Out here in Commiefornia $4.60 a gallon...plus u need a suppository after every fill-up...preferably PREP-H BRAND...but due to lack-o-funds...GENERIC!!!!!
I didn't have much luck with a single 16" fan and no shroud ...went to dual 12 " with a shroud and what a difference. Neaten up those plug wires some Mr H...making my OCD flare up !
I just put this exact same Champion radiator and Spal 16" fan in my 58 Apache this week. Only difference, I used a Champion shroud with it. With the shroud, you can bypass the ziptie things and use 1/4"x20 nut and bolts through the shroud. So far, so good.
FYI I put a flat sroud over the radiator so the fan will pull more area in the surcomepass of the fan blades . Also I fount out its better to have two small fans than one , I had one of two fans fail on a long cruise and was able to limp it back home and purchased two more little fans , just saying. God bless yall real good.
We're paying 5.64 CAD$ for a US gallon of gas up here in Central Ontario. We pay by the litre so it doesn't sound like as much. Nice job on the rad. Looks good and I'm sure it will do a much better job. Be safe and stay well.
If the single doesn't cut the mustard, use Spal Dual 11" fans. Dang near fit every old vehicle i've put them on like a glove. Being a dual setup, clears the waterpump beautifully.
That is a nice 57 Chevy!! Is it yours? Also I like that I got a good look at the face that goes with that Mr. Hevyshevy voice. Love that nothing seems to rattle you. My new motto is going to be “ well that’s not what I wanted to do but it’s what I done!” Love that Mr Hevyshevy quote!
I just replaced the radiator in my car after 8 years. I had mounted a flexalite fan using those through core plastic mount things. They loosened up a little and wore a hole through the radiator.
This is going to sound like I'm criticizing, but I have to ask: Are you sure you have enough room between the fan and the water pump pulley for the bumps in the road the truck will encounter?
Thanks for all the videos today! Gas is 5.00 a gallon in northern California where I live ! No good 😕!!!
One hour job taking almost all day… story of my life!
Nice work making that fit… should keep her a good bit cooler!

You need a shroud for the fan to work well
Spal fans are great fans. I just put one on my atv, moves loads of air.
That's like the radiator I have in the Buick. So far it keeps it pretty cool

It’s tight. But so far it’s ok.
