    I feel like the Philips RacingVision GT200 +200% have a more well distributed light.
    The Philips RacingVision +150% have too much bright light in the front of the car, and less in the front. In this case, less does not mean insufficient, just less than in front of the car.
    I also fell this in the Philips RacingVision +150% I have installed on my car.
    This, can be tiring on the eyes, sometimes. Especially on those long days of driving.
    Thus, I feel I will try out the Philips RacingVision GT200 +200% really soon.

    Keep them up, and we will continue coming back 😁

      Thank you for the detailed feedback. Still trust me I think both RV halogens are exactly the same thing in a different package. The camera recorded differently because the road where I do my tests has been changed. They pored new and darker asphalt and that's why it's different with the same camera settings. But all what matters is for you to be pleased with what you got. All the best from Romania!

    I used the Osram Rallye Hypers 64205 H4 which are about 70 watts @12 volts
    and 65 watts on low beams .
    They were a plus 50 bulb which produced about 2200 lumens on high@13.1 or so alternator voltage and about 1400 on low beams ...a little yellow for your taste but huge wide long light field on the road , not much more heat than a regular H4 ,
    the extra wattage is a big difference .

    • @m3rovingian
      @m3rovingian  2 роки тому +1

      As I said, any increase in volage/wattage is dangerous for the normal cars, even with a proper electric wiring they produce a lot more heat and you are at risk of melting you headlamp. The halogens are extremally hot.

    The discontinued Osram Rallye 64205 H4 70/65 only draws about 5.1 to 5.3 amps at alternator voltage .
    Very similar to Phillips Racing Vision plus 150 .
    However the Lumens is generally higher and the filaments are thicker .
    Lumens are higher on 64205 but color temperature lower .
    Engineers could do much more with a slightly higher wattage regulation .
    Remember -I am talking about a small increase .

    • @m3rovingian
      @m3rovingian  2 роки тому

      I understand, but trust me on the temperature side. The increase is a lot higher there and it can damage your car.

    Thanks for details on the Racing Visions - they also have G force vibration resistant .lol
    But this looks like RV have long life for such a hi performance bulb - there is a huge chart on a forum where a design engineer took a LOT of bulbs and the RV +150s were very high in lux and current draw over 5 amps ! at I think 13.6 volts = alternator voltage . But most of the hi performance are rated 250 hours so Racing Visions must be more vibration resistant - very good if true !

    • @m3rovingian
      @m3rovingian  2 роки тому

      I had a pair of first gen RacingVision that burned out after 6 months. A very dear friend of mine from UA-cam has used them more than 1 year. It really depends. I come with my experience so far. But usually the maximum performance halogens have a shorter lifespan because in order to be that bright they burn at a higher temp and burn out faster than the others. But i still recommend RV GT200 over Osram NB 200 for the lower price and better build quality. At this moment RacingVision GT 200 would be the only bulb worth buying from Philips.

    Hi, why philips on the specs sheet declare 1500 lumens for h7 Racing vision gt, 1500 for the ,Racing vision, and for the ecovision long life ? Is the same brightness or not?

    • @m3rovingian
      @m3rovingian  3 роки тому

      It's the street legal amount of lumen of a halogen. But you can see all have the margin of error of +/- 10-15% So one can have 1350 lumen and another 1650 lumen. And from there the differences in brightness and lifespan.

    • @zacmich6472
      @zacmich6472 2 роки тому

      The lumens are brightness in all directions, as if the bulb wasn't in a headlight. And the difference between bulbs is how much of that light is FOCUSED on the road. Smaller filament = more focus.

  • @robertfinishes
    @robertfinishes 2 роки тому

    They spec the GT 200's as 400 hour ..there is a tiny compromise in luminous flux of only a few percent compared to Racing 150 .
    My dream is for Governments allowing additional 10 watts of power to compete more with LEDs .
    THEN they could easily get 2200 lumens and throw away a little with blue color to raise the Kelvin.
    I also wonder if a tiny bit of Molybdenum or Titanium might raise the temperature and the color organically ?
    Probably to late for better alloys but an additional 10 watts is safe for wiring and they could make amazing bulbs ...

    • @m3rovingian
      @m3rovingian  2 роки тому

      The problem with increasing the wattage on halogens is they will increase the heat generated also and that is unsafe for the headlamp. It can melt over time. As I see it right now the trend is to cross over to LEDs. They are a lot more efficient and if they have a good quality the light will be unmatched by any halogen no matter the road conditions. In my country the Philips RacingVision GT200 is the best halogen choice considering the price/performance over OSRAM Night Breaker 200. Also I don't think there are any differences between the RV 150 and RV GT200, aside from the package :)

      They will be very good, but the light will be warmer than WhiteVision. If that is no problem then you'll like them. Still expect at least 1 to burn after 6 months. RV has low lifespan.

    The Pro+150 H4 has a Philips estimated lifetime of 450 hours .
    Is the beam performance on high and low close to the Racing Vision +150s ?
    From your comments - Pro +150 is kind of like an Xtreme +130 on the low beam and
    the Racing +150 on high .
    These +150s are the real deal - they actually draw 5 amps in actual use on most cars at alternator 13.1 to 13.5 volts .
    I read some tests ( not by Philips ) .

    • @m3rovingian
      @m3rovingian  2 роки тому

      Now that I look at the specs on the Philips website they say 450 hours for H7 and 540 hours for H4. But it depends on what roads you drive on. Usually the H4 lasts more than H7.
      RacingVision, no matter what gen, is better than X-tremeVision Pro150, trust me.
      Yes, from my Point of view Philips rebranded the X-tremeVision +130% to Pro150% and the first RacingVision +150% to RV GT200% and they changed the packages :)
      From my measurements the RacingVision GT200 are clearly better than X-tremeVision Pro150 and at this point I would not buy the older generations of XV+130% or RV+150%.

I noticed on the Osram Rallye 70 /65 watt I am looking to replace now there is a large filament on the high beam- thicker but there is a LOT of light . They last a long time . Some have tested the 70 watt Osram [ no longer made as higher lumens than the 80 watt Osram Rallye [ because the 70 was engineered differently - over 2100 to 2400 lumens on high beam and a lot of throw ] .These are safe for wiring and sockets not hotter than a 60 watt bulb . The racing visions burning hot with small filaments are subject to vibration death also. With all the LEDS with 3000 to 5000 lumens per bulb the old laws in USA and Europe with Halogen restrictions are obsolete . We should have legal 2000 plus lumens
