Actually, having happened already, there'd still be a 1 in 1 million chance, the original chance of it happening. The chances of it happening 3 times in a row, however, is 1 million cubed.
I have one of these. The blade is dangerous. When closed, if you don't use the safety catch, the blade will try to work itself open ocassionally. Open it carelessly and you'll cut your hand wide open. The snap closure is stiff and can make folding it an adventure in slicing. I never use it as an EDC. I wouldn't recommend it as anything but a novelty.
just wanted to say thanks for including the scorpiodesign link in the description. Not to many reviewers that I've seen do that, also i'm loving your videos so far so keep up the good work!
10 dollars for a cheap piece of crap that breaks in a months time, or 10 dollars for a carbon steel opinel knife that lasts you for a lifetime? Hmm....decisions decisions.
thank you for not being like others and going on a rant cause i didnt know and i didnt want to look through your entire channel to try and find it awesome channel by the way
What tools would you recommend for resharpening knives the most and how much practice does it take? I have a pretty normal Opinel Inox, that I used for simple woodwork a lot and now it is pretty dull. Not as durable as a swizz army knife, even though it was much sharper when it came and the handle is way mor comfortable. A friend suggested using a flex, but I'm not so sure if I can trust his judgement completely. He tends to do everything a bit over the top
It depends on how much effort you want to invest to learn knife sharpening. If you want to learn the technique I would recommend Waterstones and later maybe diamond plates. But it also depends on the price of your knifes. For a 10$ knife you would not use a sharpening machine like my tormek T4 for about 600€. If you want fast results without much training effort I would recommend something like the horl knife sharpener.
Thank you for sharing this weirdness! To hell with the complaints about you 'talking too much,' we watch these videos to watch a dedicated fan talk about his opinion and perspective on whatever you are reviewing. There is a mute button, so don't complain about free entertainment.
Does the blade lock open, or do you just hold it open by holding the handle? And also, can it be tightened enough to make one-handed opening impossible?
Gimmickry in folding knives has been common for as long as there has been folding knives. I like the spirit of innovation and creativity involved. Sometimes the design is a hit, like the Linerlock, but often it is a miss. This one looks like a miss. I'm sure the custom knife is great, but for a cheap version there's too many moving parts to get loose and fall apart. Plus it's just too weird for most guys. An well, as long as I have my Buck 110, I'm fine.
Oh so Tacti-Cool....lol I did see the 1st review, so I had to check this one, to see the "why" again report... And now I know... I know you & Cara don't celebrate Christmas (freaks lol) so I'll wish the both of you a Happy New Year! Hopefully it's a better year for all of us....
I agree to the people say you talk to much. You should just upload 15seconds videos without any sound.... Just kidding :D keep it up and don't do what the public says but what you love and like. Greets from Germany :)
Nice video, I actually make larger fixed blade knives and this is probably the farthest thing from that. Although it would be nice to know where I could purchase one inexpensively to look at.
probably gonna buy this cheaper alternative. i was looking at the original version made by scorpiodesign and the price range is above 700euros (almost over $1000)
m.facebook.com/groups/709875122423364?view=permalink&id=908984289179112 here's a video of someone else reviewing it, but I'd like to see a video on your opinion
Basically all the same problems/advantages of a lightsaber: massless blade who's entire surface is a cutting surface that will go through any material. Balance would be bizarre because literally all the weight is in the handle and none anywhere else. You couldn't employ many sword techniques with it, as you'd risk burning off your own body parts if you weren't careful. (the way that Spartans and Elites employ it, making long lunging cuts that keep the blade far away from it's wielder, is probably the only way you could use it safely and effectively)
I also kind of don't see what the point would be, assuming a level of technology existed that made it (and thus also things like plasma rifles and handheld railguns, etc) possible. 99% of the time you'd never employ it because you'd be vaporizing dudes at long range, or vaporing them at close range in CQC. I suppose it could take the place of the combat knife now, if it had some kind of grip safety like sidearms do, so that it could not activate unless actually in the hand.
I like to keep a cheap knife with me, they're actually pretty useful, you can do wathever you want with them because if they break or get damaged you wont have lost many money
Out of all the knifes, I still love the balisong... Have you seen how many tricks you can do? This thing is so limited :| (I like balisong because of spy in TF2, Lol)
the funny thing is, if the blade didnt lock open (even if the lock seems rather weak) it would make it legal for edc in the uk. (we have rather strict knife laws)
it wouldnt be classed as a lock knife in the uk as the blade will collapse under a small amount of pressure... your palm is the lock on this knife which is not part of the knife its your hand... it would have to lock open and have a release mechanism to be illegal in the uk... also blade has to be under 3" plus you have to have a good reason to carry a "legal" knife i.e work , fishing ect... otherwise you will still be arrested for carrying an offensive weapon wether the knife is legal or not
in 20 years, the Chinese knockoff will be long gone. But the real deal from Gunther will be worth 3x what it costs today. Back in the 80's I worked in Montana and had the opportunity to buy some Ruana knives before they were well known. At the time, I paid about $100.00 each for them, but now they're worth over $1,000.00. Also, was just looking and it looks like the Chinese ones are "unavailable" now as well.
It's weird and I'm not sure I like it. That sort of mechanism looks like someone tried to reinvent the wheel, and made it triangular instead of round. It still doesn't beat pantographic knives, though, which look like someone tried to reinvent the wheel and made it into a Jacob's Ladder.
Im all for getting origional's instead of chineese knockoffs, but 800 euros!! for the love of god thats the price of a nice computer, i'll get 4 of the knockoffs and just never use 3 of them lol
Right when he said "now you can stop watching" my internet cut out and the video stopped
+ANGRY MUSHROOM same
Actually, having happened already, there'd still be a 1 in 1 million chance, the original chance of it happening. The chances of it happening 3 times in a row, however, is 1 million cubed.
Same here - INCREDIBLE :D
God Skall has spoken
You could open a weapon museum with all the amazing stuff you own.
Omg hurry up and open it in already 5 seconds in and he still hasn't opened it...
Wouldn't be effective at all, doesn't have a pommel to end your enemies rightly.
true
Eric Osborne
you can close it and chuck it at them, if the lock doesn't brake
literally game-breaking
Thank you so much for showing it at the start for the impatient. As an impatient I thank you and you have earned my like just for that

