That white knight line is looking damn good, digging Todd’s approach of picking super specific designs that don’t have other figures.
I Agree. But i want the Arrow_Deathstroke JL Movie_Deathstroke and the Titans season 2_ Deathstroke with all weapons. Plus Black Manta, Clay Face, Doomsday, Darkseid, Bane, Talon,Hush. and Mr Freeze
Calm down, we’re only on wave 2
@@DevonPalmer98 lol yeah agreed. All in due time.
I want Joker.
I cant wait for that set to come out, I might just buy double to get one set signed and one on display
Obscure cool looking characters...
A lot of plastic at a fair price...
I don’t have that Batman...
This guy really does understand adult collectors.
I disagree. Todd does what Todd wants to. Maybe he understands you, but if he understood adult collectors he would give us decent articulation (no, he's not there yet), figures that don't break _in_ the package or as you pull them out, and he would make the figures actually look like the characters. He even talks about kids seeing the toys on the shelf and going *"WOW!"*
Every Batman related figure that was on display looks exactly as they do in their respective comics and games. I knew that was Sean Murphys Batman, Joker and Azrael before he even said it. The same with Batgirl in the previous wave. So I don’t know what you mean by he doesn’t make figures actually look like the characters, because they looks exactly as they’re supposed to in relation to their specific comic book counter parts. I’ve been buying his toys for a long time and have never had a figure break in the package or even in my hand. And the articulation is par for the course for figures at that price point and in some cases has more articulation than Marvel Legends and Black Series. What are you comparing them to? Mezco, Mafex, Revoltech, Figuarts, Hot Toys? If so, you’re using the wrong basis for comparison.
@@Fever_Ghoul The "animated" Batman looked like a mash-up of several different shows, the wave 1 Batman didn't look like anything. _Not a single one_ of the figures in wave one looked like the picture on the reference card that they came with in the box!
Your anecdote of "I've never had a figure break" is meaningless, because plenty of people have (including some UA-cam figure reviewers) and this is a known QC issue.
The articulation is not consistent across the line (much like the scale) and is not as good as Marvel Legends, or some of the Black Series.
Mentocthemindtaker I know this line isn’t for everyone but I’m enjoying what they are doing. are there some stinkers ? Oh yeah! That said, the Nightwing, and the Batgirl, are probably the best DC figures ever (not including imports) and I would also say the Joker who laughs along with the Hellbat suit and Superman Unchained figures are great.
Seriously adult collectors WANT articulation? I dont, I don't play with toys at 40, I like to display these things, if they sculpt it with a great pose, perfect!
Todd is a great businessman. I love how excited and happy he is on camera. I hope he does a Spawn Batman two pack and a Azrael Batman with removable mask and armor pieces to build all the different versions.
Todd can make it happen!
The man is a freakin legend!
Long live the Toddfather!
So happy that Macfarlane is going to get a crack at making Warhammer 40k toys.
Nomadunlimited Yep and I bought the Bandai figure just in case it was the only one made for who knows how many years, but now I won’t have to spend that kind of money regularly with him getting in the game on the brand.
Nomadunlimited I hope he get the jojo license cuz there is only one action figure line for it and it’s stupid expensive
@@ThirdCydonian did the same thing on bigbadtoystore.Cancelled it like flash.
@@pugman9672 Mcfarlane must make Starcraft figures too. How awesome would be that tychus findlay, jim raynor and terran kerrigan will look like!!
@@ThirdCydonian cant wait to have my bandai and mcfarlane side by side
The way Todd is talking about doing big bulky powerhouse characters, i feel as if he was talking directly to me.
I'm glad somebody is trying to break the habit of making big characters only as build-a-figures or [insert store name] exclusives.
I heard hes also only breaking bafs across 4 figures instead of 6 which is awesome.
@@mafiamanveto3004: Exactly. I always hate when Marvel Legends shoehorn a character into a toyline with a good build a figure to make them look important.
Like, what does Bruce Lee knock off... i mean "Shang Shi" had to do with Spider-man's recent wave with Demogoblin? Why did Marvel though fans would like nu-She Hulk on the Fantastic 4 wave instead of the one that actually wore the FF suit??
