😆 he loved it! Fell asleep in the chair. He’s been back a few times too.
I am crusing in November for the first time in over 25 yrs! So excited and your videos have been so helpful.
I'm cruising in November, too. Sun Princess out of Port Everglades! You?
@@nancyruckman5875 I am doing MAS Islander out of port Tampa Bay
Our first cruise is in May and I’ve been watching all your videos and have purchased many items already based on your suggestions. I am confident we will be well prepared!!
I am an avid experienced cruiser. It’s always great to have these type of reminders. Thank you so much and I’ll be packing this weekend. Sailing on Symphony in 2 weeks. 🎉
So exciting!! Enjoy 😊
My grown son did a pedicure and manicure because he is a wrecker builder and grease is something that is hard to get off hands but it worked
Yes, my hubby and I will often go for a "date day" and go for pedicures a few days before we travel! It starts getting us in the mind for vacation!!
Awe love that!!
@@patticulver thanks for sharing this :)

@nancyruckman5875 Thank you!! Looking forward to our 1st Princess cruise!!
Sounds like my "cruise bag". Stuff I only use on a cruise (or other traveling) says packed and ready to go!
I keep my toiletries bag packed. When I return from a trip I refill everything before I put it away. It’s always ready to grab and go.
Packing sunscreen and aloe Vera gel is a must.
I bought an extra charging cable that just stays in my carry-on bag so I never forget it.
I have two sets of packing cubes, one for warm-weather cruises and one for cold-weather cruises. Then I can just pick up the relevant packing cubes for the cruise I'm going on, so it makes it easier to pack my suitcase.
What does this do to help? I mean warm vs cold? Ty
@@pinksnoopydancer It just makes it faster to find all relevant clothing items for each type of cruise so I can just pack the suitcase faster.
44 hours until my next cruise! I love your videos and am pretty prepared, but your videos are so helpful!
Thanks so much for this video we will be on carnival magic this Saturday for 6 days so exciting ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I'm cruising in 19 days can't wait i'm so excited.😂
Don’t forget your medical insurance cards!
I do like the organization of a toiletry bag, but it takes so much room. I use ziplock bags, 1 for OTC meds, 1 for toiletries, 1 for undies. They are great for a small suitcase.
Perfect! Thanks for sharing
I do too!
I make sure to refill my prescriptions as early as insurance will let me so I know I have plenty and I'm not trying to refill last minute.
That’s a good point! Thanks for sharing
I would appreciate a video of you as well as your husband pack in a personal item bag. My better half and I can never agree with what should be packed.
Ok good idea
Our next cruise is Oct 19 on The Valor and I’ve already started getting everything together in one spot! Planning is part of the fun for me!!
I love Kind Bars for snacks. I watch for sales. Especially the dark chocolate cherry.
My favorite is the dark chocolate mocha almond
Always good to have a list for those hectic few days before a cruise 😊
True 👏
Yes- I talked my husband into getting a pedicure several years ago, and now he’s the one who says, ‘isn’t it time for a pedicure?’ So we go together
Hi Ilana, I have been watching your videos in preparation for my first cruise in 40 years, or as I say “in the modern era” . They are fun and helpful. I just bought your guide to get ready! Thanks ❤
We have a 'every cruise' bag in a suitcase with wires plugs all the cruise gadgets. It makes packing easer .
We used to staple them but I bought some of these luggage tag holders a few years ago and I love them!!!
Thank you.
I would appreciate a video of what to pack for flight. Thank you!
Same! Would love to see a packing video!
My husband thinks i have lost my mind!! lol 😂
personal bag and carry on packing would be great. I have a while before I go but I love to watch all the instruction videos. Have fun on your cruise.
I’m going to do that! Thanks for sharing what you’d like to see :)
A shawl/pashmina doubles as a coverup or travel pillow.
like it that you mentioned about grooming before the trip. yes, sometimes that is left too late!
It depends on the bank. Some banks & credit cards don't require it anymore but some still do.
I am so glad I found your channel. I’ve gotten tons of good ideas from you. Thanks for sharing😊
One more thing about electronics. When you are charging them, make sure that they are up to date! It's can be pretty anoying once on the ship with limited internet to realise that there is an update/upgrade going on in the background while you are trying to connect.
Wow good idea
I use chips and chocolate for snacks mainly. I prefer sun chips, cheesies, or the mix stuff. Yum
@@artsywendy Makes perfect sense! Thanks for your reply.
