Barbara maybe if you use a balloon as your base. You don’t have to cover it with plastic wrap.
I am now going to my fabric drawer to find scraps! Love Love Love this bowl!
Have fun! ❤️
So cute Barbara. You are the best instructor thank you so much.
I was thinking that maybe putting down a couple of layers of canvas before your decorative fabrics would strengthen your project.
Thanks! Yes, that might have helped…
Barbara, you are lovely. Thank you for sharing your oops, blunders, and recoveries with us.
Absolutely wonderful! So many possibilities! Thanks again dear Barbara,❤️🤗🤩🥰😍
This is gorgeous! And I love Ephy. TFS 🥰
I love this!!! I’m definitely doing this. ❤❤❤❤❤
Im going to try 3 layers. 1st for pretty interior, 2 nd muslin or ugly fabric for strength, 3 rd for basket exterior. Thanks for your video.
You could add some additional fabric around the rim so you can fold it over on the outside of the bowl on order to give it some sturdiness.
For Christmas 2 years ago, I made the rope bowls for everyone. Even my son in laws. My best friend loved it. When she showed her husband, he told her she couldn’t use it. It was too beautiful. They needed to hang it on a wall. Lol. They were really fun to make. But by the time I was done, I was DONE. The Scraps bowl looks like a lot of fun too. I might have to try one. ♥️♥️♥️
That is awesome! 😃❤️
I would use layers of newspaper between the fabric pieces to stiffen the bowl and a glass bowl works well too. Love your full videos. Thanks
Thanks for the tip! 😃❤️
Great little accessory for upcoming Dephemereber. Really nice❤
Barbara, I love your uncut videos, mistakes and all! It makes me feel better to know I’m not the only one who needs to rethink my projects. 😊
Your basket turned out so amazing. You’re a true artisan! ❤
Thanks so much! ❤️😃
we have plastic wrap that's recyclable and breaks down in Australia.
That’s fantastic! ❤️
Love this bowl, marvelous job.
A disposable plastic shower cap would work well also. Barbara thank you for sharing.❣🤗🇺🇸
Oh it’s just adorable! It turned out perfect and will be so fun to see as you are crafting in December! Hugs 🤗❤️
Fabulous bowl. Can’t wait for Dephemerember to start. It’s going to be so much fun.
What a beautiful bowl! I'm happy Ephy was able to reside in the bowl after all. TFS! Hugs from South Dakota, USA 🤗
Barbara, Barbara, Barbara...love...love...love...your Dephemerember Basket. Adorable with your Ephy charm🥰
So cute! I really like the flexibility of the bowl. Fabric glue is made to dry flexible so it is comfortable next to your skin Put the basket it perfect.
I love your fabric bowl also! This is going to be a really fun dephemerember 2023! 🧡🤗❤️
Such a cute bowl/basket, Barbara!💙 I always forget these types of projects. I have soooo much cotton fabric(& old jeans), & jars of Mod Podge I'll probably never use before they dry out. This would be a fantastic project to do with my teen grandkids! AND it would help "de-stash" some clutter.😉 Thanks for the inspiration!💙💛💙
So happy you feel inspired! Have fun! ❤️
Love it! Great idea. Thanks! The build-up to Dephemerember is so exciting! Thank you ❤️🇨🇦
You are right ....now I want to create one too. I love how yours turned out and watched what Luise did also and loved hers as well.
Beautiful basket you made. Take care, be safe.
Love this! The handles are wonderful. I may give this messy project a go.
Poor Effy, patience is a virtue Barbara. 😂
Your bowl turned out great Barbara! I love the way you overcame the unexpected little oops! ♥
Oh it's so cute, I've made fabric into rope and done bowls, baskets and wreaths before but not this yet. Saw a comment below suggesting a balloon which sounds good, you can pop the balloon afterwards! He's so adorable😍. I don't have time to watch everyone😫. Yes, the paper makes a huge difference! Yes a balloon would work, we've used tissue paper like this a lot then pop it lol. Also your image and inside would be smooth. Yeah I have a craft turntable, very handy. Yes great gift idea 💡. Yes I'm a fan of stamping and stencilling on fabric. Oh no 🙈 poor little guy! Maybe more layers or a layer of wadding in between would stiffen it. The eyelets look so CUTE 😍. Yes the cropodile is a worthwhile investment! I need ball chain closures, keep forgetting them 🙈. I LOVE it Barbara, I'm definitely going to have to make one at some point, don't let me forget lol. Tfs and have a great day 💖💖💖
In Luise’s video I commented I needed to go to Joanne’s. I have friends that quilt, surely they have scraps I could use. Love how both your bowls turned out. It is getting exciting for Dephemerember to start. Thanks for sharing.
