I thought that was a silly thing to do because I never said that to end a phone conversation with him before. The next morning the hospital called and said he had passed away from a heart attack. I think about that often and wish I could have that moment to do over again. Even though our relationship was strained at the time I want to go back and tell him I loved him. I should have said it. I went to this video to learn about The Flash's live action history. I did not expect to be bawling my eyes out at the end. As someone who recently lost their grandmother, that hit me in a much more personal way. I thank you for being brave enough to share that with us.
Maybe Chase Iron Eyes accepts their creepy relationship now because Tokata might go no contact if he doesn't. Chase's retraction Instagram statement does not erase the fact that Miller ingratiated themself in the Iron Eyes family when Tokata was 12/13 years old. The fact that Miller continued their relationship with Tokata into adulthood is a red flag. Mental illness doesn't excuse years-long, methodical (alleged) grooming or cult-building. One can be mentally ill and still know right from wrong.
Not to mention there were other alleged cases of him interacting with other girls as young as 12 years old besides her, so I wouldn't dismiss everything entirely. Either way, I doubt seriously we'll ever know the full story. The only people who know what really happened are the alleged victims, Ezra Miller and all other parties involved. (i.e. the parents) But either way, none of this bad press helped the film in my opinion.

That opening with Dr.Manhattan was perfect literally how I felt growing up waiting for the flash movie to be made finally when I was 24 they made it but we all know how that turned out 😂
I think that the worst thing Dark Flash does, narratively, is remove Barry's culpability from doing anything. Like, Barry starts things, but everything after is done by Dark Flash (whether actually him or younger Barry). He pushes him out of the Chronobowl, he gets the powers for most of the movie, he's the one that continually resets the final battle. Barry figures out exceptionally quickly that he has to fix things, but simply doesn't have the ability to for most of the movie. Flashpoint is about Barry figuring out his hero complex and learning he can't fix everything, that there's consequences. But introducing Dark Flash pushes the blame outside of him, changes it from internal to external. Muddies the narrative to make someone else do the bad stuff. Why does Barry have to learn to change himself if he figures it out from the beginning, but loses his powers to stop him doing it, then has to fight a guy who didn't learn the exact same problem? It's not a him problem if Dark Flash is the one doing things
15:06 The problem isn’t necessarily the tailoring of the neck of Batman’s cowl, but rather that, in the 60’s show, the cape was always put on after the cowl, pinching it down around his neck. But in Legends the cowl is put on after the cape, letting it hang as it naturally would. It’s a really small thing, but makes the costume look dramatically worse than it should
The important thing to remember with Ezra Miller is the same people who let him get that bad are gonna let it happen to other people because they just see them as a resource.
I can legit guarantee you that everything Ezra did, or allegedly did, were already done by other Hollywood Alumni. And in some cases, they might've done worse than anything Ezra allegedly did. He just got caught. That's one of the main reasons WB couldn't just outright condemn him for his actions because they probably did just as bad if not worse themselves as a company. They just couldn't come out and say it. It's the same thing I said when Harvey Weinstein got caught. Yeah, he was a bad man, and I'm glad he got caught. But at the same time if you seriously think he's the only man in Hollywood that did the things he was accused of doing, then you're either very naive, or you're selling something.
When you said Clockstoppers you jogged a core memory in my brain. I was obsessed w that movie for a long time after it came out. It was weird realizing just now I had forgotten about it lol
Pov: You make a two hour video about the flash and dont know the comic name of the flashes main villain. Professor zoom has always been eobard thawns villain name. The „reverse flash“ used to be a title like the „man of steel“ , „scarlet speedster“ or „clownprince of crime“.
@@Nervkeks - He probably got confused by the Arrowverse show, in which Reverse Flash and Zoom are 2 distinct characters. Reverse Flash/Eobard Thawne is only nicknamed "The man in the yellow suit" in *The Flash*, never Professor Zoom.
@@randallflagg3700 professor zoom and zoom are different characters, both also carrying the title of reverse flash. Eobard is barrys "reverse flash", Hunter is Wallys. Zoom in the arrowverse was zoom only by name, but earth3 johnny quick in character, he even had his own little crime syndicate.
