      As someone who makes custom tailored clothing this is garbage. Waste of time for everyone involved. Far from “real men real style.” If a tailored t shirt is that desirable Someone could drive to wal mart and buy a shitty $150 serger and alter every t shirt they own in the time it takes to hand stitch 1.

      Proper? That is subjective. The shirt actually looks better with the classic regular fit. Tailored/fitted just has an awkward, unnatural appearance and is also quite uncomfortable.

      Unfortunately not reliable.

    • @joebloggs430
      @joebloggs430 2 роки тому +7

      ... ha ha ! If you already have a 'perfect fitting t-shirt' .... brilliant ! So simple, you just need to already have a 'perfectly fitting t-shirt'. Don't worry if you can't get one, just send your body in for re-shaping to the standard sizes of each brand that you like, they can fit you with some kind of adjustable mesh insert with stops for each different brand so you can just re-morph yourself for the occasion. Inspirational :)

      @@stevemorbey Sounds like the brands your buying from have terrible quality control. Try a little more expensive brands. The time it saves you is priceless

    • @stevemorbey
      @stevemorbey 2 роки тому

      @@seansimmons73 In all honesty, for the most part you are right about the higher end brands. However many of the mid/high end brands I like are good quality, but have slightly different fits for different body types. I train in the gym, so my proportions are a bit awkward. So i frequently end up with excess bagginess around the stomach area whilst shoulders and chest fit perfectly.
      e.g. I travelled to a good quality leather maker recently for a jacket, they have a substantial range of the Cafe Racer type I was looking for, but accommodated for several different body shapes for each chest size. So found my self looking for a very specific fit.
      This is common practice for me for several high end brands I like.
      For the last few years, I’ve taken every suit and shirt I’ve bought to a tailor for alterations, as I like a perfect fit.
      Nice to see videos like this that show how people could DIY it easily if they wanted to though.

    Good idea. But I'd still opt to using the machine. If you don't have one, if you have a good relationship with your mother or mother inlaw you can probably borrow hers. If you are smart you mark out all your shirts and do it all at once. Though a more likely outcome if you try to borrow her sewing machine is she'll probably insist on doing it for you no matter how old you are. Men who aren't mammas boys are men with inferiority complexes.

    Since the iron is probably going to be used for other tasks and on heavier fabrics, an iron should put out a decent amount of steam. The iron you are showing has approximately 7 or 8 holes for doing this - that's a joke! How about you skip the $40 belt and buy a decent iron instead (maybe 70 holes). I realize my Rowenta iron has around 400 holes and costs a bit, but it can make seams in heavier weight fabric, like denim. Besides, isn't the whole point of this channel making oneself look professional, not just DIY?