This looks like soo much fun - when I get a change to make one - thanks a lot - adorable ..
Watched both of your videos and am now making mine! So much messy fun!
Have fun! 😃❤️
How very cute is this Barbara, thank you for sharing this lovely idea. The fabric choices are beautiful and they all compliment each other so well. Both yours and Luise’s bowls are so unique. Looking forward to 20th November for the prompt list, as I would like to join in this year. Take care and stay blessed.❤
I love the bowl. Will look great in your craft room any time of year
Liebe Barbara ❤
so super süß, dein Korb 😍.
Vielen Dank für's zeigen 😊
Freunde mich schon auf Dephemerember 2023🥰😘
Ganz liebe Grüße
Karola
i love this bowl and i cannot wait to see what Luise creates - thank you Barbara - December 1st cannot come quick enough lol
Thank you for another inspiring and A-M-A-Z-I-N-G idea!!! I love it so much!!!
awwwww ❤ your bowl turned out absolutely adorable! this was so funny to watch, we had so many same issues and thoughts. well… doesn’t really surprise me though
❤ So so super cute. What a wonderful idea!! It’s so creative. Love it! 😊
They are Wicked ❤ we did theses as kids with balloons and paper pieces to make masks so I’m sure they would also work if u just go half way up the balloon then u can just pop it, or use sellotape, or carrier bags but I love ur bowl it’s amazing ❤xx
I love the fabric basket. Definitely want to make one💕🇨🇦
Have fun! 😃❤️
Your bowl turned out so cute!!
You were totally right. I am desperate to try it out. Absolutely lovely
Love this adorable, beautiful basket. 👍🏻👍🏻
Hallo Babara,
eine tolle Idee! Die Kombination aus
Ballonlaternen herstellen und Brotkorb nähen. 👍Ich glaub ich
mach's nach! Einen schönen Wochenstart. Heidi
Viel Spaß damit! 😃❤️
Barbara, is there a specific model of the Crop-o-dile that you recommend? There are so many! Thank you ❤ P.S. You asked. Your viewers (?) if we are looking forward to Dephemerember? YES! I love it so much and can’t wait!! ❤ Kris
If you can, I would get the Big Bite from WeRMenoryKeeoers, so you can reach far.
Thank you Barbara!!
I've done this as well. I found with smallish plastic containers like peanut butter, marshmallow fluff. I used the large zip lock plastic bags. I'd put bag on outside and stuff the top into the jar. They stayed better and I could reuse the plastic bag. Yhey also came off easily enough. I was worried because the plastic jar wasn't as flexible. But it worked!! Love your
Videos!!❤
That's a great idea! 😃❤️
Fun!!!❤
Barbara: I made a bowl out of paper years ago for a sample to show children. My bowl was round which was a lot easier to do. It was so much fun and the children loved it. Also, after painting it inside and out (two different colors), I took a black magic marker and drew a simple design on the inside top edge of the bowl. The whole project was so easy and fun to create. Using fabric is something I will try now. I really like the idea. Carol from California
Cover your bowl/shape with a clear plastic bag and you will not have a problem with it not covering. Best to you.
Thanks! ❤️
Such a cute idea!
Fun project
Oh gosh so adorable 👍🏻
Love this.
love this idea
❤❤❤
Love your bowl, what if you used a glass bowl . would that better Hugs Bonnie
Yes, that would work 😃
Sounds awesome to use a balloon.
Your basket is PERFECT and Ephy is SO precious! Love you, baby girl, hugs, MomK 🤗❤️🌵❤️🤗
Love how your bowl ended up. Especially the cute handles. I think Ephy will feel right at home there (when he’s not pushing scraps out of his way so he can peek at what you’re doing. I think you need to add a version of him peeking over the edge to watch you creating 😁🐭
Love that! 😃❤️
At my first care job I looked after a lady called Effie. Beautiful project. I love it 💜
I made similar organizers several times in the past so there is no novelty for me in the project itself, but you magically ignited a spark in me and I want to make some again. What contagion some people have in them to be able to motivate others so easily (no matter what project they work on and how experienced they are themselves in the techniques)? If I will get a bawl with too flexible edges, I will try to add a cord or wire threaded through holes with eyelets. Or maybe I’ll go around by hand with a blanket stitch.