I personally like your explanations and brainstorms about stuff. Also awesome video :)
awesome! thanks for the impatient part! it actually made me watch the entire video rather than skipping through to the demo!
I hope you bring this series back.
Could you share a link where you got that cheap Chinese version of the knife
10 dollars for a cheap piece of crap that breaks in a months time, or 10 dollars for a carbon steel opinel knife that lasts you for a lifetime? Hmm....decisions decisions.
Your up close, carful demonstration of the knife -- awesome. Thank you.
thank you for not being like others and going on a rant cause i didnt know and i didnt want to look through your entire channel to try and find it awesome channel by the way
The more extensive review is the video that got me to subscribe to you.
But it's nice to see a new one that focuses on the goods.
I don't mind hearing you talk about the stuff you seem like a cool dude and you are very informative
I'm curious on how efficient the knife is over time.
Cheaply efficient, I'm sure.
Merry Christmas to you and your family

it is not strange or weird, it's creative!
+Araria K So, that's the argument most Instagram 16-21y/o girls with tattoos and colored hair have when criticized, huh?
Thanks for the tip!
BloodOfTartaros I call that one weird
+Araria K Just because its different, doesnt mean its useful
de0509 That's exactly why i call it weird.
The knife itself kinda useful for cutting not-so-sturdy thing
they stole the idea you Dingus.
I found your channel because of the first video with this knife. No regrets since ^^
I don't even have this knife, but I can definitely feel blood running down my fingers *shivers*
Do You know about any laws about that style of knife since it has a very unusual opening?
I just bought this with my brother in the street, very sharp and cool knife!
LOVE your knife reviews bro :)

