Torquing the intake tube to spec will crush the plastic. Had to buy a new tube, thought it was a problem with the wrench so bought a new wrench as well, but still at about 20 in-lb felt like it was going to crush the new tube so I stopped. So now it’s 10 in-lb under torque spec. Not too excited about that. And I’m out $120 for the fix. Anyways thought folks might want to know that. Thanks for the video.

Can you think of any reason why I couldn't just install the air intake accelerator (part that goes in the fender) and install the TRD filter in the existing air intake box?
Pretty sure that would work fine.
Could I just buy the TRD airbox cover since I'm using my stock airbox (with KN filter)?
I'm not sure if Toyota sells just the lid. I'm also not 100% if it would fit on the oem lower. I think it will but we didn't test that.

When you installed this intake, is the TRD exhaust also on the truck? I’ve been reading both compliment each other.
The Tacoma has just the stock exhaust but you are right, intake and exhaust compliment each other.