Great ideas! 😃❤️ Happy to be contagious 😃
These would make lovely gifts, and my granddaughter and I will have a great crafting session making some.
Late to the party as always... But I'm very happy to be catching the dephemerember excitement. Love the bowl. It works so well. Thank you!
Well, now I need a fabric bowl!! This is just wonderful.
Oh my goodness Barbara., I Love everything about this basket. You and Luise are both so talented. So excited for this series., ❤❤❤
So so cute!! 🥰 What a great idea! I wonder if you glued the scraps to cardstock or used Heat n Bond before you decoupage them onto the bowl, if you would have a stiffer bowl...although I kind of love how flexible yours turned out. 😍 It's perfect!
Great ideas. You should try them! 😃❤️
I am gathering fabric scraps now! 🥰@@49dragonflies
Oh my goodness Barbara. I love everything about this basket. You and Luise both are so very creative. Thank you for the free Ephy
SO CUTE!!! It's a chilly, gloomy day here in Midwest USA - perfect for makin' a fabric bowl.
Love how your bowl came out. The handles were a great idea!!
So süss🥰
Oh I love that so much Barbara. Maybe if you cut a piece of plastic or even the carton you showed us and slip that between the layers it may be a little more sturdy but your bowl is fabulous and the charm is gorgeous. Good job xxx
II DEPHEMEREMBER MARATHON ( 2022), by me 🐝❣I DO LOVE 💞 U❣ BARBRA & LUISE
❤❤❤ the bowl is so gorgeous sweetie! And Ephy is just so cute and adorable 😍 a great idea!
Very nice. The handles and charm just made it more adorable
How sweet!! I love using fabric. I can't wait for December!!
Ich liebe dein Körbchen, das ist so niedlich und Ephy als Anhänger, das ist einfach so goldig. Die Libelle passt toll dazu 😍
In the US, we have plastic butter or whipped cream tubs the same shape as your basket. Those would give you the same result without endangering your basket. This is a great idea, especially with Ephy on the bottom!
Love! love! love! your bowl especially Ephy!!😊 now off to watch Luise's video
Ephy would have been cute printed on shrinky dink material and then shrunk down for a charm!
I think I will make a papier mache base, then apply the fabric over the dried base. The finished piece will not be fabric-like, but sturdy.❤ Love this idea and your great bowl! Thank you Barbara!😊
I love how the bowl turned out, especially the denim accents. I wonder if you put a layer of paper between the two fabric layers it would make the sides sturdier without wasting your precious fabric.
That's a great idea! 😃❤️
Absolutely adorable! Looks like you’re ready to go! Happy Crafting!!!
Beautiful work. I really didn’t have time to watch your series over the holiday, but have time now to get started with the project!❤
Your bowl is just adorable with Ephy in the bottom! I think if will have to make one, or more, now!💕🇨🇦
Have fun! 😃❤️
That takes me back to the 80s when we used this fabric stiffener called Stiffy to make bows and... well bowls and stuff. It dries rock hard. I only did it once. I had a look and still have a full bottle of the stuff. Not sure I'll make a bowl, but perhaps.
Go for it! 😃❤️
Ive been out from watching your videos this summer. Stressful summer. Son has been in and out of the hospital since May and I didnt watch very many artists this summer. Checked in to see what was happening with Dephemerember. Cute little mascot! And I love this basket! Exciting!
Thanks! Sorry to hear about your son. I hope he will be ok! ❤️
Sehr schöner Korb. Tolle Idee.
Liebe Grüße Melanie von Löwinstein ART Berlin ❤
Hi, wieder ein schönes Projekt von Dir. LG Alex
A gallon milk jug would work too. Love the video. Bless you
I forgot to say cut the top off.
That became a beautiful bowl!
You are so right, now I want to go create a bowl! But, alas it is late and time for sleep. Your bowl is so beautiful. Thanks for the inspiration.
Have fun! 😃❤️
This bowl is totally gorgeous!!!🥰
