Never met the man in my life, but you can just tell he’s just a lovely, warm-hearted person. How in the world has he managed to keep those long, flowing locks?!
I grew up in Birmingham whilst all those bands rose up. Bizarre but it just seemed normal, only now do I realise what an extraordinary time it was.
Extraordinary indeed. And verifiably so!
Bev's drumming on Walk upon the water is phenomenal.
I love Bev Bevan. Huge part of my life. Great interview.
I was really happy when Bev responded to my FB message :) Made my day! Bev was lucky to be a part of the Best Band ELO.
Terrific drummer/Arranger.
Truth.
Greg pulls out new stuff about Hendrix!!! Greg is the best music interviewer out there...
Thanks Andy. The vibe always seems to get us somewhere, eh???
You did it again Mr Bendian! And what a great guy Bev Bevan is.👍👍👍👍❤❤❤❤
Drifter - I appreciate your encouragement. Glad you drifted this way.
Thank you Bev for all the music 🎶
Bev is The man.
@@TheProgCast I was so excited when I received his signed book for Christmas all those years ago.
I went to a gig on the first elo tour , Hornsey town hall London June 1972 .
Lucky bastard.😆
Thankyou bev...elo started when i was born...im still listening.
Me too!
Thank you Mr Bev Bevan.
Fascinating interview. Thanks, guys.
Bev is the best.
Great interview. 👍
Thanks for watching.
On the Third Day is always listened to start to finish. The first in a string of perfect albums.
Great interview!!
Hi, I'm a drummer too. I started playing drums in 1982, 40 years ago. (I am also a live sound engineer - F.O.H.).
Mr. Bev Bevan is my biggest, main and maximum influence, my idol since always.
I am a super crazy fan (and collector) of ELO (and related) since 1980, when I discovered Bevan and ELO.
The biggest dream of my life is to be able to meet Bevan sometime.
My way of playing drums is very similar to his because he has influenced me the most.
I really like to play like him, like his style.
I would give anything to be able to meet him and talk to him sometime. he is my idol.
Thank you for the interview. Greetings from Spain.
Absolutely an amazing interview. Just two guys hanging out reminiscing about Bevs amazing career. So touching, So great!! I really appreciate this interview.
Bev is such a great guy
What a nice interview. I was just listening to Fire On High and realised how strong the drumming was.
I love Bev! ❤❤❤❤
Bev, It's Really Great to Hear from You in this interview with Greg. Yes Bev Many Thanks for All The Music. I was born in 1964 & I grew up listening to The MOVE & Then ELO on The Radio almost every day with my Dad. So Once again Bev Many Thanks to You for The Music!
And for The Years That You Kept ELO (Pt.2) Alive! Also Greg Many Thanks for Your Brilliant Interviews.
I too am a self taught drummer. In fact I credit Bev, as my first drum instuctor. Ifell in love with ELO, in the summer of '78, when I first heard "Turn To Stone" at 10 years old. By 1981, I had my kit, and started covering ELO first. I chased that "fat" snare sound for years. My 3 favorite drummers are Bev Bevan, Jeff Porcaro, and Phil Collins, in no order, as they're all #1 with me, for different reasons
With you all the way! Thanks for watching.
I'm not surprised you chased that 'fat' sound for years; itwas a result of double tracking!
My 3 favorite are same as yours except for Phil Collins. Porcaro was the man, hands down. My third favorite would have to be the late, great Charlie Watts.
I like interviewers who let the guest fully answer the question and talk, without interrupting them.
Enjoyed this a lot. Thanks
Hearing Bev talk about all those places to play, makes me sad that it seems to have passed, along with so much other good stuff.
Can what happened to Bev happen in current times? I doubt it. Bands were made on the road, on the touring circuit. Do such circuits exist today? By comparison, hardly at all. GREAT interview by the way
Truth. Thanks for watching Progdog
Great to hear Bev Bevan talking about his career in music. I loved listening to Bev drumming in ELO, all the way back to the 1970s. :-) I have all the ELO albums from ELO 1 all through to Time and Discovery.
Good interview. Not like Bev to forget tracks on OOTD after the big build up!
He lived it. He isn't required to remember it all. Thanks for watching!
Ha....I was born in '63 & had an Uncle Dave as well 😜
Great interview > saw ELO twice > 1st time was The Classic Out of The Blue Tour & was fortunate to catch the Show on a night when the Spaceship worked (Oakland) ...wadda absolute Bucket List Show that was.
2nd time was yrs later sans Jeff > think it was called ELO Again > much smaller venue ...a Dinner Show up at Konachti Harbor about a 90 min drive North of Oakland > that too was a Stellar Show....but of course not the Bucket Lister Out of The Blue was.
Love hearing from Others in the Band....great stuff Gregg👍 > def subbed...guess the algorithm gods finally thought it was time for me find Your channel.
& Bev...if you're reading comments here ....thanks Brother for being a most influential part of my Formative yrs Soundtrack🙏 > Ageless music that has definitely stood the test of time.
Thank you for this Gregg! Always smart and interesting interviews.
Thank you, kind sir.
I have been saying it for years, no Bev, no ELO .
Well, it is something for fans to ponder seriously.
Wow, what a cool Hendrix story.
Like the bruford shade:"was he in gentle giant?". Makes me want to know the story.
Band AND audience getting cut by glass, and rolling with it. Insanity!
I'm kind of with you on that that's when I ended the video.😂😂😂
Props to Bev for marrying a woman close to his age, and not someone many decades his junior.
Bev has aged well. Looks like a man in his 50's not in his 70's.
he looks 20 years younger.
Omg, you guys are both wrong about Floyd’s music.
Thanks Greg another cool interview.
Thanks for watching Gary!
