After the Annual in the Aerostar 702P

- Welcome to my channel! Today, I'm excited to take you on a journey as I fly my Aerostar 702P from Renton (KRNT) to Paine Field (KPAE) after completing the 2023 annual inspection. But before we take off, I want to discuss an important concept in aviation called Condition Bias.
Condition Bias is a cognitive bias that can affect pilots when they become overly focused on the condition of their aircraft, to the point where they may overlook other important factors that could affect the safety of the flight. For example, a pilot may become fixated on a particular system or component of the aircraft, such as the engine or landing gear, and fail to notice other factors that could impact the flight, such as weather conditions or air traffic.
As pilots, it's important to be aware of Condition Bias and take steps to mitigate its effects. This includes conducting a thorough pre-flight inspection, staying vigilant throughout the flight, and maintaining situational awareness at all times.
So, with that in mind, let's hop into the cockpit and take to the skies as we explore the beautiful Pacific Northwest in my Aerostar 702P.

Thanks Eric. Good of you to take us along for the ride :)
I want one of those, so bad
Another great video Eric
A really short and extremely busy IFR hop across town with storm cells for added flavor!
Thats the best cockpit perspective i have seen. Great video
Thanks.
Hi Eric. Have been putting some thought into potentially buying an Aerostar, was wondering if you are willing to be open enough to share your average hourly cost of flying the beautiful aircraft! Thanks!
I can help. email me at emreese@comcast.net. We will set up a time to talk on the phone.
Have you ever referred to it as the Platypus on ATC? also at United pre engine start we always had the rotating beacon to warn ground crew.
Platypus??? Why would I refer to a Aerostar to as a Platypus? Beacon is always on at start. you cant see the switch being hidden by the iPad. I leave the beacon or nav lights on when I shut down as well. That way I can look back at the plane and see that the master is off. Lights off, master must be off.
@@AerostarPilot "it" referred to your ref joke of the Pilatus. Just wondered if that ever slipped out on live ATC. I imagine it has. SO much for jokes. I never could deliver a punchline. just forgeddaboudit
Hey Eric do you take people up even if they have their multi?
Not sure I understand the question. I do not do any primary MEL training. The training I do is for initial and recurrent training in the clients own aircraft.
