Nice mod! I would’ve connected the diff breather extension first. Then changed the diff fluid just in case if any debris fell into the diff. Also it’s best to replace the rear diff fluid on a level surface.
Hey Bill, thank you! I just finished the install over the weekend and have some cinematic shots to film this coming weekend. These shorter days have been a real pain for filming after work in the evenings. Hoping to install over the weekend or early next week.
Mostly because I didn’t feel like putting the GX up on quick jacks that evening. I left plenty of slack for full droop when I trimmed. Great question, in hindsight I should have made a note during the trim section.
Hey A Buck. The factory drain plug is magnetic...I must have gone too many miles without changing and the amount of build up was beyond what the magnet could retain.
I'm glad the links were helpful in getting everything you needed for the job. I have submerged many times since this video, but I think the real test would be when I drain the diff oil next to see if water or mud made it in. The fittings are all in tact, so I don't have concerns that any water or debris made it's way in.
@@peteru9980 That's awesome to hear!! I love this bumper so far! Yes, I'm planning to work with Lasfit on LED pods for this bumper. They currently don't have a flush mount option and I'd like to flush mount these rather than just sitting on the inside of the bumper. I may also do a Baja Designs flush mount light and compare to Lasfit lights.
Hey Moin Vlogs! I'm running 285 on the width of those Wildpeaks. I have a video documenting all the wheel and tire specs. ua-cam.com/video/j7VlcnApt3k/v-deo.html
Hey Stephen! This is a 2005 GX and it had 139k miles when I bought and it's now sitting at 179k miles. It still drives so well and I love this vehicle...many more miles to put on this GX in the future!
I'll have to join when I move to the local area.
Yes! We can do Awesomoto group trail ride events!

lol yes, that would have been a better order of operations...completely agree!
Great, easy mod. Looking forward to the snorkle install!

Would like to know what the part #is for the threaded union joint on the GX470 do you have product links for psarts
All part numbers and links are in the video description.
Fantastic diy tutorial!
Thanks Tuuni!!
I wonder if you stick heavy magnets on the outside of you diff that the metal shavings will stick to the walls of the diff away from the moving gears?
I think that would work and you could also probably use it to pull the metal towards the drain hole when you change fluids!
So I am curious at why you cut the tube when your rear axle isn’t at full droop.

@@Awesomoto that was smart I like the way you think
thanks for passing on your knowledge😊😊😊
Of course Humberto! Thank you for reaching out and watching my videos!
Magnetic drain plugs for diff might be available if it's not Magnetic from factory. That'll help keep the metal out of the moving parts.
Hey A Buck. The factory drain plug is magnetic...I must have gone too many miles without changing and the amount of build up was beyond what the magnet could retain.
Appreciate you having all the links! Waiting on all the parts so I can relocate mine too. Have you gotten a chance to test submerge to test it out?

I wanna get some 33" mud tires for my gx
Do you have product links?
Hey Peter, Good catch and sorry I forgot to add those. I've updated the description to include all the part links.
@@Awesomoto by the way, i just install the bumper and love it, do you plan on installing 3 in cube light

Anyone use magnetic drain plugs to capture some of the metal? Overkill?
The drain plug is magnetic from factory, which is a great feature.
Hey bro good night what are the width of your tires

Where the links at bro?
LOL Thanks for letting me know...looks like I forgot them when I uploaded. I've updated the description with links. Thanks for reaching out!
As long as there are no larger pieces of metal flakes you should be fine.
Thanks Alex! From searching around the forums it sounds like you are correct and that fine amounts of metal shavings are expected.
How many miles have you put on it and are you still happy with it. What year is and how many miles total does it have
