So, I took a job as an RA (fell in love with this job), reduced my credit load and decided to graduate in 5 years instead of the 4 year window promoted by my university, and focused on being a person as well. All that to say, I'm pretty happy with my 3.3 GPA all things considered. And lastly, it is definitely possible to achieve the grades that Tamer did first try, and if I went back and retook a number of my classes, I am certain I would ace many of them. But that's the point I was trying to make to you all here: at what cost. I am thankful that I can say that I woke up most days and was able to still smell the roses through it all. Ur system education seems to be easy than us, I can say that during my first two years in preparatory classes before even entering to an engineering shcool, we studied much courses about different concepts in mathematics and physics and which were very advanced. U can image any course u have taken. The system was very tough, we study 9hours per day and many subjects (Maths, Physics, Computer science, Engineering technologies, philosophic languages, traduction). All that in order to pass a national exam in the last 2 years in order to choose your engineering field and the school u want to study in.
I don't know why but I'm an ME student but i hate mathsss 😭😭😭 i failed once but i was able to redeem it last semester. I'm at my 3rd year now i hope i can survive this. Im a 3rd year Automotive Engineering student and barely surviving. Any Advice? Im Not that good at mathematics, but i sure do like the designing etc Autocad/Solidworks
Get good at math. In all seriousness, get good at anything you're struggling at which would put you at a disadvantage in the future. Time is the key here. Using your details; f you're great at design, maybe spend more time practicing math. I know you're probably asking Tamer but here ya go.
Why is it so much easier to be an mechanical engineer in usa then in eastern countries like dude this is nothing we have your 1 and 2 year in our 1 year which is crazy
I've been watching a lot of your video's and I've been wondering, how good were you at math, physics, and chemistry in high school? Most of the courses you took in your 1st year are pretty much just high school concepts that you've already learned, but just that the problems are a lot harder. How much work did you put in high school compared to your university? Were you just an average student or were you at the top of your class?
You basically need to be top of your class in high school to make it into UofWaterloo engineering to begin with…and his University grades are on the high end
I would have loved degree like yours. Mine (also in mech eng) resembled more an industrial one where especial emphasis was made in management, hydraulics(not the cool ones) and HVAC.
I resent engineers because I graduated with a 4.0 GPA and a master’s degree in mechanical engineering but I can’t get an engineering job due to “poor communication skills”.

hey Tamer i got another question!! do you take super notes daily? or do you sum up your notes like at the end of the week? also how big are the notebooks u like?(pages)
For the memorization type courses, I make super notes at the end of the week, usually Friday evenings. My super notes notebook where usually between 80-120 pages. However, the notebooks I used to solve world problems was like 200-250 pages.
@@TamerShaheen thanks for all the help man!! your really inspiring!! also a solid idea for ya! you should make a video talking about all the supplies you recommend for an engineering student!
I really want to be a mechanical engineer but I don't want to be an engineer that makes product and build things just like that ,I want to go big like build and designing engines and systems for some type of transportation's we use in life but in order to do that after university I need to be in an internship and start on small projects and go my way up from that but I want is big my dream is just one day I will build the world longest and biggest train I the world. my train will be long and be so luxurious but I known people are going to laugh at me but I won't let anyone intimidate me cause I have a big dream literally a big dream I just know if I work hard and dedicate my life, just probably one day I will make my dream true 😶
That’s an awesome dream and u should work towards it. Usually, as an engineer, u don’t work on one big, complex system on ur own. For example, if ur working on an engine, u will really only design and build a component of it...not the whole thing.
What a scam, here in Argentina we don´t have that many subjects, we have less of them but with much more content. I wish i could study in the US, it is nothing compared to how difficult it is here.
I guess the grading is very different in different countries. In my first year (in England), I finished 11th in my class with a 69% average - I don't think anyone averaged over 80%. And our courses seem to be much more intensive (I graduated with a Master's after 4 years, whereas this guy got a Bachelor's after 5 years).
That was really nice, but I would have chosen at least 2 courses related to aerospace and aeronautic engineering, thankfully mechanical engineering has so many opportunities.