I hope this means only the characters directly related to the build-a-figure will carry their parts and the rest of the wave is left to *consumer's discretion* .
@@Punisher3-16 god, I'd be all over FF She-Hulk. sweet Glob
@@Ravathiel: I would've bought that one too.
It should have been a no brainer to know that version would've been fitting on the FF wave.
I would've even taken a Herbie done in the style of Spider-ham in the venom wave instead of nu-She hulk.
Todd is 100% right. We all had 50 Superman/Batman figures. But we didn't have that Superman Unchained and Hellbat. And if future waves are as good as these, I am so in. McFarlane has consistently showed that they are willing to explore other methods of articulation and sculpt to work with articulation and I am really glad they got the license away from the cut and paste Mattel line(s?).
i hope mcfarlane bring Batfleck, Cavil, JL movie and all the Snyderverse figures (and the Burtonverse)
ziggyzero That would cold 😬
Not just the Burton-verse, the whole damn 89-97 anthology! I want Keaton, Kilmer and Clooney Bats and their full rogues gallery, all in the same scale! Pfeiffer's Catwoman stood next to Carrey's Riddler, DeVito's Penguin lurking next to Arnie's Freeze, Nicholson's Joker meeting Jones' Two Face! I want them all. And throw in a Chris O'Donnel Robin and Alicia Silverstone Batgirl too, why not?
Same I’d hope he can do the upcoming Batman as well
Raimi spiderman punching sandman bust
I would own multiple. The trinity8s my favorite team, and the BvS designs are some of tye best we've seen.
Todd McFarlane: Speaks
Me: Yup
" Yes "
Honestly could not agree more
I consider Todd a huge celebrity, artist, and legend - so it's weird to know he hanging out at trade show booths with a lanyard around his neck. Interesting guy.
Todd is a genius with his marketing. Cant wait to see different versions of these characters rather then the mainstream!
Injustice 2 Bane would be cool
Seems that Todd has gotten much friendlier as he's aged.
Paul Bujak he’s always been friendly, he’s just less in your face and has acts less like he’s on the defense all the time
The Todd Father. I've been collecting since Todd Toys. The guy changed the comic and toy business. So dope we'll be getting more Spawn figs.
He is daddy
Yes sir, I had lost interest with mcfarlane toys, but it seems he is getting back to the cool stuff like spawn, monsters, dragons etc... I might even consider a DC figure although I dont collect them, he should try to get the Marvel line as well, I'm definitely gonna join the Spawn kickstarter
I like how Todd McFarlane thinks. Pretty on the nose when it comes to collectors. I like the idea of doing a remake of classic figures too, but I need that sweet articulation to bring it on home. Without it, its more or less just a statue. A cool statue, but a statue none the less.
All of his new stuff has a lot more articulation, most of them have 22 moving parts.
@@lowertoaster9718 I know, but I'm talking about those Spawn figures near the end there. They don't look very posesble.
@@OzzieAstaroth it's a prototype. The finished one will be articulated
Such a great man and creative mind.
One thing I’ve gotta say about Todd McFarlane, he’s definitely passionate about his brands. He really knows how to draw the viewer in with his descriptions and plans about upcoming releases and projects Under the McFarlane toy brand
Look at Todd......look at that man......LOOK AT HIM!!!!
I did. I watched the video, did I not?
Todd Mcfarlane is a comic artist living legend next only to Bob Kane and Stan Lee.
I read this in David Crockett's voice.
@@firdausali8625 And Jack Kirby.
Todd has passion in his eyes !!
True Legend in this industry
When I was super young back in the 90's all the Spawn toys used to totally memorize me...💯✔ So getting a digitally remastered edition of them would be super sweet...👍🏼
Yes, hope people support the kickstarter, I wanna see the viking age, dark age, samurai wars and the Pharoah's lines redone, I would buy every single one of those
Mesmerize?
Did he say "amalgamate"? My mind went straight to "Dark Claw" and "Super-Soldier". And "Speed Demon".
Who even has the license to those guys? Marvel or D.C.?
