Whomever receives this journal & its gorgeous cover made by you will truly be blessed!! 💙🦋💙 TYFS your techniques on making fabric covers...you always make the process less intimidating for me!! ❤🤗
I love the crunchy sounds of the crinkly paper. ❤
Thank you for NOT adding music to the fast parts. I love the sound of the paper even at high speed 😆 🤣
Me too!
The Blue Cover was absolutely beautiful. It was fun seeing you experimenting with the blue watercolor.
Love it girlfriend!! An old fashioned eyelet setting tool and hammer works beautifully! I have a crop a dial but still use my old setter...love you!! ♥️♥️
Quite like the lovely blue and white one!
Blue is my favourite colour, so of course I adore this cover!! 💙
Barbara that blue journal was Gorgeous! I'm sure the new owner will cherish it.
You had the right ideal using a hammer,, For the future, you need to get a cheap, hand,, eyelet setter. It's a short, silver, metal stick, that has a "nub" on the end, it splits apart the back of the eyelets.
Or as some have suggested, you could invest in the big bite. 🤔 after years of the hammer, I went straight to BB. 🤩
Barbara, those are so beautiful. 💙 Is my favorite color. I love both of them. Thanks for sharing. Love you too.👍🤗🤗🤗🤗
Oh wow, das Cover sieht wundervoll aus. Ich liebe es, Paperbags für Journale zu benutzen. Muss ich auch unbedingt mal wieder machen. Danke für die tolle Anleitung 🥰
The blue pulled me in, but I REALLY enjoyed this tutorial. It’s so nice that you shared parts where you struggled. 💙💙💙
Thank you Barbara for a superb video. I truly love all that you do. Thanks so much for sharing this with us. Take care xx
Hello Barbara, love the cover, it is fabulous. I adore the butterflies. TFS
Good morning 👋😊 49 dragonflies 🌹 Love your junk Journals especially the one with the Fox 🦊 on the cover Thank you for sharing them all enjoy your day and week ahead too 👍☺️🌹💌🦄👋
Barbara, absolutely stunning!! So inspiring too!!! Thank you!!!
👍👍Both of them are fabulous, and I'm crazy about the blue & white! Congrats to the lucky new owner. I love the way you try new ideas and make them work and then share your creativeness and daring with us.🤗🥰
For the eyelet you can get the cropodile big bite for long reach or you can get eyelet settting kits that have a tool that you bang and it makes the edges curl around to secure the inner bit.
Love your realness by showing your fails. This turned out beautiful.
I absolutely love both versions & am wondering why I've never done a large paper bag cover...one more thing for my to-do list. Thanks for the detailed instructions & not editing out the booboos. Hazel
The cover is beautiful.
These are so lovely! The first journal reminds me very much of a rolled journal I saw a year or so ago... REALLY COOL! Love you angel, MomK ♥️🤗🌵
Beautiful cover. I enjoy watching you overcome various potential problems.
Love the blue journal cover. Thanks LouAnn 🌻
I love them both, but I love the artsy cover the most. You really are so good at overcoming obstacles instead of starting over from the beginning. Which in turn makes your projects so much more interesting. Thank you 🙏
I love the blue embroidered cover. How you added the extra fabric and doilies. With the paint splatters it has alot of personality. Beautiful!! 💚💚💚
Thank you for doing this video. Both journals are beautiful.
I loved watching the blue cover come together. Very creative. The scalloped blue edging set it off. Someone is going to be mighty lucky.
I absolutely love your blue and cream colored journal. I really liked how you solved the problem of adding your ties-so creative. Your other journal cover is also so pretty-who would think about adding bubble wrap into the inside. I really enjoy your channel. Thanks for sharing.
The blue journal cover is amazingly beautiful, really! I appreciate how you show your hiccups along the way. Thank you, Barbara⚘️💙
Barbara: although you don’t use blue a lot in your color schemes, it is still the favorite color of most people. This journal is quite nice. The person who will receive it will be overjoyed to get it, especially since it was created by you. I loved the fact you used a stained table cloth. Good going! Carol from California
Wow sweetie, was so special to watch 💙🦋💙 now that I have this cover in my hands, knowing exactly how you created it 🤗💕🤗💕🤗 it means a lot to me, it is so super gorgeous and special. Thank you. I will take good care of it and I'm going to fill it with special pages 💝 hugs sweetie
Thanks sweetie! So happy you like it! ❤️ I k is it’s in good hands with you! 🥰
I loved watching the process of making this cover. It gave me so many ideas! I had never noticed the beads holding the ribbons on your other journal. Inspired!
Barbara, Hanni must have one of the large Crop-a-Dile Big Bite. I enjoyed watching the process. I love Hanni’s journal with the hole in the spine.
Thanks again for all your effort and sharing. ❤️🤗😘🥰😍
Both journal covers are beautiful!
