Grab N Drive

The Grab N Drive is the latest concept in post driving. Designed by Exac-One and manufactured in the UK, this modular system allows an excavator operator to handle, place and drive posts without the assistance of a banksman. If required, the grab unit can be removed in minutes and a top-mounting bracket fitted to the breaker to enable its use in a traditional manner.
Optionally the unit can be supplied with a tilting device or a hydraulic diverter kit, which would enable the grab and hammer functions to be operated from one double acting circuit.

Would be nice if it was a little bit more realistic, those posts are going 12" in, max.
Would like to see an actual 4x4 getting driven 36" in.

I think a tray of some kind hanging from the blade would carry extra posts conveniently, and I would have the excavator 90 degrees from this position so I could sight down my previous posts to line them up.

ye I would say it needs a trailer or the post needs to be set out first on top of having to drop the rest of the load off before you get started it's only a few post at a time so you would have to refill if you could pull around trailer or something this would be ok

Can it be used on a telehandler or tractors
front end loader?

Great looking set up, but after watching this demo I can see so many ways to improve the process including a more skilled operator. Prime example of operator inexperience is working over the side of the undercarriage on a lift, machine airborne dancing around, hard on the machine as well as the operator. Lift with the blade to the front and lowered to take the load and crowd close to your lift. Nice set up though, much more improved over my gear.

Depends on the machine (and op) we've driven thousands of piles in with a similar hammer side carriage on a tb219 without any machine/carriage issues.

would be so much more efficient if the posts were dropped ahead of time adjacent to each hole.
Picking up the pile each cycle and then relocating them adds time.

yes and you would need to go out there any way to mark out the line of the fence and mark the spots for eacjh post

Why not use the chain as a plumb line to judge the straightness and also the depth gauge.

James Backhouse Not too bad actually, but if the ground is particularly bad then the rock spike can be used to drive a pilot hole for the post.