@@dogman5028 Given that the Amalgam characters were fusions of Marvel and DC heroes(and Amalgam was a crossover thing of theirs), probably both companies. so for official figures to get made, you'd need both to agree.
@@malcomalexander9437 Makes sense.
Remake the medieval spawn and I’m in lol. Actually I was already in as soon as that hellbat Batman caught me.
He plans on doing the entire series 1 spawn line, so spawn, medievil spawn, violator, clown, and overtkill.
ryan turney oh my gosh!
The new amazing Kickstarter spawn is up, if that does amazing (it’s doing great already) they will do a new Sir John and violator and Overtkill and etc
@@PunchCounterpunch_Lizzy They will do medievil spawn i think you are trying to say not Sir john lol
Todd is like Tom Hanks in Big. A kid, with business chops, who stumbled into the toy business.
Hey Pixel Dan, thanks for bringing this man on screen. It is nice to give a legend a face, much appreciated!
Tortured Souls! Twisted Land of Oz! I still have those in my parents’ basement somewhere :)
Edit: munchkins!
Awesome Buddy, i cant wait for the arkham Batman and Joker and the White Knight Batman. Hope for Deathstroke
That has to be a huge compliment hearing that from Todd.
Lol, he was schmoozing.
Mentocthemindtaker well I would be schmoozed! Ha
@@MrLeelandrain Oh man, yeah. He's been in the toy and comic industry for so long now it's probably second nature. He's an excellent business man, so it's probably automatic and not intentional.
Mentocthemindtaker Maybe not but I’m not going to take that away from him. He seems to have a presence with all the vendors and they are all really excited to see him. We can be negative Nancy’s about it but I’m going give him the W. Ha
This is like a picture with a president kind of moment Not a life time achievement award. Still cool little thing to feel good about. Ha
Man, the enthusiasm of this guy! He's like a 20 year old. He's such a cool dude and the DC toys look super dope.
AWESOME VIDEO DAN
KICKSTARTER ALL THE WAY HERE I COMEEEEEEE GREAT INTERVIEW PIXEL DAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I know it’s a dead horse, but I wish these where 6” instead of 7”. Love his enthusiasm , glad he has upped articulation. I will continue grab more monsterous or large characters than I can squeeze in my 6” scale shelves.
Man I hope they do movie maniacs and torture souls remastered!!!
I very much look forward to those plastic statues to add to my old McFarlane plastic statues.
@@Mentocthemindtaker
Yeah, seriously. I'm _totally_ good on all that. A little company called NECA picked up were Todd left off nearly two decades ago and did a little trick called evolving.
@@Chalor. You're not wrong. But where NECA has evolved continuously, McFarlane Toys has been dragged kicking and screaming into the 21st century.
I love how genuinely excited he is about his own product and the thought he puts in on choosing characters. Very fun to see what he’ll be putting out in the future.
I've been checking kickstrarter everyday lol. Thank you for asking when Spawn is going up!!!
How does it feel to know you just had the greatest interview of your career and you didn't have to lift a finger?!
these figures look HEEELLL AWESOME I LOVE IT GOING TO BUY MORE OF THEM HOPE THAT HE COMES OUT WITH MORE DARK KNIGHT METALS FIGURES
This is one hell of an interview. Great job, Dan!
Todd is da man - a true pro and businessman :)
GREAT INTERVIEW as always Dan! Todd is such a character. Great designs. Definitely picking up some of these DC figures
Love the way Todd thinks and the excitement in him discussing all his future plans
I love Todd’s excitement.
Been waiting for this one!!
Oh how lucky you are to be able to interact with Todd Mcfarlane. I wish i had the opportunity to meet with such a legend!! Excited to hear that spawn figures are coming out can't wait for the starter release of the remake version of spawn.
Thanks for the upload Dan! What I really dig about Todd is he seems as hyped about toys as I do. The DC multi-verse, DooM Marauder, Mortal Kombat (BARAKA!!) etc. etc., I haven’t been as excited for action figure releases as for these in quite a while.
I'm glad to see that one of my favorite properties WITH DC is on good hands with someone passionate and educated with Todd. Excited to see what's to come.
