The intro with the organ, the in-game countdown before the game starting, my teammates talking about whatever, and for some reason I felt scared. Filled with dread like something bad was gonna happen. The beat drops as the game starts and I wrecked that entire game. Great song would have pre-game panic attack again
now knowing that the word "shock" exists after the "that's electric" bit i really think that the rhinestone eyes bit should have gone "that's electric tric tric tric shock"
I remember the day this was dropped on Gorillaz Unofficial and my 13 year old brain nearly imploded….I was ready for this song and I was so disappointed that it wasn’t fully realized but still happy that Rhinestone Eyes does feature some samples. Now, when I listen to this song I get a huge wave of nostalgia…Before Gorillaz released PB they were sort of in a slump and then they released that album and went mainstream again. So this was really a gem that was quickly swept under the rug due to the popularity of Plastic Beach overall. Honestly the more the album ages the more it fascinates me
that electric organ section at the beggining of the song justs reminds me some kind of circus or carnival, maybe this was supposed to be a track for their Carrousel project ?
This would’ve appeared on 2011s “sea-sides” however the album was cancelled due to rising tensions between Damon and Jamie. They still needed to fill contractual obligations and release an album so they released the physical version of the Fall which had been released as a free download the previous Christmas to members of a Gorillaz fan club.
