He has such a unique way with language, and the way he expresses himself. What an interesting character. I could listen to him “ramble on” for hours......
Since every word has increased meanings from 2 to at least 4 or 5, Bobby does not use words using the 'appropriate' definition in relation to the other words in his responses, yes and no, and is a mix.
@@rosekittygraykittyjackkitt9676 Why are people calling him Bobby? I'm not sure if he'd like that.
@@heliotropezzz333 - He doesn’t Helen. She always insists on calling him that.. on every interview with him.. 🌸
@@jayannakelley9051 I know. I've seen her comments all over the place. It's annoying but she doesn't listen so it's not worth me commenting more on it.
@@heliotropezzz333 - Oh my Helen.. later on last night I remembered we had discussed that & I meant to go back & edit my comment. I dozed off & forgot to do that! You are so right when I see her comments I keep scrolling!
Wishing you a Happy Holiday season 🌟
He's so fluent in his thoughts and speech! So much more than a pretty face!
Agree! Very cerebral, bands of that era were.
fluent and fluid as you float in and around his visions to dream about for awile...
@@alone15151 The Stones especially. And Fog Hat.
Не зря он учился в школе одаренных детей!!!!
Always interesting listening to Robert.
He's so smooth, he's been around long enough to know how to not answer a question he doesn't want to and just divert away from it. He didn't say what his favorite Zeppelin song was and that was probably deliberate and the interviewer just let it slide or never noticed.
He often changes his mind about which is his favourite.
@Coogan He has said in more recent times that it's 'Kashmir' and there's plenty of interview evidence on youtube.
I love that he mentioned Grand Funk Railroad. They were a band who was also out there making fantastic music and I love them almost as much as Led Zeppelin. I got my shorts signed by all the members of GFR back in the 90s in St. Louis MO. It was a free concert at Union Station and they were pure perfection on stage! I know Mel's brother in-law and managed to get my CD signed later. I got the shorts signed all by myself though! Haha! One of my prized possesions! Robert Plant and Led Zeppelin have a special place in my heart and soul that can never be replaced. I love that Robert and Jimmy and Jonesy have all gone on to do more and each on their own paths. I really love that Mark Zep is putting all of this out here for us. It means a lot to me!
''Just look after every body....that will do''
When asked how does he want to be remembered
Pretty deep really, very charitable and loving
I understood about 6% of his answers.
Always a pleasure to listen to Robert speak. I live in Kidderminster not far from him. Such a lovely approachable chap
Have you seen the youtube video of him singing for charity in Kidderminster shopping centre backed by a police band?
Helen Trope hi Helen, yes I have seen it. I missed it I was furious. I was in Coventry street . About 300 yards away working as an assistant manager at the old McDonald’s. Somebody came in talking about it. I ran out , got there in minutes to find out they had left. Nice to see it on here. I saw him in 1982 at a small gig in stourport on Severn at the civic hall as a tribute to his band of joy mate Johnny Pasternak who died. I took photos, and never seen any in books or internet. Legend absolute legend of a man
@@markh1085 How frustrating to have been so close and to have missed it. At least someone captured it on video, thank goodness. I like the way he's stayed close to his roots after travelling around and really seems to love the area.
Helen Trope yes, ha very frustrating. He is regularly seen driving around, in Sainsbury supermarket and shows up at village fairs and local college. A very nice grounded man. He goes to football matches and plays tennis at a local sports centre, he says hi and before the virus shakes hands and selfies. People are used to him and give him his space and privacy. Where are you from? I hope you get to meet him one day
@@markh1085 I am originally from Birmingham, so not far away from Kidderminster, but I left there a long time ago and I live in London now. I remember seeing Jethro Tull and Free in Birmingham Town Hall but I've never seen Led Zeppelin live.
I love hearing Robert take the piss out of himself.
I enjoy looking and listening to Robert. He has things to say. Love a man whom talks and expresses. Great interview.
