Taking this song up an octive on first trumpet is wildly insane but I absolutely love doing it. It's in the way upper register when you bring it up but it sounds so good. I suggest to any bands who have a screamer and are playing this song to take it up, it totally brings the whole song together!!
Damn our band isnt that good but our director gave it out to the better players, I play trombone and ive been paracticing it at home and its sooooo fun i wish we could play it
We are playing this peice qnd we just got it Monday and when I say there are so many falls in this song it is crazy and don't get me started the first thing I play are triplets that are 8th note triplets or maybe quarter not do not remeber because we have looked at the beginning yet because we are sight reading small chunks at a time and since I am a freshman we all get 3rd clarinet and I played 1st clarinet during LGPE (Large Group Performance Evaluation) but atleast on this other peice we are doing which is swahili folk hymn and I do have first part because it was a peice we were, well thought we were going to just sight read (and me and this other girl always played first part when we did sight reading and we do it a lot) but we didn't so I got the first clarinet part for it and so did the other girl
My section (clarinet) got best section out of the marching band and I am so happy about it because we had the most spirit and that is even what our BD said and we were so happy and it just felt amazing. Which most of us knew we most likely get it because we are the section that hypes up the band before a football game cause when the drum line started doing cadences we would dance to it and we were the loudest in the stands and other sections even said we deserved it
Its a classic fall in music, its meant to be like that. Giving the effect of something triumphant and powerful being stopped by some sort of force, or just ending suddenly

Interesting, I’m playing first trumpet on this as a HS freshman, I could definitely take some stuff up an octave…if my band director lets me.
i just got permission from my band director to take parts an octave up, and it feels great!
as much as I dislike playing the 5/4 part in this piece i love how it sounds
1:58 I don’t know why that trombone part is always wild to me, I love it so much.
A unique and wonderful fusion of styles.