Apparently the reason why the flash can swoop anyone up in his arms, and not tear through them with his speed is because of the Speedforce, and whatever kind of field it is generating, when the flash runs. A train has no such thing with his powers.
Really good video overall. It's nice to watch a video about The Flash's cinematic history and it's not just wall to wall bitching about the movie. Nor is it constant glazing of Zack Snyder with digs at James Gunn. A much welcomed change of pace. Also nice to hear someone give Andy Muschietti his due diligence and not pretend everything was his fault. Though there is one little tiny baby detail. Barbara Muschietti isn't Andy's wife, she's his older sister. 😭
I feel like both Andy and Christina agreed on this project for the same reason Taika did Love and Thunder, money They all had a previous good relation with the studios and wanted to make their own personal projects. Nobody was touching the Flash film so they were like "well, if it gets me funding to do my own work then what the hell"
Maybe you remember that JL pilot (unsuccessful) for a proposed TV show that was featured in the video? Starred David Ogden Stiers and Miguel Ferrer, despite both being actors in much demand? Why did they agree to appear in this steaming pile of 💩? Goodness knows I tried to forget it! I just googled it and didn't realise it was co written by Gardner Fox and E Nelson Bridwell! Despite retconning everything about the Justice League and being so bad, it made the Marvel TV movies (Nick Fury, Captain America, Dr. Strange) look good
This will be long winded but... it was awesome for me to learn about the backstory of the flash and all the different versions of the flash throughout time. Now onto the sad mushy shit. I'm sorry for your loss. My dad passed suddenly in Augst2018. I regret my last interaction deeply, maybe one of my biggest regrets in life so far. I wasn't with him. He died in an ambulance from a heart attack. He was an asshole with anger issues but he took care of our family, he did his best and I miss him so much. And maybe you miss your dad the way you do because it's the what if of life. I hope you take comfort in the memories you do have. Thank you for not cutting the ending, obviously it touched a lot of people ❤
Condolences to you on the loss of your father. I lost my Dad in similar circumstances 8 years ago. I had no car so I tried to literally run from the town centre to the respiratory hospital where he passed away which was 30 minutes away. If only I had the powers of The Flash! But I wasn't thinking of the Scarlett Speedster, only the reality of losing the man who raised me. I wish I could have said goodbye but ran out of breath & saw the coroner van taking him away up the road just as I got there. I still remember it like it were only yesterday. Life is not the same & there are good & bad days, but as long as they are with us in our hearts & memories they are part of us & are never truly gone ❤️ Stay strong & thanks for the excellent video.
That intro was great and reminded me of numerous occasions in the past when directors came and left The Flash film to the point where not some didn't believe it'd come out. But it was also competing with The Crow for how many times the times the project started and stopped due to directors leaving the project.
Wow. Thank you, Edward Rigby. Thank you for making the video. I appreciated your epilogue, sir. I hope you are in a better place mentally and otherwise. I will say a small prayer for you and your father. God bless.
Very interesting video, excellent ending. I was fascinated by the obscure stuff you brought up. I gotta say, Joss Whedon really doesn't deserve the blame for the Justice League movie. He did the best he could in a ridiculously challenging situation. He was the guy who saved Avengers, it made sense that he'd be the guy who try and save Justice League. He tried to correct the tone from Snyder's gritty psychopathic power fantasies and didn't nail the landing, but it was a dirty job and someone had to do it.
the weather wizard joke is that he's a black man from Chicago (The windy city) exaggerating how cold it really gets if anything the racist part is the fact he happens to be from Chicago
I really wish DC would quit assuming I love Barry. Wally West isn't just my favorite Flash, but one of my favorite characters of all time. Along with Franklin Richards, The Silver Surfer and Detective Chimp.
