Leave a comment and let me know what you think of the cargo space and of Sequoia. Thanks and enjoy your day! Jeff
Love the car but honestly the cargo space hump is a deal killer 😩
Yeah.
Man i saw a beautiful magnetic gray TRD. Off road but honestly they kills it by non flat storage, can’t remove 3rd seats, and no rolling window
Instant deal breakers for most especially the price tag
Appreciate the videos Jeff!
Oh trust me those seats are removable lol
It was beauty killed the Beast
I really love almost everything about the new Sequoia but man that huge hump in the third row is ridiculous. When you are trying to load a stroller or other large item and you can't just slide it back would be extremely frustrating to deal with on a daily basis.
I think I really watch your videos for the random insert of relevant song references. 🤣 So hilarious
Great video. 3rd row and cargo is so clunky and is by far the biggest con for this beautiful car. For the huge sacrifices made to make it a hybrid, the MPG still isn’t great. The spacing and layout of the cargo is worse than my ‘15 Explorer
People want to see a clean flat back not this bs they would have made the back flat
I have an LX570 and the amount of time I need a lot of space to store things in the back of my SUV is like once a year, so this Sequoia would work just fine for me.
Thanks for your time for doing and uploading this video. I always admire Sequoia while driving my 4runner because of that third row comfortness and humongous cargo space(120Cubic Feet I believe), and now it looks way better than before but those two things I admire have completely gone. Oh well, I can't afford either new or old models anyway, just some nonsenses.
New sequoia has less cargo room than 4Runner. 2 cubic feet less.
35 cubic feet less than 08-2022 sequoia
Jeff, I have 23 Sequoia TRD Pro and been in search of those cargo mats that protect the rear seat carpet and trunk. They look OEM, your description mention it but no link 🤷🏽♂️ help!
Jasper, any luck finding those all-weather cargo mats/liners for the trunk and 3rd row seat backs? I have a 23 Sequoia Platinum and have been trying to find them as well. My local dealer gave me the part number of the cargo mat itself (PT908-0C235-20), but they weren't able to find the seat back protectors. I agree with you - I'm confident they're OEM because Toyota has them in the background of the offical pictures for the 23 Sequoia cargo mat.
These same mats/liners were also in another 23 Sequoia video Jeff did (8 minute mark): ua-cam.com/video/H82bJT6I1D4/v-deo.html.
Please let me know if you find them.
Thanks for the detailed video Jeff. I have one on order for almost a year at this point. Just recently I finally got to test drive one. Loved the power, design and tech but hated, absolutely hated what Toyota has done with the 3rd row! Third row seating comfort is mediocre at best but he cargo situation is absolutely the worst in it's class. You can't fold the third row down and fit 6 large suitcases in any configuration - period!
Also, you can no longer haul larger items by folding 2nd and 3rd rows down. What was Toyota smoking?
Hey Jeff it would be helpful if you spend more time in the cargo area with the 3rd row folded down to see how much you can fit with the shelf system.
Jeff, nice review!
I love sequoias! you slayed
Hey Jeff, just do some measurements, OR have a last gen and this gen Sequoias right next to each other so we who have a last gen can compare! Thanks
As your experience which one is best 22 4runner limited or 23 sequoia limited.
Thanks
Jeff, are you a dealer? I’m also in Raleigh and this is the exact build I’m looking for.
The GM twins have nothing to worry about I see.
Correct. Sadly.
This is not even remotely close to being worth 70k dollars. The Sequoia lost its roll-down back window, an iconic piece to the model. The variable storage is a gimmick at best and would have suited better to have a traditional flat floor. It doesn't even lead the large SUV market for towing capacity. It looks good on the outside, but the new generation feels disappointing. Granted my opinion barely matters, and Jeff I do enjoy your videos.
I had the prior Gen with flat floors and roll down rear window. Loved it except for fuel mileage which was pitiful.
The new one is 35 cubic feet smaller than the second gen.
It’s also 2 cubic feet smaller than a 4Runner behind the first row…..
Compare this to a Tahoe and it’s a steal. U can’t beat the reliability and resale value
@joe mama I’m not sure we can count on the reliability just yet for this new gen. Granted I’m sure it’s had more development and testing put into it than the last 20years of GM’s and Fords, but at this price point it’s not a steal. You’ll make storage capacity concessions on this over a Tahoe or Yukon and in this market for family haulers Toyota has come short. I wish the floor had been flat even if they raised it a little. The tray is not going to last long term use. Plus I just realized I bet they charge for remote starter service on this as they have been doing on the Tundras. I may change my mind completely after I see one in person and drive it, but I’m leaning away from this model at this point. I’m currently a 2Nd gen owner and have owned one 4-runner, 3 Sequoias and a Tundra.
