2002 Suzuki Marauder (not 2012...oops)
Took my wife's 2002 Suzuki Marauder GZ250 to see what the Top Speed was. Needed to know if it would be too small for the highway....... It is.
With a top speed of 120km/hr on a straight away. Most highways are 110km/hr. Would have difficulty on hills and the engine is screaming at that speed.

I cleaned my dad's old gz250 and sold it to my riding buddy to be his son's first bike. That kid lives that bike and rides it everywhere! It's awesome to see his enthusiasm! They may be small, but they are still fun to ride!
Great road for a speed run that ! Weather looks stunning
They are great little bikes Mate
Very nice 👍🏼 you got long straight road cool
Tengo una ....es lo mejor del 2000!
Nice looking bike
Was this the real speed or does the odometer overestimate the readings?
Not too bad 👍
The one down vote is from a Vespa that almost kept up with you.
My 1986 Honda Rebel 250 would only do 72 MPH. But I got 70 MPG. My Honda Shadow 650 got 35 mph but I wouldn't try to go more than 120 mph. I keep my testerone in check. Being able to cruise at 80 or 85 mph is nice
Shadow 600
650?
@ICE a shadow 650 doesn't even exist. A shadow 600 us a 4 speed bike and isn't getting over a 100 mph but actually the 1980s Honda Shadow 700 and 750s would do 120 mph. In fact they are the quickest shadows to exist yes even faster than the old shadow 1100s and the new shadow 750s. They were high revving 6 speed liquid cooled biked in the 80s. The 700 and 750s are rated in the mid 60s for horsepower and the redline is about 8k. They will run mid to high 12s in the quarter
Not bad 👍🏻
looked like a good day for a top speed run in northern mexico!
Luckily this bike is so slow it’s top speed is still right around the speed limit though! 😂
120kph=74.56mph in American
Damnit I thought I was first .. though that bike would be a little faster than that but still good for the woman to ride
My Buell used to get to 96ish I think..
74.5 miles per hour. What year is that bike?
O boy mph, hate to hear that... kmh pls
@@milancakic232 can't convert it ?
the gz doesn't look like a 250 until you ride one, the problem with that starter bike is you grow out of it the second time you ride it, that's what happened to me, had to get a bigger bike
Lol, i felt i outgrew it halfway thru the msf 😂
I disagree. I have had mine for 5 years. Use it to run back and forth to work all week long. Granted I have a big v-twin for weekend fun. But I still love my 250. It will do anything you ask it to... except go fast 😏. Plus 95mpg is hard to beat.
@@realamerican8079 I agree 100% with that statement, but for me, I grew out of it in a hurry, it would be nice to have one to commute to work but I can only have one bike and I love my 1584cc Harley Street Bob
@@Tonympiotrowski haha....I THOUGHT i would enjoy riding a TW 200.....but I got tired of going through all 5 gears just to clear an intersection. It was cute.....I wish the sold the exact same bike as a 400 though.
@@skidfrog I started with the gz250 and then bought a 800cc Suzuki Intruder, my buddy told me to get a bigger bike, he said you're gonna wish you went bigger than the 800cc, at first it was great, but I grew out of it fairly quick also, he was right, I felt like it should have another gear after 5th gear, now with the big bike, I have 6 gears but I rarely ever get it up to 6th gear unless I'm on the interstate but it's nice to know it's there if you need it.
The suzuki 250 sounds the least stressed out on the highway. Which is funny with it being a single cylinder.
I never rode another 250 so can’t say for sure. But there is a bit of wind noise to cover up the sound.
0 to 60 in?
Sir D about 10 seconds
@@LeakysBikeIt that's poggers
I have supered 130 km/h but the wind cause instability
I did 140 on mine. Behind a car, no wind...
Sometimes dowhill i made it too 👍
Drive it like you stole it !
That’s not that bad! Depends on certain -ahem- rider .. characteristics too! 😏
Weight 😅
That's only because you were not lying down on the tank!
That's at least 10-15kms more! 😂😂😂😂
@@LeakysBikeIt Time for that re-run on the same road! 😂😂
🤣I tried that and YEAH! It gave me more 10 km/h!
with my GZ250
With a pod filter, new carb and straight pipes mines only a smidge faster
120K is fast enough for anyone. My guess is that it would damage the engine if one drove it at top speed for say an hour non stop
Do not do it, do not speed so much, we don't need more accidents.
120km/h is a good speed and LEGAL speed
What?
running from #YESDEAR I see hahahahahahaha
65 max and thats going downhill
I had a Yammy 400 heritage....only did 110 k.....always looking for another gear...lol . My top speed now is 65 k...hahahahaha
I did the motorcycle thing for 3 summers in New York. To many idiots out there. I can say I never fell or got hit , thank GOD..!!! Bikes are fun but in NYC it's was to risky to ride and have kids.
Honda PSX scooter 👀 to try....
Honda PSX scooter 👀 to try....
Faster than A Ford lol
I’d hate to see it what it’d do to a chevrogay 😂
