Thanks to random parts lots I have an unintentional collection of mostly orange and black D&RGW RR rolling stock. They plus appropriate Halloween toys and candies have been my defacto Trick or Treat train for years lol.
Great video, and I really enjoy your historical perspective of what has been produced in the past. I agree that the Harry Potter train is appropriate as well. Best of all, you can make up your own set as you demonstrate so well. Thanks for all of your efforts in posting such interesting and helpful videos for the hobby!
I like your Southern Pacific Halloween set, having recently picked up that KLine AA set. I would probably spray paint the caboose black, or get a matching SP black caboose, if one is available. Earlier this year I was thinking of rotating seasonal trains all year long. This is a good fit for my train addiction, giving me an appropriate, in my mind, excuse to keep looking for, and buying, more trains. Some seasons are easy, such as Christmas, Halloween, 4th of July, Presidents/Memorial day. Other holidays, (Valentines, Easter, St. Particks Day, etc.), would require more thought. The idea being fun, without spending too much. Anyway, another great video! I enjoyed it.
Great stuff. I buy cheap rolling stock and let my grandchildren decorate them for all of the holidays. They really get a kick out of seeing what they created on the layout. I use an old scout #249 which has an orange stripe to pull the halloween train. Thanks for your suggestions.
I got an MPC DT&I switcher and a Hershey’s reefer and Sun Maid raisins hopper that’ll make a great trick or treat express for Halloween. Think I’ll make a Halloween video of my layout as well. Interesting Mike?
I collect orange 🧡🍊 🚂🚆 trains. I have a whole 027 layout with the orange 🧡🍊 MTH train station. It's under my hi- rail layout. I painted the roofs of all the passenger cars so they are solid orange 🍊🧡. Everything new Lionel is too expensive for me .I am so glad I bought a bunch of reefer cars from Weaver before he retired. I also have scale zombies on the layout.
I went to my local Michael’s and bought a bunch of skeleton figures plus some 4 inch skeletons. I put them in a bunch of my cars plus my Lionel auto loader car.
That Disneyland record scared the poo out of me back in the day

Halloween is my favorite holiday. Funny enough I've never bothered to modify my layout for Halloween. I really should someday.
I have a bunch of glow in the dark tank cars . I love glow in the dark stuff . Even when they are on the shelf they still glow in the dark.
👍

Well, that does it! Im walking down to the corner store to see if they have any decorations fit for o scale trains. Thanks!
My pumpkins came from Dollar Tree.
Great video. Now I am scared. Hobby lobby has some great small foam pumpkins in orange, and green. They have pine cones. Also they have hay bales.

What is your secret on buy cheap rolling stock
1) Local train shows 2) eBay mixed lots 3) persistence and dumb luck
Halloween festivities? Don`t you mean a demonic celebration? I`ll step this one a side.