@@joemama8379 Tahoe is trash. So many issues with that vehicle. Compare to a Tahoe this car is gold. But… this ain’t worth 70k.
More capacity in the Passport and Pilot. Apples and oranges I know.
I hope they make a Grand Sequoia. That be the version I would buy.
With that kind of cargo space I'll bet that car can really go
I was really looking forward to the Sequoia, but Toyota lost my business with this design. Just got a CX-9. Have to wait for the next remodel!
Agree with group and hope Toyota responds. Lose the third row give me my rolling window
I love the look of this so much but the lack of leg room and cargo space in the second and third rows pushes me towards getting a second gen.
Good video showing what a mess Toyota has made of this one
Hey now! I am in Wilmington NC. Are these in stock?
Hey Now! They have to be pre-ordered on a wait list in most cases but yes they are reaching dealers all over slowly now
Don’t go to Fred Anderson unless you want a mark up.
Leith is good.
Or deal directly with James moody the general manager at classic Toyota of Henderson.
The dad jokes are killing me lol
This would be infinitely better if they offered it with the old v8 over the hybrid powertrain. Flat floor, better third row headroom, more functionality of the cargo area, not to mention likely more reliable.
I just bought an upgraded SR5. The cargo space configs s*ck 🤬. I got it for the towing capacity in an SUV so we can pull our first trailer! Don't want a truck so we settled on this. Haven't had it for a week, but like the ride. Apple Car play let's me use iPhone and Google maps 😀 rather than new subscription-based Toyota Navigation If we need to use more cargo space, we'll take our old Highlanders!
Can you take the third row seats completely out?
No. They protect the battery underneath
That cargo area is jacked up. Deal breaker for me.
Venza 2023?
I was in the market for a sequoia until I saw the cargo space and went for an used 2022 model.
This is me right now. Will make a purchase in the next week or two.
Toyota did a big mistake with sequoia making it smaller. I like a lot kia telluride and Hyundai palisade but i need bigger trunk so big NO to sequoia being small and expensive.
Can the market get something smaller and less expensive; but has the ability to tow 9000+ lbs?
Durango R/T with tow&go package will be your only option.
The only way I would buy a Sequoia is without the third row. Great SUV though.
I had a prior Gen Sequoia and it was a great vehicle but a farking gas hog. I mean 10-12 city and 15 highway. Even feathering the throttle, I’d get no better than15 mpg. It had great room, but was a gas pig.
We waited years for this truck to replace our current Sequoia, getting on the dealer's waitlist in January 2022. A TRD Pro finally showed up in December and when we saw the third row and rear cargo area firsthand, we walked away. The truck is gorgeous, but we're buying a full-size SUV for max space, period. Disappointing.
im suprised toyota didnt let the back seats lay flat with the trunk. It makes it difficult for pets to fit
Can't sleep in it with that third row hump - that sucks.
They really killed the interior on this car. No roll down window that third row sets you back on being able to stow cargo properly or if you wanna tail gate its hella awkward and also nobody wanted to be a hybrid and not a shocker that the third row is tight. Id rather get the Tahoe or the Armada
They fcked up storage first thing I am doing is loosing that 3rd row
No, cargo space is not good in the 2023 Sequoia. The vehicle is in desperate need of a 3rd row delete option and flat cargo space with the 3rd row deleted.
Being smaller than a 4Runner behind the 1st row is a gigantic fail.
Definitely not dog owner friendly. Tell me again what SUV stands for?
You need to show luggage space instead of talking about these cubic spaces. Show visuals
Can't fold flat? That stinks.
Too much dealer markup
I don't find a reason not to make the second row sliding, and looks like doesn't fold flat neither, what a dropped toyota
Destroyed the sequoia, uncomfortable cargo area, and the back window won’t go down
Terrible cargo space. That 3rd row needs to go.
Terrible 3er Row Seating design omg deal killer
We better agree with
naveen the machine on this Sequoia in terms of cargo space !!
This thing sucks !!!
Cramped AF !!! 😑😐🙂🙂🙂
How not to design a SUV... Total flop. Dont even try to buy this one unless you live on a planet with 100% concrete. And no rain and no snow... No AWD.. Who does that
Do a side by side review against the second gen. 😂🤣😂🤣
35 cubic feet smaller than the second gen.
2 cubic feet smaller than a 4Runner.
Yes. Smaller than a 4Runner.
What a flop on the engineer Mike Sweers.
Yikes. That’s horrible.
F failure
Nope. Not going to work. I don’t want to spend time trying to configure this vehicle to haul my cargo.
When you kick it didn’t work 😂 everything cheap with toyota 😂
But lasts so couldn’t be too cheap!
Horrible
