Man oh man, Lalo Salamanca! One of the best villains I've seen in cinema and definitely the best part of Better Call Saul. Tony did an incredible job with acting and shaping the character. Lalo has no conflict in him and will do anything to achieve his goals, all while being super-charismatic, comedic and intelligent, which makes him absolutely terrifying. I was glued to the screen every time he had a scene. Couldn't hold back from making something about him, so here it is! Put my whole heart into it, hope it's good.
    Headphones are highly recommended!

That is why lalo laughed just before dying cause he knew gus could have never killed him of it wasn't for lalo's own cockyness. LALO KNEW GUS COULD'VE NEVER KILLED HIM IF IT WASN'T FOR HIS OWN MISTAKE.

That basically sums up the difference between Gus Fring and the Salamanca family. @@clarkjosephkent5047 He wasn't really careless in his plan. He actually outgambitted Gus and Mike perfectly, which is a hell of a thing to pull off. Keep in mind that SPEED is a powerful tactical advantage as well, part of the reason how Lalo ran circles around Gus and Mike is because of how quickly he moved/operated before they could get much information on his actions.
In the end, Lalo had Gus completely at his mercy, and the only reason Lalo lost was because Gus managed to blindly hit a vital spot in the dark with his last shot. (In contrast Lalo shot Gus twice under the same conditions and wasn't nearly as lucky). Mike even outright calls it luck later, even tho Lalo was too busy gloating to shoot Gus immediately after his rant, because ultimately Lalo is a far more skilled marksman.

in a universe jam packed with spectacular villain characters, Lalo really stands out despite not having much screen time in the grand scheme of things.
All the Salamancas are scary in their own way, But Lalo is something else. He's not just a psycho with a gun. He's a demon in human clothing.
I loved how he's presented in the show with an almost supernatural aura. He's so sneaky he can pop out of the roof. He's so durable he can jump onto a ditched car no problem. He's so cunning and ruthless he can single handedly take down a house full of trained assassins. He's so charming he can effortlessly seduce whoever he wants. When he enters the room, light literally waivers. Scariest of all, in Jimmy's eyes at least, he can come back from the dead.
It's no wonder Saul kept looking over his shoulder for him years after his death.

I especially love the music you chose; the cello sounded suspenseful and eerie from the very beginning, slowly building up until it bursts out into complete mayhem and violence! Perfectly encapsules Lalo's personality, always delivering a little uneasiness lying underneath, aswell as his role in the story as a whole. In my opinion, arguably the most terrifying villain on the small screen I most certainly have ever seen!

What a fantabulous edit! I have already watched it three times. Lalo is definitely my favorite aspect of "Better Call Saul". He has had the greatest impact in the Breaking Bad universe especially the way he influenced certain characters like Mike, Jimmy, and Gus. Even after his death, the way his name terrified Jimmy in Breaking Bad and after shows what a presence he was.
Tony Dalton really killed it with this role. I am now convinced that Lalo is the most dangerous of all the Salamancas due to the easy smile and charm he has which is a mask to his cunning and intellect. He was a great foil for Gus which was fascinating to experience.
In the end, luck was on Gus' side which I feel makes sense: there was no way Lalo could have known about the hidden gun.
    In summary, great video!

  • @FlamesOfTyphon

Lalo *should* have won. Lalo outplayed Gus and left him in a position where he couldn't use his greatest strength -- planning and strategy. He deprived his enemy of information after feigning his own death, waiting to strike Gus when he was utterly unprepared and powerless. His own intelligence and planning was underestimated, as he was willing to suffer the disgrace of his own family believing him dead to gain an advantage and secure a long term victory. Gus has never been shown to be so terrified and affected by someone since the death of Max. Lalo could have killed him at any moment, and caused likely permanent damage to Gus when he shot him in the chest. Although Gus killed him, he died laughing, because for the rest of his life Gus would be haunted by the ghost of Lalo. Deep down he knows he should have died that night. He won not through planning or strategy, but dumb luck. In another timeline Gus would flip the lights only to get a bullet through the head.
