Explain that to the kids why they now have to visit their Dad and his new girlfriend/wife and are from a broken home while a few actually get to live with their Dads. See if you can keep your crap together when you are told that you are now out of the family/marriage and will now have to visit your kids. Michael came across, to me, in the early seasons as very devoted and reserved.
He seemed like a quiet goof who genuinely loved and cared for his wife.
I'm realizing quickly that the majority of Michael's edit on the show was spun in a VERY positive direction.

It was always apparent to me that everything Michael did and said was under the directive of the TLC crew, including pushing Tammy's wheelchair.

@@joelle4226 Trauma? What a ridiculous statement. Divorce is trauma and having to go visit your dad is trauma. .You have no clue if he is taking care of the kids, in plenty of episodes he is helping. No reason to be there? I thought the reason for marriage was because you loved the man and wanted to spend the rest of your life with him.
I live in a different state but I can tell you it’s very difficult to get an emergency ppo against a spouse you share children with. Things have to get pretty bad before the court will step in.
I hate that after everything that Amy has been through, before the show even, after all these years that Michael would act that way and they are now divorcing. My heart hurts for her and her sons. They've been together for so long and suddenly she's a single mom of two under 3yo with a lot going on. I hope she finds peace and has all the support she needs with her babies

After finding out *how* they got together, I’ve side eyed him ever since. Doesn’t surprise me at all. There’s always something off with relationships where one partner was wayy too young when it started. Hope Amy and her kids can have some peace. It’s rough growing up with stuff like that going on

Amy and her children deserve better. It’s better to be single than with someone who you’re not happy with. Michael getting violent is another red flag. He isn’t owed a relationship. Amy is allowed to leave and I’m glad she has.
I’m honestly very proud of Amy for being brave enough and setting boundaries to leave. That takes a lot especially when you’ve got kids involved. So 100% support her doing what she needs to for herself and her babies
I always thought Michael seemed like a very simple, reserved man that loved Amy on the show. The last couple episodes plus this tell there’s more to the story. I hope Amy is ok, it looked like she was struggling with either postpartum or just adjusting to being a mom of two. I have faith that her siblings will be there for her ❤
Leaving a man (or woman) when they do not help with childcare or housework is most definitely a valid reason to leave someone. We have to stop letting our partners get so comfortable treating us like a maid/nanny.

kinda crazy how in first season michael got really good edit so everyone liked him and only now that everything felt apart behind the scenes they are showing less postive moments :/
i wonder if tlc values amy the same way they did kate gosselin... they paid for her divorce + custody attorneys so that she would keep filming the show (jon wanted kids off the show as he noticed they are filmed almost 24/7 and it started to take a toll on them)
Hey Zach! Thank you for touching on this topic. I'm a legal advocate for DA victims and write protective orders all day! Something I find interesting is the fact that custody was impacted by the order. In my state, this would only happen if the abuser was directing aggression directly at the child. I really hope Michael did not do something to those poor kiddos.

Or TLC edited it to look like he barely talked. I think we need to remember that we only see a tiny window into their life and the most insidious abusers are usually loved by people outside the home. They can be very charming and put on the show like they are loving and caring. That's how you end up with the age old story of the manipulator with a long line of what they say are "crazy" Ex's only to find out they are totally reasonable and they are the fruit basket.

3. It is hard when we only see what is produced but people put their lives out there on UA-cam/TLC/etc opening themselves up to public opinion/speculation/scrutiny at times and unfortunately people can be very ugly to one another etc etc over very sensitive subjects at times.
All I know is I hope nothing but the best for those involved and support people who feel leaving a relationship is in the best interest of everyone’s physical/mental health etc etc

Stop rewarding and praising men for doing the bare minimum you wouldn't even remark upon if a woman was doing it, and stop assuming women who don't conform to western beauty standards are unlovable y'all. Nobody needs to or should stay with anybody they don't want to be with anymore, regardless of their history, experiences or situation. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I recall people digging into Michael's past about an isolated DV incident with an ex when he and Amy were first dating years ago.
Michael was arrested for assault/DV back in 2015ish. I don’t know if he was with Amy but I remember seeing his mugshot and people discussing the charges and if he’s changed.
He was married to one of Amy’s sisters back then.
hi Zachary! I am a long time watcher of your channel from the UK but maybe you didn't know this so I'm posting my first comment to share. The Sun is absolutely detested in the UK. It has a lot of sleezy articles, false stories and controversy over their old "Page 3 models" which I would Google as I don't want to explain. The main hatred comes from their coverage of the Hillsborough Disaster which was a human crush that claimed the lives of many in the UK in the past. If you want to see why I think a Google search would do better than I can. They might be reliable when it comes to the 1000lb sisters verse but I personally wouldn't promote or recommend this rag of a paper. No issue to you, I don't expect any non Brits to know about this but just so you have some context about the nature of this paper and the backlash.

They had a lot of stress in their lives. Weight loss, two new babies, buying a house, kinda traumatic birth with the second one. These major life events can put a lot of pressure and break even strong relationships.

The fact that people think amy should stay with Michael is DISGUSTING. It proves that women/men in abusive relationships feeling alone in terms of legal and social terms is validated and its an entire fucking issue with society where relationship are the holy grail of life. I hope Amy is safe and I hope michael stays away from her. Queen can AND will do better, whether that's alone or with a new man.

They bought a home.
He was a man child playing video games while Amy did the moving & shaking. He was used to having all her attention.

He was married to one of Amy’s sisters. Amy has a video on her channel that she shared…a story time telling how she dated Michael was she was 8yrs old and he was 14yrs old. She even said that Michael showed her his peen at 8 mind you.

Zach: to answer your question about the seasons. I remember that it was Tammy that put out a video that the Season was going to be in 2 parts. The first 8 episodes were going to be 4A and the next 8 episodes were called 4B. She said that she couldn't wait to start filming 4B. So I was totally surprised that it was actually 10 episodes and this might be the end. I imagine that they are going to have a hard time working around the divorce and are going to have to write around a lot of it for privacy reasons. Michael will not allow anymore story about him I can imagine.
