Hi!! I have a question. At 10:51 you copied the second hill and pressed Cmd+F. That should result in the two elipses being next to each other in the layers pannel but in a split second there, the elements in the layer's pannel shift. The shapes are suddenly not right next to each other.. You can see what I mean in 10:55.. One of the elipses is the one highlighted (light gray) and the other is the one with the cyan square next to it.. On top of that, one of the elipses seems to be inside of a group or something like that now.. when did that happened?
Did you arranged them without saying anything to the camera? Did it happened on it's own because of something? This is confusing me a lot. Thanks!
You know I watch a lot of designers teach this grain effect all of them can't deliver the idea simple like you, Thanks a lot ❤❤✔✔
It's lovely to find an expert who is so considered in their instructions. Thanks ever so much.
I've watched 5 tutorials on how to do grain effects today and this is definitely the best one, using masks gives you so much flexibility. Thanks Martin!
Great tutorials. I've done this with stipple brushes nested inside my objects before, but this technique is quicker and neater. Thanks for sharing.
I was looking for this tutorial for a long time and now I have found it, thank you so much for your tutorial as it is making a big difference in my art and illustrative work. Thank you once again for your great contribution. Peter, Sikkim, India.

Appreciate that you were very concise with all your steps. Great tutorial. 👍
I bought your Adobe Illustrator course on Udemy and it was so amazing. I love how clearly and specifically you talk about any feature or option or tool. I am definitely purchasing the membership, probably some two months from now once I settle some stuff.

شكرا لك , لقد أحببت هذه الطريقة وشرحك لها قد كان سهل وواضح واظهرت عملي بشكل رائع !
So gentle, so systematic. If I had one tiny feedback - it would be a little emphasis on points that can not be missed, and why we must do it. Thanks so much!

In photoshop, paint the highlights our shadows and put in in the dissolve blend mode. Change the fill value for adjustments
Wow, awesome tutorial. Thanks a lot))
Toward the end, if you look at the little icon silhouette of the llama in the transparency window, it's instantly recognizable as a llama. Now that's some good design.
yay...been waiting for this

Best platform on Ai I have found so far.
Brilliant!

#masgraphicdesigner
awesome, always loved that grain effect
Great Tutorial! I always loved this effect but this technique definitely seems the most efficient. Especially since you can go back into the effect and change it as needed.
thank u
Very useful with great result, please make part 2.
It's coming next Monday 👍
Great !
Another fantastic tutorial, Martin! Thank you SO much! I really appreciate you stopping from time to time to point out & explain the notations in the layers panel as you work. I find that difficult to discern on my own. Yes, I'm sure there'd be a lot of interest in watching your complete iPad Pro process, as you describe as your "sketching phase", and how you transition into Illustrator & right up to the point where this video begins! Maybe another course, please?
Thanks Jeanne, it's good to know the right pronounciation 🙌 and I will make more videos showing the starting phase of illustrations.
@@YesImaDesigner Any way you say it sounds like music to my ears. My great-grandmother and grandmother came here from Hungary. Thank you for being so open to our "wish list"!
You are my teacher in udemy illustrator masterclass 😍 Good to see you here ( I was like wait a minute a know this voice ) 😂
Yes teach us about sketching
Thank you. I love this and I think you're a great instructor. However, unless I missed it, you didn't explain how to separate/get the newly created textured shading onto the shading layer you created at the outset. A simple drag and drop-of course-just places it above all the rest of the artwork. You showed us how you could turn on and off the shading, but it's not clear how to get it all onto a separate layer and still be masked to the right object parts. Thanks again.
great :)
This is my first video of yours I've watched and you are so great! Where is your accent from?
I love all your videos. It would be great if you share the templates of the drawing.
Nifty technique. Thank you very much for sharing, but just want to ask if you have any tips on controlling the size of these grains. The only factor I can find right now is to adjust the size of your canvas.
I would love to learn more about how you sketch, it's my weakest area.
yes i hope you teach us how to sketch
Yes I'd love to see tutorials on sketching! Also, a total basic thing I can't figure out...is there a way to draw more organic looking lines in AI, like when I wanna add little detail lines, I dont want my stroke to be just cut at the ends if you know what I mean? Hard to explain. Anyway, love your videos, looking forward to the next one! Thanks so much!
I would use custom brushes for more organic looking lines. Probably Art Brushes would work best. I just finished recording another 2-part tutorial on Illustrator brushes, which will come out in a couple of weeks. Stay tuned :)
That's awesome! Thank you so much! Can't wait to see those tutorials!
