    The coverage of this tournament is just brilliant, it makes storylines and meaningfull characters of the players. It so much more colorful than what poker is now.

    Poker was so amazing to watch back then. I don't know what is so wrong about today's poker, but there's no desire to learn about these young kids. There were so many characters back then.

      Unfortunately people quickly realized that showing emotion of any kind during a poker tournament would be picked up and used against them, whether it’s tells or bluffs. This has led everyone to become robots.

    • @bolenation
      @bolenation 9 місяців тому

      He was not a nit, dude loved action.
      Both impressive folds.
      Twice in huge hands he chased heart flush draws. Both hands a nit would not play, or let alone call off his tournament life with one pull to bink the heart or gutter, like the hand against Harry.
      Imo his Omaha game is top notch, all that Omaha experience might have played a part in folding that king high flush on a paired board.

    1:36:29 Josh Arieh makes his flush on the river but it paired the board giving Murph Dog a Boat(Full House for you regular civilians). I remember seeing this on ESPN when it first came out and was like WOW what a fold by Arieh. Anybody else would have called immediately.

    • @bolenation
      @bolenation 9 місяців тому +1

      TBH I think all of Josh's success in Omaha resonated in his sub conscious.. A flush on a paird board in Omaha is almost worthless. Dude was a world class Omaha player. I personally think all the hands of Omaha he played in.. He had red flags going off with a paired board.

    Lol Arieh acting like all tough while making one terrible play after another. Overbets a board like that on the flop, to call off tournament life with a 10 high flush draw

    • @randylahey8207
      @randylahey8207 9 місяців тому

      Even against someone as aggressive as Arieh, that is not a great flop against an early position raise 3 handed with AJ when he bets large into 2 other people. You're crushed by Aces, kings, Queens, AK and AQ, J10 and losing to KQ. The only hands you're ahead of are Ax hearts and combo draws like he has, and you're nowhere near out of the woods at that point. That's what Josh makes that point. Do you think he's just bombing that board into two opponents with air? He's certainly cocky and makes some questionable plays. But I fully understand him in this scenario...