❤❤❤Robert Plant❤❤❤
Robert is so knowledgeable about music and musicians. I can listen to him talk about music for hours. I love his voice, either talking or singing!!! My forever fantasy!!!♥️♥️♥️♥️🌹🌹🌹🌹
The man no woman can tame.
I'd like to try haha
I'm a woman and I wouldn't want to tame him...I would love one night of getting BUCK wild with him!!!💋👅🔥😋
I do so love a dare ...
My gorgeous Rock God introduced me to an old friend several years after we met, and the guys first comment was, “Oh, so you’re the woman who managed to tame John?!” Given my talent at taming “wild men of rock,” I would love to have a go at taming Robert!!!! 😂🤣😂🤣
@Coogan eh? Ease off the sauce, pet.
I think he's more relaxed about interviews and enjoys them more now than he did at this time. He was worried about finding his way, post Zeppelin, at this time I suppose. That little jab at 'Heart' at 11:44 is ironic given that when Led Zep was being honoured later on, Heart played 'Stairway to Heaven' to them and they were quite moved by it including Robert Plant.
It wasn't a little jab he was just speaking the truth
He is so funny. The greatest.
He's too funny !!! What a voice
Just a regular guy that thinks all the fuss about Zep is comical. Really is Spinal Tap.. I love all of his esoteric responses.. lol
Da dreamboat behind those foster grants! Lol jeez hes just so pretty and tall and cool. I reserve the Right to Cuteness.
I think he’s pretty funny, very intelligent 🤓
Wow hearing him talk about getting back into that “baby baby push push”. ..wow....❤️🎼
Damn He really knows his “marbles and finger nails”. Seriously love him! ❤️😎
🙏
He looked so good here.. Brilliant man! Love Zeppelin ♥️
I like your personal out look on life . down to earth kinda guy ! 😌
The way his jacket crinkles, oh boy this is so 80's
i don't know if he intentionally speaks in song lyrics but I'm pretty sure you can write songs off the shit his saying
Great interview.
epic interview
The tall cool one
Thanks...
Robert Plant Looks Badass Here 😎
Interviewer did a great job here.
He sends up his decadence with great humour. Wonder if he could do that today
Please can you elaborate it?
Just great :-)
I love how he got a Whites naked zinger in there. And a dbs plug!
cool ....💕
A covinha no queixo dele...e aquele sorriso...e a voz dele...isso tudo faz-me sonhar❤...
So disgusting the negative comments, as if people really know him, figures.
Cuando dijo baby baby push push ...ya esta este hombre es para mi... tvb
He is too intelligent for a music star. Where were you, Robert, when I was a teenager? I could use some of that advice.
ROBERT ANTHONY PLANT
20 DE AGOSTO DE 19(4)8
75 AÑOS. (76)
SINGER OF LED ZEPPELIN.
A bit harsh on himself ‘the principal of moments’ is an unreal album amongst others 💪🏻
💯💋🎵💖💘🎶🤗
Funny how he takes a few subtle jabs at Whitesnake, but I love Whitesnake! They were a great band with some great songs!
I think he was a bit bemused that Coverdale had basically aped Zeppelin with still of night. The violins bows on the guitars, Coverdale dying his hair blonde. Robert wasnt impressed with David because he was from the same era (the late 60s) and still, to an extent, copying Plant.
Now it's all about the coca cola sponsorship and marketing of conglomerations like Disney and Viacom. Everything else is in exile on UA-cam.
I'm Linda Winters!
I think the right woman can click with Robert..just being herself, hes around enough fake people..Robert doesnt need to be tamed just treated like a wonderful person that he is...
"Two bands are always playing Kashmir fast or slow". Presumably one of them he is referring to is Whitesnake, due to his insecurities over David Coverdale. Who do you think the other one is?
Kingdom Come
wtf???
@@bhiggins66 If anything, that reinforces my suspicion rather than disproving it. I do prefer Plant's music (certainly the Led Zeppelin days anyway) but I have always found it odd that he criticises others for allegedly copying him in some way when Led Zeppelin blatantly used other artists' material, even if their image was different.