Wally is best flash. He and Grayson are the pinnacle of why we need sidekicks to grow up and take up their own or their mentors mantels. DC as a company hates the sidekicks who became their own heroes and I cannot understand why
You have it right on the money. I think a lot of people think Kara Danvers is just superman but female cuz of the cw show. But Kara is one badass mf with a brash attitude. She’s naive sure but she’s got a massive temper. She’s not like Clark who grew up as a baby on earth with kind parents, she’s a teenager that was frozen for years before landing on earth, aka teenage emotions run wild
What, are you talking about, Kara has always been Superman's cousin, even the new animated series shows that, anybody that thinks that Kara is a female Superman has never watched superhero shows or is from another planet themselves and not familiar with Earth's entertainment video shows. Now in the movie, it was an alternate timeline or reality and Superman aka Kal-El never arrived to Earth or was defeated, It's been a while since I watched the Flash movie, but Kara aka Supergirl was on Earth, but in that reality she had black hair instead of being blond, but she would've still been Kal-El's cousin if he had still been around in that timeline, and it's said many times in the CW show of Supergirl and The Flash that she's related to Superman and when the CW Flash show did the multiverse arc, it showed all the TV series Superman actors that played Superman on the various shows, which was really a treat for those of us familiar with the various Superman shows that have been on TV.
Such an awesome video, long time in the making! Really appreciative of the shout out at the beginning of the video and truly enjoyed it as a whole! Proud to be an Edward Rigboy. Let’s get Eddie a cameo in my next movie! If this video hits 100k views I’ll lock it the fuck in
Amazing video and a very powerful ending! Just wanted to say I as I'm sure everyone else, appreciates your vulnerability and may your father rest in peace.
I don't even like comics or DC movies but I've been watching your videos after I saw the Black Adam one; I think you have a very unique voice in all of the slop on youtube. Also the ending was very touching. Keep it up.
Your epilogue has moved me. I feel like im crazy for absolutely loving the flash movie because i would 100% do the same exact thing Barry does. I would sacrifice the rest of my life to just to spend 10 seconds with my late grandmother, just to hold her hand and tell her how great my life is because if her. Yeah, the movie doesn't look amazing. I have no idea why they didn't just use the stunt double as Barry. It's s a different timeline, Bruce Wayne is different. Or use the parent trap remake style of filming 2 Ezra Millers. I've seen the flash movie a bunch if times and i feel alone because no one else can see the vision. Like you said, there IS a heart in this movie, people focused too much on clowning on it, and it cheapened the idea of this movie.
I don't blame Flash for freaking out when he saw George Clooney's Bruce Wayne. I'd be freaking out too. I'd be like "Oh no! I got stuck in the universe with bat nipples and a bat credit card?!?" *does my best darth vader impression at the end of Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith* NOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Several months later, three things from this have stuck with me enough to pop back into my head more than once: that killer opening, that entire startlingly open monologue at the end, and the extremely racist 60s TV special. Though I should probably get it on record that I remember them for very different reasons.
I'd never heard of Takota's side of things before, but now I'm just perturbed. Why is it "believe victims" unless the victims don't play ball with the common narrative?
You have to wait until a few years out of his shadow either way..... If she were actually groomed as a minor and has been around him since, she would likely be suffering from Stockholm's Syndrome and not think any of the actions were inappropriate.......
@@phillyvoodoo Ehh, Stockholm Syndrome isn't actually real. It's kinda wild, the history behind that. What happened is that the cops horrifically bungled the "rescue" operation for the hostage crisis. So badly that the cops were shooting at the hostages. The hostages had to take over the hostage negotiations because, you know, that. Afterwards, the hostages understandably were like "yeah uhh, screw the cops, the guys holding us hostage were way more reasonable and sane on account of none of them SHOOTING AT US!" So the city hired a psychologist to label them as insane in response to legal actions taken by them. Stockholm Syndrome was thus invented by that psychologist as a coverup for why the hostages were pissed off at the cops over them larping as American cops. They didn't sympathize with the hostage takers because of some psychological phenomenon, but rather because when your choice is the government that tried to kill you to solve a hostage crisis by getting rid of the hostages or the hostage takers, yeah, you're gonna feel like you're in it with the hostage takers now since the government has decided the easiest way to deal with them is to just kill you.