ME and EE make use of a lot of the same math (calculus, probability, statistics, linear algebra, differential equations, Fourier analysis, complex analysis, etc.). You'll see math in just about everything, such as designing mechanical pieces, describing the paths of motion of mechanisms, points of tension and compression in joints, fixtures, describing vibrations, fluids, the dynamics of heating/cooling systems, etc. There is nothing in any branch of engineering which is entirely free from mathematics. The good thing is that there are lots of tables of formulas and programs that you can use to check your work. The bad thing is that you'll often have to check all the calculations by hand in order to know whether you're using the formulas properly. On rare occasions, you might have to code small programs to automate certain tedious computation processes.
Heyyy please tell me ...I am great at mathematics but hate science and can't draw. Can I still do engineering? My other option is financial engineering which isn't really the same thing
Just wanted to ask, if I am getting a 97 in high school, what approximate grade average can I expect in university? Is it still possible to have a 95+ avg in university?
I got one big problem right now I am not very good at math however I am really good at building and science and started recently using CAD at schooling at home my high school is a stem school but it has academies based on a proffession your schedule has like lots of science classes your academy is the health profession if you have lots of art classes like ,digital design, photography, architecture,or construction your academy is the design academy and business, marketing,or finance is your is the business academy ,and you are a freshman then you are in the freshman academy mostly I am struggling on finding a university right for me right now I have an eye for Vanderbilt university
When choosing ur university, try to go with something that has the program u want and can help u land internships and jobs. It sounds ur into engineering, so to get better at math...do A LOT of practice questions.
@@TamerShaheen thank I think about that I know math the thing is that probability and statistics is the only part of math I don’t get it s my third years of doing that no matter how many practice questions I do I still do get it’s just sad but I am good at some areas than others
Bro when are you going to make the top 10 degrees to get if you don’t know what to major in? This has taken you really long to make it, please make it?
I just did all the practice questions and problem sets for that course. Then, the exam happened to be similar to those questions and I ended up doing well on the midterm.

@@TamerShaheen online school kinda saved me to be frank. Idk if exams would've been easier offline, but I passed some units I never would've passed offline otherwise
oohhhh the dreaded dynamics, i have nightmares as well whenever i remember it lol
thanks for the video! your videos have been pretty nice to watch. though, i would like to ask what your "love and friendship" course was about... it sounds unique
We pass 8 hours in maths exam and physics exam
Could you make a video talking about your personal projects or ideas for personal projects??
Ok sure, I’ll look into that
I don't know why but I'm an ME student but i hate mathsss 😭😭😭 i failed once but i was able to redeem it last semester. I'm at my 3rd year now i hope i can survive this. Calculus is my nightmare i have problems understanding problems but with enough time i get it, and mostly when i finally understood the topic the exams are over lol
@@user-ej7ss8ei2g appreciate it😁
Why is it so much easier to be an mechanical engineer in usa then in eastern countries like dude this is nothing we have your 1 and 2 year in our 1 year which is crazy
Wholesome
Struggled for a B in calc 2 after our series unit. Calc 3 seems a lot more promising to me tho and I still love the subject!
im on series rn rip
I've been watching a lot of your video's and I've been wondering, how good were you at math, physics, and chemistry in high school? Most of the courses you took in your 1st year are pretty much just high school concepts that you've already learned, but just that the problems are a lot harder. How much work did you put in high school compared to your university? Were you just an average student or were you at the top of your class?
You basically need to be top of your class in high school to make it into UofWaterloo engineering to begin with…and his University grades are on the high end
I never had calculus in high school. How can I learn to understand it to get good at it?
I would have loved degree like yours. Mine (also in mech eng) resembled more an industrial one where especial emphasis was made in management, hydraulics(not the cool ones) and HVAC.
I resent engineers because I graduated with a 4.0 GPA and a master’s degree in mechanical engineering but I can’t get an engineering job due to “poor communication skills”.
you graduated from Canada?
@@raiyanarahman9968 USA
@@BimmerWon are you international? did yoi get a job now?
@@raiyanarahman9968 actually yes. I just finished up my second week working as a Manufacturing Engineer. Took me two years after graduating to get this job.
