It’s something I would of never thought of though about the leather. Very clever lol

Probably the best negotiator in this whole series. Basically told Rick 5k is the lowest ill go take it or leave it (Rick was like you dare use my own spells against me potter) lol.
Probably cut out the part where the seller tells Rick he knows Craig lowballs everytime.
@rgtrooper13 yeah lol
@@themonkeyhand maybe, but I still think that he got the best price from the pawn shop. Pawn shop businesses are built on low-balling people

This man is an absolute champ for not getting upset, respecting the expert's opinion and walking away cash in hand, even beating Rick into paying more than he wanted to. Well done.
It makes me happy when the seller is willing to cooperate with the expert like this. Nothing irks me more than when a seller goes on the defense about the expert's opinion and gets salty about it.
sometimes i understand the seller questioning the expert but yeah you're right
But I read stuff on the internet for half an hour. What do you know doing it for 20 years
I want 15,000 for it. Expert: It's worth about 6 Grand. * customer Smiles * Happy music plays
He probably paid 2000 for this.
Yep, but the only one who can pronounce three french words correctly ;)
@Jasper Percabeth True, but I'm sure the family paid much less for it in 1961!
@@zjz19900621 no way, $2,000 in 1961 is like $100,000 today
@@cero2277 lmao no, no it is not.
I have learned more from Pawn Stars than school
*than*
@@theswapmeetflea than it that case
what did you learn. Buy low, sell high?
I agree
That’s sad, the only thing I learned is how to spot a lowball offer from Rick
I think the blinking hypnotised Rick and got him the deal he wanted
This was an insult to the eye blinking community
more like..to the pe..pe...Le petit de Chivalroux community HA, THOUGHT i was going to say PEZ COMMUNITY GOT DARN IT!!!
@@davisperkons8058 are you okay?
Ethan Klein
He blinks ''buy it, Rick'' in morse code.
Hassan A he's just an active person wdym
The breastplates weren't only for show, they were put into action at a time where roughly a third of the losses were inflicted by bayonets. For shock cavalry focused on melee combat, it was a real advantage to have your chest basically impervious to bayonet and saber cuts, which would be the main threat you'd face in your intended role.
The whimsical score 4:52, and the conversation totally make it seem like an intentional wink.
I just noticed that the expert just winked at rick before he told everyone the armor is worth 6 grand.
it was a secret code.. buy it
@@swagnexttuber-boombeach7092 or he lowballed the he'll out of the guy , guess we will never know for sure 🤷♂️🤷

Armor? Looks like a book to me... should’ve brought in Rebecca
Spot on😂
Cute Becky with the butt
That low ball wink appraisal. Lol!!!
4:51 Craig winks at Rick when he gives the estimate and Rick agrees to pay 5K for a supposed 6K item? This is soooo shady.
Yeah man you were correct seems shady
Just realised that
Craig always puts a low value, truly shady
Yes. That was the call sign.
I agree it looks shady but you have to remember these “experts” have a reputation to uphold if they in any way bend a value of an item to benefit rick they would lose credibility
"I'll cut ya deal at $15,000" then shows his poker tell. Kudos to him sticking to 5k when the real dealing started.
I was getting a hard attack when he told them 15K and then sold it even for 5k in Europe where i life i can get those for like 2k and 3k in the same condition...
This is the first time when a customer truly respected the experts appraisal when it was lower then their asking price
THE BLINKING
Squish. squish...
anybody???
It happens to me too when I get nervous lol
“You have to listen to what the expert has to say!” Can all customers walk into the shop with that mindset?!
Finally a seller who says 'Listen to the expert' 🤣
Rick: all I can do is, 5 dollars and 72 cents that’s all I can bud.
Kudos to this man for these words
"You really need to listen to the expert and the expert has to say"
I've got the Vaccine for COVID-19
Rick: *I just don't know enough about it. So let me have my buddy look at it*
@Logan Hernandez needles and lines
It would be epic if Dr. Fauci shows LOL
Rick : Its a limited market , it will sit on the shelf for an year or so.

Pete should have winked at Rick when negotiating the price. 😂😂😂
The wing nut was invented on July 25th 1933.
Golden rule when selling: it's worth what someone's willing to pay for it. The second it walked into the shop Rick wanted it and the seller could tell. He held firm and walked out with $5000 when Rick really wanted $4000, and if he didn't like it he would've offered $3,000.
"Best I can do is a Denny's coupon down the road for some French fries"
Denny has like the worst fries.
@@yashkapoor8005 ik that was the joke
Finally! Someone who is understanding and listens to the expert.
Seller: ci bon!
Old Man: okay, calm it down french fry...
I am a simple man. Just see old man and I instantly fall for it. Rip Richard the old man Harrison.
Rip
Honestly i enjoy the vids hes in bc hes funny, rip
The armour offered some protection against swords of course, but as the expert said, it also had a psychological impact. Yes it was heavy if you got knocked off your horse, but in that instance I'd be more worried about the huge stiff boots they had to wear. You aren't easily running around in those.
Rick: lemme call Napoleon Bonaparte 🇫🇷 down here, he’s a buddy of mine and he specialises in these kind of things.
Lemme call Louis the millionth

Finally, Rick got snookered. 😂 😝 💵
Never trust a guy who tries to sell you something and blinks 100 times a minute! 👀
Should have seen the expert wink his eye twice 😂😂😂
RIP Oldman Harrison

First time i see a guy who can negotiate in Pawn Stars!
He's one of those guys that blinks weird when he talks
Why do you feel the need to point that out specifically?
Lol fr creeps me out

He stopped blinking when he was told it was real
I've learned a lot of history stuff from this show then I ever did in school!
4:48 that wink...
That armour besides for looking cool was for stopping bayonets. Normal reaction in the 1800s to a cavalry change is to point bayonets at the guys charging.
Rick looks funny in the video thumbnail picture 😂😂
He blinks his eyes more than normal
Rick is always fair with his pricing.
Rick got hustled
Good thing they were able to strike a deal. If not, that seller would’ve left in the blink of an eye.
This seller is trying to roll out the hussle on this French Cuirass..
The armor was intended to protect against sword strikes rather than gunfire but this would be dated to around the last time that breastplates and mounted cavalry would be seen as effective on the battlefield.
A little trivia:
The Takeda Clan of ancient Japan dressed their shock troops on horseback in red armor. Very similar to Nathan Algren's (Tom Cruise) armor from the "The Last Samurai"
Las Vegas expert lol just sounds funny to me.
R.i.p old man, he was so funny 😂😂
I would totally buy it if I owned a big pawn shop. Imagine coming into a pawn shop and seeing it on display at the front door. It’s quite a statement piece! I would even let customers take selfies with it and charge them a fee. 😂
Guy looked like he wanted to cry when Rick put that hat on.
Old man knew what he was doing. Y'all see that smirk?
The only place where they got a buddy for everything.
Dude says earlier in the video that he has no clue what the set is worth: "I'll cut ya a good deal, 15 grand"🤣
Threads and wing nuts, from what year....I'm stunned and they look so clean - stunned they are not rivets if it is that old.
Are you an expert in 19th century French armor?
That's what I thought.
Probably one of only a handful of people that have actually respected the experts appraisal
Throw in a bottle of Lotion for them elbows Rick!