BELIEVE ME GUYS I HAVE SEEN OTHER TODDS INTERVIEWS and he has said that if articulation is what we want thats what were gonna get
Todd McFarlane is always the best over everyone else in these interviews, the way he talks toys and goes in depth is unparalleled..
I really do love watching Todd in interviews. He’s always excited about what he’s doing, he’s insightful, he always just seems really happy in whatever situation he’s in. It just always gets me excited about toys and comics when I watch one of his interviews. Can’t wait for wave 2 of the DC figures and I’m excited to see what happens with the Spawn kick starter.
I could listen to this man all day.
Guy is a legend, but he seems like a super nice humble guy! So glad he's bringing back the cool stuff
Todd finally met you!!! Great stuff! 😊
Great interview! Love Todd’s energy and thought process. Really digging DC Multiverse and can’t wait to see what comes next!
It's funny because i've been collecting Spawn for over 15 years (I have literally every Spawn, including variants) and I often look at my series 1 figures and think "It would be so boss to have updated versions of all these original characters in vintage packaging", and BOOM, it's actually a possibility! I'm excited, bruh. Really excited. I want a Tremor figure that is just MASSIVE and detailed!
The genius that is Todd. He really appreciates what fans want, which makes me love him even more.
He's a living legend.
got to love todd if you get an interview you get the entire experience
The passion alone out of this guy makes me want everything he pots out.
Toy fair is killing it this year! First the Fox Xmen Marvel Legends & Now we're getting White Knight figures!?
I have watched a few of Todds interviews, and he albout value, and giving the buyer more then anyone else. Great guy.
One of the greatest businessmen of all times the creator of one of the greatest characters of all times this guy is a genius thanks for the interview Dan
Creator of... Surely you're not talking about Spawn. He would never win any vote for greatest character. Or even top 25.
Spawn is widely considered the greatest independent comic book superhero
I've seen a bunch of other tours of the mcfarlane booth but I love hearing todd and his enthusiasm so I'll watch this one too
I hope this blows up & allows more cheaper toys because spawn & how McFarlane made his first ones blew many companies out the water with detail, price & even the nor so articulated spawn covers I still love & have with older ones. Glad I’ve helped support this man since a child. Glad to see a comic artist thrive & also collab with companies to improve them & truthfully give us insight how it works & the issues with making what collectors want.
I'm so happy they are using artist's styles to design the figures. It really opens up almost unlimited possibilities These Sean Murphy Batman White Knight figures are for sure a preorder for me. McFarlane toys have just become one of my must collect companies. Great Interview Dan!!!
"I do a little bit of drawing."
It's great to see Todd's excitement for it all, and wanting to do cool toys at decent prices
This is like when you have super heroes team ups: two of my favourite characters ever, in the same shot😂 Todd, Dan, you're both awesome!!!!!
Really amazing how much Todd understands products and the way people buy toys. He could've been a comic book artist for his entire life but he always wanted more and now he's essentially a businessman mogul. Sad we lost him working on Spider-man, entirely understand why he wanted to do so much more with his many talents.
Nice interview with the legends the man todd macfarlane...pixel dan well articulated.
Man Todd is such a great guy, thanks for this interview you both have chemistry excellent job
Excellent segment Dan. I've got to go to this show one of these years.
I hadn't seen Todd probably since he was in the old Wizard magazines I used to buy in high school. No idea these toys even existed til now. They look great.
Love Todd McFarlene's enthusiasm. Been a fan of his since the 80's and that Spider Man comic cover. Thanks for the interview. Need to get a few of this toys!
Todd Mcfarlane is just such a cool down to earth guy. This guy has achieved what most people can only dream of, and he didn't let his success change him. This man is a true artist, and a inspiration.
Congratulations I'm a german fan of yours since the "That new toy smell" -days and after your interview with Kevin Smith I see you know with Todd McFarlane. This guy is very kind and professional and also an artist and a star. Imagine someone like him for Masters of the Universe!
damn if he's gonna upgrade some the old movie maniacs stuff I would so love a updated Brundle Fly with super articulation !!