@@PosthumanHeresy A vulnerable grooming target does learn to see her groomer as the hero in her life, the one person who supports and understands her. It takes a long time, sometimes years, for the victim to understand the nature of the relationship.
@@phillyvoodoo a friendly reminder that Stockholm Syndrome is heavily contested and is most likely not an actual thing. The incident that coined the term is also misused and its facts have been continuously misreported in a way that legitimize the proposed condition more than it should.
One superhero I think would be great for a live action movie is the Native American guy that was on Superfriends that could get really big. He's a superhero that they've never done a live action movie about.
Apache Chief. Mystic Native American Hero that can change size at will (like Antman surprisingly enough). I wouldnt mind seeing a serious take on the character either. Especially if they take a serious approach to the native culture.
My favorite Flash was John Wesley Shipp, in the original Flash series. His costume was almost on point, for the comics, and his personality worked for the character. One of the biggest disappointments for the Flash was in the second series, when they brought in, who we believed to be, Jay Garrick... The body type and costume were almost perfect, and then they pulled out the rug, and gave us another with a different costume... My main complaint about the Flash, on air... They never portray Barry Allen as blond, and have no idea if they would portray the original Wally West as a redhead, if they ever brought him in. They seem to be fixated on making every Flash have brown or black hair, for some reason.
James Gunn had better been contractually obligated to say that 'the Flash was one of his favourite 2023 films' give how bad it turned out, because he is a good enough writer to spot how much it betrayed the characters, and a good enough fan of comics to see how it betrayed the superhero genre.
Wow that ending. Didn’t have to go that hard but thanks for sharing. My relationship with my dad was different. He was there and the greatest father anyone could’ve asked. Now looking back I agree I would also be like Barry and try to change the past and damn the consequences because I loved him so much to not try. Probably didn’t help but not only did I buy into the overhype of the film, but also before it came out I did a binge watch of almost all of the DC movies. So when I finally went to see I did set myself up for disappointment. In retrospect I’ll say it’s an alright film that has flaws but one I liked the pros more than cons.
I like your video clip but damn the story about your father really hit me hard. I didn’t experience the same as you did but I could feel the experience you had with him and I’m sorry you had that experience. I didn’t have a big experience with my dad growing up. Yeah I seen him in the summer and I saw him when he work for public transportation because I rode the route with him. But not having him there everyday like I wanted him there did do something to me. But keep your head up homie.
I read it lol. Your videos seem pretty detailed and good to binge watch. Definitely need to subscribe. Suppose I should add that you seem pretty unique to me 10/10
You were right when we were chatting and you were streaming after your anniversary, was worth the wait and it ended with a heart felt story. Im just starting the video but this production from long ago i have to admit is more faithful than many recent thing, and it has some quirks of the time, but is kind of well done
David Goyer perfectly encapsulates the problem with Hollywood and it's been the same for decades. Execs pay the money, true, but they cannot resist interfering with those they appointed to carry out the creative process. It's like the Pope hiring Michaelangelo, then telling him his figures are too muscular, or in the wrong position..... All those directors quitting because of 'creative differences', and execs STILL don't get the message to keep their nebs out. Gene Roddenberry, on showing the pilot for Star Trek to execs, was told to 'get rid of the guy with the ears,' 😂
1:34:57 Just a quick correction, the movie isn't the first time we see the Flash phase in live action (the CW show had this beaten from season 1 way back in 2015 (S01E17 "Tricksters", where Thawne teaches Barry how to phase so he can get the wrist bomb off)

The air motion would blow everything around, but the static charge might not effect other people unless it hits them which would fricking hurt 1:51:04 Yes 1:52:07 i mean, that is basically what happened with that release Wouldnt we all though...but we only get one chance, and the faster you try to go, the faster life passes by without you seeing it. It probably came up somewhere at some point in the time previously, but there was another speedster on TV back in 1985 named Johnny B. He was as a member of the "Misfits of Science," a short-lived TV series of compiled from "reject" superheroes molded after Doom Patrol/X-Men. His character had electrical powers, but could also run at the speed of electricity... you know, when he's not traversing around in their team vehicle, an ice cream truck. Needless to say, the show didn't last long and was cancelled before the first season would have ended, though it did return in reruns on the Sci-Fi Channel in the early 90s. "Misfits of Science" was also Courteney Cox' first leading role (as a telekinetic) and one episode was co-written by future "Heroes" creator Tim Kring.

