Looking good you two! That splice on the frame is probably the strongest part of the entire frame. I guarantee, it is much more square than the rest of the frame. This build will be awesome when it's complete!
A chipping hammer for a stick welder works great for knocking off the slag from the plasma. Saves on grinding wheels. Looking good so far. Excited for you and Ashley. Happy New Year!!!
WOW FIRST!! as always great video and am pumped to see this series. NGL your first ton swap series has pushed me to do more fab/build work myself and push myself fabwise...if thats a word
I didn't fishplate the outside of my frame. I sleeved the inside of the filler with 4x pieces of 3/16" plate. Rosette welded plate to existing frame halves.
Great job really getting into this build series keep the videos coming…….. and Ashley is doing great on them welds for having very few hours behind the gun…… is this going to be a low center of gravity build with flat belly?
Good to hear. And Ashley seems like a natural for welding. And our plan is to get the belly as flat as possible and it will definitely be lower center of gravity
Hey guys is there a reason other than savings that you didn’t fabricate or buy a balk half kit to make a stretch .. I plan on stretching my LJ but I think I am going to get me another frame center and do a front n rear stretch while I am wheeling my factory Lj frame and then selling it to cover some of the cost of the build on the stretched frame
Wow, you two are amazing. Nice welding, Ashley.
Thank you!
Thank you!! 😊😊

I was debating on doing something like that too. Definitely a cleaner look the way you went about doing it

It was really just money. If we were keeping it a TJ then we would without a doubt got a back half kit or made our own.
Hello~This is Cherry from Coverado. Nice to meet you.
We are now looking for some partners to try our Wrangler seat covers.
Are you interested?🥰
Thank you for reaching out, but at this moment we are not interested. Thanks for you consideration.