@@lynfauser5107it's true
Anyone else getting some ASMR on the squeaky jacket?? No..just me mmmk😂😳😚👃👂👀
I think a bit crazy he was in 88 but
Hes the inventor
Light City to me is City of Lights. I wonder why blue changes to brown.
WFMU!
Just think of all the care patties intention to Santa hat do you have everything you want and didn’t know what I mean the lights in the sky is lead to something of kings and beyond
Linda Winters. 🤣
Sounds like he's dressed in a Baloon!
Good interview but one major point of contention is that Physical Graffiti was his last great album prior to Now and Zen. Beg to differ
You dont see Bobby wearing sun glasses all that much, especially inside. I wonder if this was done on a Sunday. Thats the only thing that makes sense to me.
Bobby puts me in mind of Charlie Milles and the way he answers Tom FF Snyder's questions. BRILLIANTLY!
I don't think anyone calls him Bobby. I'm not sure if he'd like that.
Helen Trope - She calls him that on everything to do with Zep.. very irritating 🙄🙄
@@jayannakelley9051 I've started to notice that. Yes very irritating.
Helen Trope - You May come across some of her long-winded comments as I have & wow! A lot I’ve tried to ignore as she is way ‘out there’!! Yikes! 🤦♀️
@@jayannakelley9051 Ignoring is probably the best response but it's hard when the comments are 'out there' as you say. She speaks as if she has some inside knowledge, when she's just making things up.
Not sure I sing better than him though ...
He has a habit of occasionally sucking in air. I'm not sure if that's because he forgets to breathe enough while talking, or if it's a smoker's habit or just a meaningless habit. I hope it doesn't indicate shortness of breath due to lung damage.
😂 this interview was 35 yrs ago and he's still singing beautifully and touring at 74, so I think his lungs were fine that day.
Is he wearing sunglasses?
AccurateCrabLegs no, contacts.
New rage in '88.....large contacts
Shawn Crowe
WWI or WWII...gas mask?
I know...Desert Storm🌴
Whitesnake…🤭
He’s high as fuck! 😂😂
As I have said before, Bobby is not really from England, as he clearly states here, He is all American from Md. NJ, and parts of Pa. That goes double for Jimmy.
thank you for the giggles pass the crumpets please!
Rubbish
What's going on with Bob's nose ? ??Honestly it's appears to have been broken.
looks like.. !
It appears that way
He's not Bob. He's Robert. It could just be the way the light and shadow is playing on his face.
Drops a lot of words but doesn’t say much. Wtf is a post Paris texas movie?
Latterly he passes himself off as a working class kid from the Black Country that could only escape his predicament by turning to either football or RocknRoll . This is bullshit . He was a middle class scholarship boy that went to the prestigious Edward VII Grammar school and left with an avalanche of high grade ‘ O ‘ levels bound for an apprenticeship as an Accountant. His clarity of thought and speech are not an affectation; it’s the result of a half baked , unfinished education that may have led to Oxbridge or beyond. Today , however , he’s perfected the working class hero Schtik in an age of idiocracy few people know. He sounds like a condemned soul listening to recordings of his own thoughts in a previous life .
lol good lord!!!
Wow mate, you care a lot about some real trivial shit. He loved music and went for it. His condition was based on doing what you want or doing what's required of you. Robert busted his ass laying tarmac and playing clubs in his early days. It was a breath of fresh air being picked up by Jimmy Page at the behest of Terry Reid. The fuck is wrong with you.
You sound a little bit jealous.
To me, there is no reason for any musical tracks, just 4 basic instruments, including the voice. The only reason for any of those tracks is money and division, music as a business, instead of an art.
experimentation and continuing the journey.
no, essentially development of an art-field.
Such a middle class ponce!
Horrible sunglasses
Who broke and bent Percys schnozzer?? 😂 Jealous husband???
Zzzzzzzzzz…
