cats apparently do this when they are afraid that another animal is going to steal their food, so they eat it all very fast so others can’t get it. Cats are naturally territorial about everything especially food.
You notice this sort of behaviour in just about all kittens, they frenziedly eat as much as they can as quickly as possible. Presumably its since they are litter animals, you gotta get them cronches in or else your sibling is going to scoff it. I guess its just a behaviour these cats never grew out of.
Alternative thought: I eat popcorn this way too.

It’s basic instincts really, most animals are territorial over food as in the wild food is life or death. Most house cats happily stop eating when full and are ok with sharing food bowls. Therefore, I think this is more of a case of cats being greedy. Either way, it’s still funny to watch lol.

Jewelry is ok, it seems to be wearing a bracelet of their owner's as a collar haha but the nails.. that's a definite no. Painting your cat or dog's nails or dying their fur is among the worst things to do :(

I have biscuits down for mine all the time just as extra for in between meals ( wet food ) and they just much on the biscuits now and then through the day, no gorging like this!! Plus their treats!

Careful with the wet food. The big brands in cans are the same nutritionally. It also can rot their teeth. They eat or crunch bones in the wild so do need some kind of crunch

Super cute but most of the cats in this video have way too much food in their dish at a time. One scoop, maybe two, once or twice a day is good to avoid obesity. If there's worry about the cat being hungry, there are cute toys that portion out treats for light daytime grazing and play. Entertainment with a little snack. What could be better! Happy eating :)

I feel like they're doing this because it feels more like they're killing and eating prey than a munchy snack. And cats have really weird mouths... they can't grind food back and forth, only up and down, so I'm sure it feels better to get their whole jaw around the food instead of trying to daintily scoop up individual bits. I'm surprised more cats don't eat like this.

This is a form of food aggression. They are getting everything they can before another cat comes along. Probably a learned behavior.
Cats are carnivores. The "meat" we humans eat is the muscle part, but for carnivores, "meat" also includes internal organs and blood, and they maintain a nutritional balance by consuming all the stomach contents and blood of herbivores.
It would be very difficult to substitute that with boiled chicken and vegetables.
Some pet owners feed their pets homemade food for various reasons, such as worrying about additives and preservatives, wanting to show affection to them, and wanting to feed them fresh food.
In such cases, I think it is important to have regular health checkups, including blood tests, to make sure that their health is being maintained.

They are carnivores, taking a mouthfull of flesh out of a dead animal or chewing down a mouse is normal naturally. But we feed them rounded dry hard kibble. The thing to consider with animals is it's all about efficiency, bringing in as many calories as possible while using the least amount of energy. But thats with natural sources of food. With kibble some cats simply don't figure out it's actually easier to only grab a few at a time. My cat had this problem really bad as she came from a feral family. I got her young but she still had quite a wild streak. She used to eat herself sick every time with kibble. It took years but I eventually got her to figure out it's easier to eat only a few at a time. Everyday when I filled her bowl I would stand there for a couple minutes, let her take a mouthful and then pull her back from her bowl until she ate her mouthful and swallowed. Then I would let her grab another mouthfull, pull her back and not let her go back until her mouth was empty. In doing this she would drop most of the food from her mouth when i pulled her back, then she would eat them one at a time off the floor. So she no longer shovels food down her throat and pukes 5 minutes later. The only negative about it is she now takes food out of her bowl, drops it on the floor then eats it, and she doesn't clean up her crumbs. lol I think the basis of the whole thing is #1 cats are not truly domesticated, so eating out of a bowl is weird, plus we feed them kibble which couldn't be further from thier evolutionary diet. Factor in that some cat breeds are even less domestic by nature and you see problems like this. One thing I notices on the hiarless cat eating from the red bowl, the outside of the bowl was covered in scratches from that poor cats teeth, please be sure your cats bowl is big enough. That poor cat is damaging his teeth every time he eats.
Mine doesnt get sick, so I found the trick is to keep the bowl well filled, and then I keep the cat well-loved (and he knows it, he's just being stubborn).
Also take one out of their book (the minimal exertion/calories thing), just add a rubber mat or plastic tray in their eating area, why spend eons with knees on the floor cleaning it when you can bring the floor to you? :)

I have 4 cats and have had others that have since passed away and none do this which is kind of surprising because one of the triplet Russian Blues just eats, and eats, and eats. Her sisters are skinny.

Okay, apparently, from reading the comments, people DON'T KNOW this:
It's WAY too much food. Like waaaaay too much. I would say that 1/3 of a closed fist is pretty standard (from measuring with my own hand just now 😂). I've had cats all my life and they will get faaaaat if you feed them like this and then they get sick and have lots of diseases that can turn out to be fatal. If my cat ate like this (not the amount of food, but the python thingy) then I'd give them a "foodball" (a ball they have to slap around before food rolls out) to make them eat slower, because eating too fast (not just too much) is also unhealthy for them and they're more likely to puke.
I'm just a guy that knows and loves animals and I just want people to be informed. I know you do it out of love for your fur babies - but animals don't know restraint, simply because in the wild food is scarce. Like a wolf - it will literally eat a whole deer and if it encounter another, try to eat that also - because it doesn't know when it will be fed again.
TL;DR: Show restraint for your fur babies, they can't do it themselves
Rhey added more food for the video. My cats eats the same, and he absolutely cant eat out of a bowl with food only at the bottom, i had to give him more food so he would eat properly. Now i have bowl woth 15° angle, but he still needs a "pile" of food.
Good thing i have another cat who eats the same food, so she eats whats on the bottom 😄

Ugh! My cat does the same thing, and I usually find out the hard way……… So I try to scatter his crunchy food/treats so he hast to work a little bit harder to eat them and not “inhale“ them.

Cats also eat like that when they dont have their big fang teeth .they are eith missing the 2 upper fang teeth or lower ones...because they cant grasp up thier food properly... hence the big mouth face into the food .so they look weird when the cats eat cause of missing teeth

I have to wonder if these cats are wolfing down massive bites of kibble because of the sheer amount of food being put in front of them. Maybe in their little cat brains, huge bowl of food = more likely to draw in bigger carnivores. Do they think they have to eat it all quickly because they fear something else preventing them from eating for the rest of the month? Seriously, why were these cats being served 60% of their body weight in kibble??? Free feeding seems to create fat cats. Isn't it much better for them to give them a reasonable portion of wet food twice a day?
