Since this came out I went from barely being aware of Pete Holmes to watching all of Crashing, a slew of his stand up, becoming evangelical, but then distancing myself from its dogmatic aspects, and legally changing my name to Pete.
I took a deep dive last year and have nearly finished the back catalogue of his podcast. He asks all of his guests what they’re take on the meaning of life is and it’s been a blessing. Thankful for both of ya! 👻
Why be so negative? I’d say there is no destruction without creation, same as there is no darkness, just the mere temporary absence of light. An actionable version of this is the quote “all it takes for evil to triumph is enough good people to do nothing”
There is a distinct difference with this show and other comedy podcasts. Andrew and the guest, Pete in this case, constantly interrupt each other and go on dozens of tangents and it just works. Im not sure how he facilitates it. Im leaning to its cause he's really just that funny and quick. What a wordsmith. Also I'm super high

That's why I love Pete, even though there's humor in it, he genuinely is interested. His humor is very underrated. I miss his show and all the remotes he did with people, Ronda Rousey one was hilarious.

I watch so many different "comedy" podcasts. Listen to Pete's and watch both of Andrew's and countless others...but this episode is my favorite thing I've ever seen/listen to. You 2 are GREAT together. Hilarious, chemistry, just PERFECT and truly interesting
Pete is SO fucking underrated. I mean, except for that time he had a TV show and an on-screen relationship with Conan. Still an underrated comedic talent though.
I think he just works a loooot behind the scenes and with/for other comedians as well as writing. If you do not actively seek him out I think because of his moderate personality without much swearing he does not polarise that much and hence he is not seen that much over platforms that work on polarising discourse.

Washed dishes cooked for the kids and wife while watching. I never learned so much and was so inspired by him lifting me up in life and what he said to his daughter to teach her really taught me .......thanks brothers so much for this episode. Vegas is watching 2021🤟
Getting back into listening to comedy podcasts lately. Pete Holmes was my introduction into comedy podcasts years ago. He is still the man! This was a treat.

For being a "hip hop head", Santino should realize that when the Beastie Boys came out with License to Ill, most hip hop was comedy. A lot of the songs were kinda funny stories. Dudes like Slick Rick and others just rhymed funny stories. Then hip hop changed in the late 80s and early 90s and turned serious and "gangster". But the Beastie Boys pretty much stayed the same and put out songs like Intergalactic that weren't supposed to be taken seriously. They were still just having fun.

I’m going to be honest and say I wasn’t familiar with Pete before this but I loved listening to him. Very enlightening, calming, and funny! This is one of the best whiskey ginger episodes.
I listened to this whilst thrift shopping yesterday and sounded like an absolute crazy person with how loud and how often I was laughing. It was so funny to me that I knew I needed to see all of Pete's faces and laughter, along with Andrew's. I just watched this and laughed even harder than yesterday. Thanks gents!!
It's probably because Santino is absolutely ELITE at improving and matching his guests energy on podcasts. Pete is great, but he has a very innocently, youthfully silly vibe and he loves improving, and many hosts struggle to match that.
I love how Pete spends all his time (involuntarily) holed up at home literally writing a thesis in philosophy! As a stay-home-dad, I can totally relate! 😄
God this was actually a spectacular podcast. 55:30 - sometimes I think Pete Holmes is Butters from South Park, but all grown up. The Bennigans thing really drove it home tho.
i was a hard drinker for many years and wanted to stop for a long time, i don't know how old you are but if you can't seem to kick it you may want to look into psilocybin treatment. There are studies from Johns Hopkins university on psilocybin and alcohol addiction with a high success rate for alcohol and tobacco addiction.
I've never commented before, but you and Pete hit it out of the park with this one. A perfect, three course meal of the comedy world, the spiritual world , and the real world. Great hosting !
These guys have great chemistry. One of the best convos I've heard on WG, It took me awhile to warm to Pete Holmes and his Christian background but as good comedians do he draws from that and has developed a unique perspective and great jokes while being a genuinely good free thinking spirit. A great comedian and even better conversationalist.