Morning Barbara, hope you are well and keeping yourself safe. I am having my first cup of coffee "with" you and enjoying seeing your create another gorgesso cover. I am so sad we won't see the adventure you have with her, she is going to be an awesome chubby baby, she is beautiful, the colouring and the cloth are lovely. Your 2nd little cover is cute too, maybe we will be in on her adventure with you???? Hope so, it will be fun to see how she turns out. You have inspired me to try one, (I have soooooo many bags I keep collecting!!!) as soon as I am finished a Journal for a friend in USA entitled Ode to Africa. ANYHOOOOOOO, my crafty friend, stay well and safe and, as always, Blessings and hugs from Cape Town. Diana
Oh my goodness, love the blue grungy butterfly cover. I have a pillowcase my Grandma embroidered. I’ve been saving it. Now I know why. It will be a perfect cover. The second one is exquisite. Wouldn’t that make a beautiful journal to give as a wedding gift for their wedding memories? Another great video Thank you Barbara ❤️❤️
That cover is beautiful Barbara! Love all the blue.
As always… just beautiful!
Love the blue butterfly 🦋 🦋 cover 💙
I appreciate how you adjust and make things work. Lovely blue color.
This is beautiful work and I love it.
Liebe Barbara ein wunderschönes Cover. Prima jetzt habe ich die Idee für die geschenkten tischdecken. Danke für die Inspiration.
Hi Barbara! One of the things I admire most on you is how brave you are! You are able to try things I would never think of and in front of the camera! I love watching your videos! Thank you so much for helping me try to be braver on my junk journals ! Happy Saturday! ♥️
Barbara love them both. The grey and white is precious
I love how this journal cover turned out. I have several size grocery bags and you’ve inspired me to give this a try! 🌸💞
Both of those Journal's are beautiful they sent you....wow. I'm in love with the Blue one.
Going back and watching videos I've missed and loved this cover.
Wow great cover.. whoever gets it is lucky 👍🏻
I really love both of these covers and will try this technique. I was wanting to make a summer journal and I think this is the answer. Thank you Barbara for sharing the links to other artists whose instruction you find helpful. I am reluctant to sew paper on my sewing machine, not sure why but the more I watch it being done, the more comfortable I feel. Here I go! 😃
Thanks! Just go for it! 😃❤️
I love how both covers turned out. Problem solving on video is stressful, no doubt, but it really helps us think through our own creative problems. It encourages us to just try things. TFS, Barbara.
I love both of your fabric covers. I kept yelling to you to put blue on the butterflies. And you heard me. But I never thought about the stamps from the Field Notes. That was such a cool thing to do!! These two Journals you have are so full of inspiration. I love them both. One thing I did with my ribbon and bead was I used my awl. The tip of the awl was small enough to push the ribbon through. Then I just trimmed up the ends of the ribbon. Can’t wait to watch the Upholstery Journal come together. I love both of your Journals.
I love them both! Beautiful journal covers! Thanks for the inspiration!
Thanks for sharing how you mad it. Lucky person who will be getting it
Love the blue one. Can’t wait to make grunge with color!
wow the ble cover is just gorgeous, i love every oart of itm thank you for showing the process of using a grocery bag for the cover with the inside flap i will definitly try that out next
I love how you struggle with decisions as well..makes it real and I can tell your still smiling. It does always seem to work out in the end. The journal turned out beautiful. Thanks hugs
I love how the blue cover turned out. It's gorgeous. The more neutral one is beautiful too... It's elegant.
Enjoyed seeing your creative process Barbara! Always fun and definitely found inspiration here. TFS
Love this, fantastic…very brave to cut of the fabric, not sure I could do that..you have done a marvelous job. Thanks for sharing this!.❤️❤️
Barbara, this journal cover is pretty awesome!! I love the way you stamped the butterflies and I have that same Tim Holtz stamp set which I haven't even used yet. I have started buying textiles, tablecloths, linens like this in thrift stores and antique stores and have amassed a pretty good collection. Now, I just need to get daring like you have with this project and start putting the linens to good use. Thank you so much for your inspiration. Your work is just brilliant. Blessings to you, Carol Schneider
Thanks Carol! Have fun experimenting 😊❤️
Absolutely gorgeous, what a great teaching video... I am sure there are those that will say, I would have done this or I would have done that, but you know what... good on you for having a go and filming it as well... Thank you so much for sharing...
The journal you made is beautiful! I love how you grunged it up. If I lived closer I would let you borrow my eyelet setter 😉 I love that you just kept going and made it work! That in itself is very inspiring! Thank you! The 2nd journal is pretty too.
Thanks Tonya, that’s very sweet of you! How fun it would be if we lived closer 😊
Dear Barbara, I love both of your journals. 🥰
As we already talked about I did the second eyelit with my big crop a dile.