@@raiyanarahman9968 not international btw. Born and raised in the USA and my job is in the USA
Ehhhh🙆🙆🙆ya nehh, I'm an electrical studentmuself but I'm really really struggling I'm doing my second year I saw your on time management, I'll implement it I believe it'll work for me as well
Howzit man
I assume you are from SA (the ya nehh gave it away 🤣)
How has electrical engineering been for you?
I'm doing electrical engineering next year and I would like to know how it went for you
Amazing vid.But we’re you keen on becoming a software engineer?
You must have been very hard working.
I tried my best haha, thanks 😅
Hello Tamer! I went over this video since I am about to select my 4th year technical electives in TRON. I have noticed that your4th year courses were not selected in the same specialization (ex: thermal, fluids, automation, solid mechanics, welding,...). Is there any particular reason why you chose to do so? Didn't you have any interest in specializing in one area? thanks!
Just finished dynamics this semester. It’s def tough.
Dynamics was a FUCKING nightmare had to put so much work into it. As long as the rest isnt that bad itll be a cakewalk
Tamer bro im still in grade 10 but I hope to take mechanical eng after school and hopefully I dont regret it😂I've always wanted to do stem tho so we'll see
Tamer gonna hit a million at this point
HAHA I hope one day 😅
hey Tamer i got another question!! do you take super notes daily? or do you sum up your notes like at the end of the week? also how big are the notebooks u like?(pages)
I think bro likes calculus
I think he absolutely loves Calculus. Probably because it just makes so much sense to him.
guys if someone is still reading comments what r some high paying jobs a mechanical engineering degree get? can someone pls tell me tysm in advance.
Can u make a video detailing your coop experiences
Sure...do u have any specific questions?
@@TamerShaheen how do you get your first coop job, and tips for prepping for it
What a scam, here in Argentina we don´t have that many subjects, we have less of them but with much more content.
Damn that’s interesting…thanks for sharing :)
Cool video man btw whats ur cgpa?
It says at the end of my transcript in the video. It was 86.86% tho
what helped you the most at getting good at calculus.
That was really nice, but I would have chosen at least 2 courses related to aerospace and aeronautic engineering, thankfully mechanical engineering has so many opportunities.
I didn’t have the option to choose my courses in my first three years of engineering 😅
@@TamerShaheen np np
In my freshman, sophomore and junior i was betwen 2.7 and 3.3. But in senior i boosted my gpa 3.8 i studied every day and focused so much.
can you make a list of textbooks and online lectures to learn mechanical engineer at homw, with lab projects list?
Does this branch have alot of maths like electrical engineering and which subjects were the most maths heavy ?
Could you perhaps do a video on how to make Math and physics notes and understand the specifically?
Yea for sure
10:05 that’s wild
I'm gonna get everything 200% and colonize pluto for my university project.
Heyyy please tell me ...I am great at mathematics but hate science and can't draw. Can I still do engineering?
My other option is financial engineering which isn't really the same thing
Bro you are too smart, did you study and work?
Just wanted to ask, if I am getting a 97 in high school, what approximate grade average can I expect in university? Is it still possible to have a 95+ avg in university?
Where is your partial differential equations course
did u take statics i thought that was one class that all meche's had to take or is it a class with a different name in waterloo
Im inspired!
😊😊
Bro when are you going to make the top 10 degrees to get if you don’t know what to major in? This has taken you really long to make it, please make it?
Sure, I’ll make one as soon as I can
Did you also have a part time job in college or did you work exclusively summer internships?
Dynamics is going to kill me I guess 😭😂
Great video, I have a question do you think I should take statistics in high school. I want to take engineering, I want to take biomedical engineering
You guys don't take physics waves and fields or mechanical vibrations?
5:44 how do you really deal with these kinds of profs 😭
uhm ehe
in my univ portal, you're gonna see bloody crosses lmao
How did you get 100 on the midterm , that course is hard
I just did all the practice questions and problem sets for that course. Then, the exam happened to be similar to those questions and I ended up doing well on the midterm.
@@TamerShaheen can you make a vid on textbooks because due to virtual classes textbooks are being neglected, maybe on how to study without a textbook/ importance of a textbook
Yo, how many hours did you sleep for a day? How can you have a good score in all of lecture subjects ?
Around 8 hours and usually just good time management
