That's pretty good. The feel just jumps out of the screen and into the room. Nice bass idea. Similar to a dead thumb in the delta blues. Works real nice.
Interesting. When I listen to Leroy Carr do How Long, it seems like he has a driving boogie in there. I like your groove. I think if Robert Johnson played piano he would play it like you did. Or that's what I hear. It's all beautiful!
Hallo Ethan, ich bin begeistert wie Du diesen Blues spielst, Einmalig. Hast Du mir ev. die Noten, ich habe sie nur in F, hätte sie aber gerne in Es. Vielleicht kannst Du mir helfen. FG Bruno aus der Schweiz
Thank you Billy ! The How Long Blues has been my favorite Blues since I first heard it with Count Basie and Jimmy Rushing about half a century ago. But here is another version of it which is dear to my heart. ua-cam.com/video/ceVeuTiCnZ0/v-deo.html
Thanks for listening, Laszlo! I'm with you when it comes to loving this song. It just may be the most beautiful blues melody ever written. And thanks for sharing Luca's version! I've been a huge fan of his for many years!
I discovered Luca on the Internet when he played his first numbers at age 12. Went to see him in Germany in 2009 and we became close friends. I organized many concerts with him in Germany, Austria Italy and here in Florida where I introduced him to American audiences for the first time. His new CD is in the works, should be available in the near future. Thanks for keeping this music alive! Best of luck to you!

Those bass rhythms were super prevalent in the early urban blues of the mid-west!
