Since this came out I went from barely being aware of Pete Holmes to watching all of Crashing, a slew of his stand up, becoming evangelical, but then distancing myself from its dogmatic aspects, and legally changing my name to Pete.

There is a distinct difference with this show and other comedy podcasts. Andrew and the guest, Pete in this case, constantly interrupt each other and go on dozens of tangents and it just works. For being a "hip hop head", Santino should realize that when the Beastie Boys came out with License to Ill, most hip hop was comedy. A lot of the songs were kinda funny stories. Dudes like Slick Rick and others just rhymed funny stories. Then hip hop changed in the late 80s and early 90s and turned serious and "gangster". But the Beastie Boys pretty much stayed the same and put out songs like Intergalactic that weren't supposed to be taken seriously. They were still just having fun.

God this was actually a spectacular podcast. 55:30 - sometimes I think Pete Holmes is Butters from South Park, but all grown up. The Bennigans thing really drove it home tho.

i was a hard drinker for many years and wanted to stop for a long time, i don't know how old you are but if you can't seem to kick it you may want to look into psilocybin treatment. There are studies from Johns Hopkins university on psilocybin and alcohol addiction with a high success rate for alcohol and tobacco addiction.

These guys have great chemistry. One of the best convos I've heard on WG, It took me awhile to warm to Pete Holmes and his Christian background but as good comedians do he draws from that and has developed a unique perspective and great jokes while being a genuinely good free thinking spirit. A great comedian and even better conversationalist.