Yeah like that episode of where the flash helps the trickster because he’s mentally Ill that was a great episode
Turning on the face cam only to show yourself in the most unflattering way is such a chad move
Hollywood usually picks these depraved actors because they themselves are depraved
Damn bro really got deep on us at the end there bro had me feeling emotional for a man I never meet
Pov: You make a two hour video about the flash and dont know the comic name of the flashes main villain. Professor zoom has always been eobard thawns villain name. The „reverse flash“ used to be a title like the „man of steel“ , „scarlet speedster“ or „clownprince of crime“.
Guilty as charged 🤷♂️
You don't have to know that to make a video...
@@Гева-б6ц i wrote this coment cause he said "professor zoom was mentioned but reverse didnt exist".
I loved the CW Flash show.
But regarding JW Justice League, I think the "Just Save One" scene was the best thing in the whole movie.
The Six Million Dollar man was the first to use the time slow down effect back in the 70’s.
I feel like both Andy and Christina agreed on this project for the same reason Taika did Love and Thunder, money
They all had a previous good relation with the studios and wanted to make their own personal projects. Nobody was touching the Flash film so they were like "well, if it gets me funding to do my own work then what the hell"
I am a comic loving boomer who grew up with Batman (1966) and those Justice League specials!
Is it any wonder that we're so miserable?
Nicholas Cage against CGI. My respect for the man has increased greatly.
Awesome vid.
1:10:39 You adding the Superman theme in the background made it even more wholesome😂.
Fun fact what i heard the flash tv show was going be in the flash Movie but it was cut.
I never thought a 2 hour video on The Flash would have me crying, but here we are.
I don't even like comics or DC movies but I've been watching your videos after I saw the Black Adam one; I think you have a very unique voice in all of the slop on youtube.
Also the ending was very touching. Keep it up.
I'm still bummed they cut the famous "beating the shit out of a woman in an Icelandic Bar" part of the Flash's backstory out of all of these
Your epilogue has moved me.
45:28 "General audiences would be confused if there were two live action Batmans at the same time"
Haha, yeah, glad THAT never happened!
@@phillyvoodoo Tokata is still in Miller's shadow.
Especially if they take a serious approach to the native culture.
the very last part of this video cuts deep, brother. lost mine years back. the things I would change.
I met him at comic con
I guess the blonde Barry is from another universe, the multiverse always explains everything when we see characters looking different.
Everything else about the 90's series aside, that suit might be one of my favorite iterations of The Flash lookswise.
Fun fact, Giganta is played by a trans woman, Aleshia Brevard, 14:35
Finally a worthy fun fact
Fantastic video. That epilogue part hit me in the feels man. I wish you well. You earned a new subscriber.
11:00 they would have definitely been talking about the cold weather. Needing "heat" in Chicago has been more of a 80s and on thing.
Exactly, heat wasn’t slang for a gun yet. It’s a poverty joke. I was under the impression that, that’s a very recent slang.
Thank you for the message at the end
Great video, man. PS! It was absolutely a joke about living through winter in Chicago with no heat because you can't afford it.
Just know somewhere in the multiverse you did drive faster and made it sooner and in another you never went. You can yearn for a past you'll never have or make him proud with the man you become cheif! The future is yours as is the choice!
man my recommended does wonders sometimes. phenomenal work.
I love the dark souls music in the background
Ducktales did this in 1987 in an episode called Time Teasers.
I put this on the background and it was a fantastic listen. Great job!
Commented before reaching the end. This video deserves 2 comments. Thanks for making this.
Somehow didn't know we were so close to getting a cannibal rapist abuser Batman.
