    I love pickled herring; either marinated in just vinegar, sugar and onions or the more fancy methods using sour-cream with dill or beets.

    Salt herrig with ryebread with saltypicle and littlebit onions and smoky cheese with salty fishegg spread is god tier of hangover snack

    we had it for our dinner tonight.. simmered in canola oil, spices, carrots and cucumber..we just loved it!

    The fjords are full of herring where i live.
    Now I gonna try cookt, salted, pickled, dried, smoked, boild and more!!!!!!

    I fish a lot bigger fish, but herring we uses for bait..!👍

    In Holland we salt them, wait for them to turn bad and eat them raw! With pickles and onions. Just grab them bij the tail and bite them while hanging them above your head! That's how you eat a herring! :)

    If you put the hot brine onto the fish into the jar like that, it starts cooking the herring. I tried it and the herring came out disgustingly mushy. Also, why sugar?

    Thank you, I need to eat more herring , It's a better fish for my health. I just can't have it smoked in a tin all the time. No matter how much I love it that way .

    Herrings are delicious , I eat them smoked , and raw with some chopped onions the Dutch way .

    sorry FHKWC that is not the recht way whe do it in holland you cut to much of by the head and we leave the tail on and we do not cut them all the way tro