Me too

Greets from Germany :)
Best video start ever.
Nice video, I actually make larger fixed blade knives and this is probably the farthest thing from that. Although it would be nice to know where I could purchase one inexpensively to look at.
If it had a built-in whetstone, so it sharpens every time it's opened, wouldn't that work quite nicely?
this is a really cool design. people should keep in mind the philosophy of use when it comes to collecting weapons, etc.
the philosophy of... what, exactly?
First 15 seconds: WHOOOAA THAT'S FUCKIN SICK
I really want this!
It's such a cool knife for work, obviously not a combat knife but it's a groovy little thing for work and to show off a bit :D
Being different makes it cool, but it is not a design that I would be overly interested in. Thank You for sharing.
probably gonna buy this cheaper alternative. i was looking at the original version made by scorpiodesign and the price range is above 700euros (almost over $1000)
Legit appreciate getting right to it for who only want to see the knife
great vid.btw are you sick or is the sound in the video weird
the sarcasm in the beginning is too funny
Looks surprisingly practical really.
where did you buy that knife
@skallagrim Do a video on the Kershaw External Toggle! It's up there with all of these crazy opening mechanisms!
m.facebook.com/groups/709875122423364?view=permalink&id=908984289179112
here's a video of someone else reviewing it, but I'd like to see a video on your opinion
I wanted to get a good version of this one ... but 600€+ ... I just can't afford that ._.
The damast version is about 800
What type of metal is it made of
It looks like a handheld trip to the hospital if you aren't careful opening it.
does it come with free stitches? :-)nice knife thanks
What do you use these kind of knifes for? Or is it only for display?
thats what i was wondering
Usually just collectors, as a trinket or a bored teenager to show his friends.
I think its Cool looking, rather than strange/wierd, I love out of the Box thinking and doing something other than "normal" :)
Merry Christmas Skallagrim
Nice outro. Like the video collage
that was a weird one... what was the name of the other company? Scorpio... something... any links to them?
Where did you get this knife i want it i know its a wierd opening machanism but i want it
That's so weird that I love it. Would love having it
***** do you think the halo energy sword is a good/functional design?
Basically all the same problems/advantages of a lightsaber: massless blade who's entire surface is a cutting surface that will go through any material. Balance would be bizarre because literally all the weight is in the handle and none anywhere else. its about the design not about the material
Oh, so you mean like a real sword, made of steel, but just in the same shape as the Covenant Energy Sword?
jep
I like to keep a cheap knife with me, they're actually pretty useful, you can do wathever you want with them because if they break or get damaged you wont have lost many money
Personally, I enjoy seeing inventive fold-away utilities... even if they arent the least bit practical :P
How would one order one of these knives?
A while back i bought a knife similar to that but the mechanism was in the rear. Unfortunately it was stolen. Can anyone tell me the name?
On also when you first initially open it it looks like it was very easy to cut yourself pass on this blade 😂 sticking to my otf or Kershaw speedsafe 🔥
Is it factory new though???
where did you buy that ring ?????????????
Where'd you get the ring though
The second knife in the picture what is it
Out of all the knifes, I still love the balisong... Have you seen how many tricks you can do? This thing is so limited :|
(I like balisong because of spy in TF2, Lol)
Talking about weird knifes, does poisonous knifes did exist? Like the ones in hunter x hunter or like the katana of saya in blood+?
I like when you just keep talking. I got one thing you can say to the impatient people, and that is "fuck off". Great videos man, peace.
I WANT ONE OF THE ORIGINAL SHAPESHIFTERS NOW!!!
I did too until I saw the price tag : (
darkfire103 It's a little hefty, but I might still consider getting one.
I still believe that if a knife *needs* a safety there is a design flaw.
The ScorpioDesign knives were all super expensive. The Shapeshifters were all upwards of 600€.
where can you buy that knife
Do you like melo death metal? or are you more into other metal genre's?
is that a green carbon fiber ring?
I actually bought this for like £3 when you first reviewed it, worth it for the fun side
I would be wary of this. The more moving parts in a mechanism the more likely it will be to fail. I'd go with a regular folder any day.
You're such an awesome person! Love your vids :D
It doesn't look like Mr. Lobach, is doing anything with his website anymore.
Where did u get this knife
its kinda cool. its one of those "look at this thing" knives conversation pieces
Is this knife illegal in the US?
the funny thing is, if the blade didnt lock open (even if the lock seems rather weak) it would make it legal for edc in the uk.
(we have rather strict knife laws)

skall your a awesome youtuber keep up the good work :)
Hey skall big fan love your vids i actually just ordered that knife or one of its many copies but anyway keep your vids coming
So, would you trust it in your pocket? Please respond!
I love your knife, but these crazy, lol greetings

Liked at 23 seconds cause it's exactly what I wanted to see and then hear about after
Y u guys dissing this is a cheap sweet blade to add to my collection
Thank you
where can I buy one
The blade will get dull faster when it is being rubbed by the handle
Where can i get one
that is actually a smart opening mechanism
give it in a better vision
Kind of sucks that it is a rip off, but that is way better than a counterfit.
Im all for getting origional's instead of chineese knockoffs, but 800 euros!! for the love of god thats the price of a nice computer, i'll get 4 of the knockoffs and just never use 3 of them lol
That opening mechanism looks somewhat dangerous lol