Ngl at 1:01:43 i actually was always curious about that kid's question has Superman ever fought a hippo? Like actually i wanna know

@@Edwardrabbit noooo! he has to take care of baby moo deng or else it's kryptonite laced cereal for a week
Im just starting the video but this production from long ago i have to admit is more faithful than many recent thing, and it has some quirks of the time, but is kind of well done
2:57:00 No Way. That description of your Dad hits way too close to home.
1:34:57 Just a quick correction, the movie isn't the first time we see the Flash phase in live action (the CW show had this beaten from season 1 way back in 2015 (S01E17 "Tricksters", where Thawne teaches Barry how to phase so he can get the wrist bomb off)
Bro, this was WAAAAY more extensive than i anticipated. But GODDAMN, you crushed it.
I LOVED the flash. It was fun, colorful, fun and crazy fun. I thought Keaton was the weakest link.
Love this video.
Bro, this was NOT a stupid video. You are ALIVE. WE SEE YOU. just breathe. Keep going. KEEP GOING.
WE SEE YOU.
The flashs origin is a time loop, not a paradox.
A timeloop are two events establishing/making eachother possible.
A paradox are two events negating eachother.
This is a really comprehensive video. Fun fact: 1:09:49 Barbara Muschietti is actually Andy's sister.

15:19 no no, they definitely add to the comedic effect
17:08 I believe it, he probly thought she was catwoman
26:10 teehee, im sitting here icing a bronken toe
34:10 he's literally just a normal guy idk what the problem is
1:00:14 lmaooo that little head shake and sad tv grin...he already knew
1:30:10 nah, like any "small lore to make the supernatural power appear more realistic", it only has to appear once to be set into the audience's brain for the entire time and be unimportant afterwards unless its for a funny moment or villain plot twist moment
1:33:35 that is some incredible moviemaking
1:35:35 it would have some wild effects. The air motion would blow everything around, but the static charge might not effect other people unless it hits them which would fricking hurt
1:51:04 Yes
1:52:07 i mean, that is basically what happened with that release
Wouldnt we all though...but we only get one chance, and the faster you try to go, the faster life passes by without you seeing it. You are adorable
This video has the funniest PSA of all time. It MADE me subscribe
Came to learn the on screen history of the flash, was reminded of how tragically BAD the snyder movies were
Imagine being The Flash and never receiving any update or character development in 3 decades.
I feel like this show is not talked about very often, but one of, if not my favorite Marvel show is Agent Carter. Its surprisingly good, and the time period is represented pretty well imo. Id check it out if you havent, cause its something more unique :)
I was gutted and mystified when it was cancelled. I loved it
Ezra is just as bad a mistake as Joss
Ezra from the start came across as creepy and insane even before allegations and videos of his insanity
You don't have to be an African American to understand old jokes. Just know the time period.
Can you imagine the excitement of any actor being offered the chance to wear the bid red 'S' ?
Hugs and Hugs. Sorry for your loss. I enjoyed the video in an unexpected way. I am not crying. Go Away. Be well Edward.

i just laughed and i'm actually starting to enjoy the racism
it's messed up, i should be offended but at this point i don't care ... it's become funny
that stupid 'says hello to the turkey and then leaves' joke has been living in my head for DECADES. It has been paying rent at least, but I'd still really like for it to leave!!
I want to live in the universe where David dobkin directed a flash movie.
As a black man the joke was about how cold it is in Chicago nothing racial but the character as a whole is racists
Hearing about you and your father made me think of my own son he is only 3 weeks old and I’m only recently 18 I love him with my entire being and you made me think about his future and when I die if he will think I just played with the cards I was dealt or if he thinks id rewrite the rules of the game to make sure he won if you understand the analogy I’m making I want him to know when I die that he means the world to me and not to think for a second that he disappointed me in any way but for now he is too young so I rolled over and gave him a nose to nose hug…
I'm sorry to hear about your dad, bro. I'm sure he's looking over you and knows how you feel.
Man of steel, Batman v Superman, Justice League were incredible ❤
That's the beauty of cinema, of art. It's a crappy ugly movie, but brought something so meaningful, so powerful from you. Thanks for sharing your story and for reminding us what art is really about.