Am so happy that you give all your information about testing things to us.
Thank you, my dear! 😘
Thank you Hanni! ❤️
Big bite will fix this job or the old school eyelet setter tool. What a beautyfull cover👍❤
It is 3:00 in the morning, but it is so nice to have an episode from you to watch while I can’t sleep. I love blue and white, so I loved the fabrics before dying. I also love the grungy, vintage vibe. It will be a fabulous journal.
Wow.
I loved the splatters of blue..made all the difference. Beautiful.
Love the use of the watercolor spray. Gorgeous work.
Love these journals.
Gorgeous journal Barbara!
I love children’s books. These are fabulous ❤️ I absolutely love the blue journal. I wondered if anyone else cut up clothes for fabric 🤣 Plus, I really appreciate that you are so humble to share what didn’t work. That way when we do that, we know it’s not the end of the world 😍
Love love love this cover!
What a great video. You really are excellent at teaching. 😍 While both are beautiful covers, the second is my favorite. It also feels less intimidating to make 😁 Thanks, Barbara 💕
I absolutely love both of these covers. I was really wondering what was going to happen with the blue water colour. And of course it turned out to be a lovely addition. I particularly like the dribbles you did. Really pulled it together. Awesome as always. So inspiring. Thx🌷
With all your struggles on this cover it still turned out beautifully! Good job 👍 Perseverance DOES pay off 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🥰
Loving the second cover. Absolutely beautiful.
Turned out so beautiful!
I love this cover. Just gorgeous.
Both are gorgeous, but especially the blue one! TFS the inspiration, Barbara!
A buttonhole works work well! You could handsew around a hole or most sewing machines have a setting to make buttonholes. Or beg a sewing friend to help! 😉
Sorry. I didn't mean to repeat but I thought my first response didn't go through so tried again! 🤦 You do what you want. I will admire it all! 😍
I have a couple of the bear tins that I bought in the 1970's! Love the cover!
I really love your cover..blue is my colour.
The crop-a-dole big bite is what I use … perhaps that’s what she used! I love both of your covers! I also thought about using grommets , they are in so many sizes and a grommet tool is very inexpensive compared to the big bite. They are amazing tools to have! I love mine. 💖
Thanks, I will check those! ❤️
Love the grungy blue cover 🥰
With crop-a-dile big bite you can attach eyelets further. 😊 That is going to be lovely journal. Also it’s nice to play with colours you might not use regulary.
Love how you try new things and I love what you did with this it's darling. I love the color and I always learn so much from you. I can't wait for the next video I laughed when you said you sewed twice I'm new at sewing too lol but it looks great
That's why I bought the huge Crop-a-dile UR Memories... And found it second hand. So more useful. Thanks for the great tips 😉
First I want to say this is beautiful...then a tip for you. When you spread your glue, use an old credit card rather than your brush. It works faster and smooths easier than your brush. Love watching your videos, you have great ideas!
Thank you! I appreciate the tip as well! ❤️☺️
Barbara… I want to try this so badly because it’s so beautiful and I need a new journal! This is so inspiring. FYI you can avoid the eyelet issue you had with Fiskar Eyelet setting tools. I love them so much better than a crop-o- dile and they are relatively inexpensive. You can set an eyelet anywhere on a page and they cut through fabric, cardboard etc. Great Video!
Thanks Michelle! I will look into that, sounds good, thanks! ❤️
I love the artsy cover! Beautiful!
Both covers turned out beautiful - I really liked the blue splatters on the first one! TFS 💙
Beautiful cover!
Love the blue journal!
This cover came out wonderful. Love how you painted butterflies. They look so pretty. Thx for video.
Austin,TX USA
Barbara these covers are absolutely gorgeous!!!!! I love them both! 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Beautiful!
Barbara you are a marvel. I love both covers but the blue one is my fav. I’m sorry we aren’t going to see the final outcome. I know the lucky person receiving this journal will be thrilled.
I also love your processing videos because you show everything. I know I would have 100 more fails than you so it’s great to see someone as artistic and clever as you having fails too. 😻😻 But you always seem to fix the problems and they turn out just beautiful.
Thanks so much! I guess I just don’t give up until I like the outcome 😊
Love the colours and the butterflies are beautiful. Looking forward to seeing how the journal evolves. Xxxxxx
Barbara, glad everything worked out in the end, nice to show your struggles. I love the blue and the paint/ink splashes, looks arty. I have made my current journal using a large padded envelope covered in vintage looking patchwork fabric, wraparound also. I'm really happy with it. You've inspired me.
❤️❤️ both covers will be trying them on my next journal 😊🤗
I love the blue one especially I like butterflies and blue. It’s very beautiful and thanks for all the hints for making the closure so you had a struggle through that but we appreciate how you still made it through and made it beautiful!! ❤
