    I took chemical engineering and finished 24 years ago. I am amazed that you did not mentioned courses in financial as I did courses in Accounting and Economic decision making. If you design a plant you have to cost it in term of capital in building it and the amount of money it cost to run it. You also did not mentioned about process safety where you had to consider all aspects of safety. I also did courses in powder technology that involved unit operations dealing with solids such as mixing powders etc ( after all most problems in dealing with chemical plants are those dealing with solids).;It seems your course was more limited.

    I'm at the end of my 3rd year in ChemE (at my university it's out of 5 years w/ basically 1 year of 2 Co-Op blocks) It's always interesting to hear the similar and different courses other peeps take. I'm looking to do my second Co-Op in Oil and Gas next year (any tips/ advice is appreciated!) Thanks for sharing your experience w/ this awesome video! :D

    I think it’s easier to transition if you done AP/Dual Enrollment and did summer classes before hand

    • @LaurenBoyne
      @LaurenBoyne  2 роки тому

      Definitely would agree! I unfortunately did not take any AP/summer classes so it took a bit to catch up!

    I have a question: Is chemical engineering hard or easy to study? I live in Germany and after my TSLC ( in German it's called Fachabitur) I would like to study this.

    • @LaurenBoyne
      @LaurenBoyne  3 роки тому

      I would say it's definitely challenging for sure but not too too hard if you manage your time and have a good work ethic!

    Just wondering, do you guys in your country undergo a licensure examination after getting that degree?

    • @LaurenBoyne
      @LaurenBoyne  3 роки тому +2

      Yes they do! To get your P.Eng designation you have to work in industry for a certain number of years and then write a test!

      I personally didn't find it too challenging but it definitely takes a bit to grasp the concepts so maybe a 6

      Hey, I'm currently studying chemical engineering. I am on my 2nd year.
      I'm going to be honest with you, the only time you'll have for yourself is probably the weekends if you're lucky. Note the gym and campus is right next to each other and 2miles from home, so I want to make my day work:
      04:50 - Jog to the gym
      06:40 - Jog home
      06:50 - Take a quick shower, get ready
      07:10 - Go to campus on my skateboard
      07:30 to 17:45 - Attend classes
      17:45 - Return home
      18:05 to 20:00 - Complete homework assignments and tests if there are any
      20:00 - Eat and shower (I watch some videos while doing that)
      And sometimes I chill until 22:00 and then go to bed.