Todd is on point, a man with a vision and is making it exciting for fans and collectors. Meanwhile over at SW Hasbro... lack of focus, a lack of new exciting products and consistently dropping the ball which is really creating a huge disconnect with fans. Thanks for this wonderful interview!
Todd seems like a cool dude I would spark a joint with him and just chop it up about the creation ideas for Spawn, future films, and toys ✍🧠🧶✏💡😄🎨
It's safe to assume nobody will miss Mattel's DC line.
Richard Chesswas At first I did because I was so used to the marvel line and characters, But after watching reviews and hearing how smart Todd is, I can gladly say bye to Mattel.
@@shofuyu_niceguy1 Amen to that dude!
I will
I do. They were FINALLY making moves to modernize the line :(
Wow wow wow!!! Interview with THE MAN himself!!!! Todd Father!!! My favorite video from your channel so far!!!!
Thank you 10-yr old Todd. You really know how both kids and collectors want their toys to be. Always best bang for the buck in the market.
I'm so geeked just hearing everything he said. DC is in amazing hands. And I'm definitely gonna buy that revamped retro spawn.
I like Todd’s persona , great kind smart individual
I've thought for the longest time that Batman as he appears in White Knight would make a cool toy. It's great to see McFarlane Toys make that a reality!
Mount C And that Batmobile....what??? Man I would love to see McFarlane’s version.
Todd, please make a Keaton box set with scaled '89 Batmobile!! and a Jack Nicolson Joker, if you can get Nicolson to sign his likeness over.
I want every Batman and every villain from the whole damn 89-97 movie series!
@@stevenfraser81 i just want the first movie characters. honestly, at this point, i'd settle for just a 1:12 scale 1989 Batmobile. A batman and joker to go with it would be nice, though. Idk why companies refuse to make vehicles in scale. makes no sense.
It’s only a matter of time brother... we’ll get it
@@0826man fingers crossed.
Would it be any better than the NECA 89 Batman, though?
Oh man...what a treasure! I had a huge smile watching this. So good. 👍
Thanks for all the updates & coverage Dan Man!! Talking NECA.. Are there going to be a 1/4 Scale Splinter & KC Jones & Super Shredder w/ his own mutants Tokka & Rahzar?!?!?! Super excited and anxious to know please.. also Tatsu!! the right hand man to shredder in the movie..
HI Toddy, hi Danny!!1 I knew Toddy would have a shining star in this new line and it is...Hallbat! absolutely great!! Thanks to Amazon. My most anticipated choice for what you can do Toddy is a classic Captain Marvel and the Martian Manhunter. Oh yes, and Deathstoke the terminator.
The Toddfather speaks. I listen.
Nice interview as always Dan!
That chocolate bar analogy is the best selling point hehehehe
That’s gonna be awesome talking to the legend himself!
I cant wait to get an extra dragon. Todd is THE MAN!I've been collecting his action figures over 20+ years
What a legend! Todd was pretty cool as well.
Spawn is coming back in a major way! Todd needs to reintroduce Spawn to the younger generation!
New updated spawn toy looks dope for last 20 years spawn is one my favorite heroes
Dan this was amazing... You the master of figure reviews and Todd father the king of toys. Great job. You never let me down. Wow
Todd McFarlane looks like and has the personality of a real life "real" Peter Parker.
I’m still unsure how anyone can dislike these figures. The upcoming or what we already got. It’s great stuff and for a good price as well!
I love listening to Todd talk!
I could listen to that guy talk all day, also that guy could talk all day lol
Thank you Dan that was 😎
Dude, I'm so excited that they're making White Knight action figures.
Todd has a heart for a simple collector who creates toys with ur money's worth, you must live for 200 years!!....making Baf or CnC parts for only 3 or 4 figs only..wow todd really is the man.
McFarlane Toys been killing it for years.
I've never been jealous of who you get to meet until now.
totaly agreed with him, he's a true artist and understands what collectors need...trully one of a kind guy
I'm actually pretty excited for the white knight figures and arkham ones. azreal looks amazing. Mcfarlane is a genius and you can tell hes an actual collector.
