Hello, Sir! This is your dancing partner from El Segundo, CA. 💃 Thank you for always recognizing our service members. My son leaves for the Army on Sunday. My heart is heavy, and proud at the same time.
As a Mexican in Mexico I approve of this salsa. I would skip the honey, but a bit of localized flavor is a good thing, it promotes creation of new flavors.
@@CowboyKentRollins I would use the honey , BUT, what I was told by a beekeeper was that for cooking, you should use the darkest honey you could find. He had some Cotton honey that was pitch black and was perfect on steel cut oatmeal. He uses it for BBQ sauces also. The darker the honey, the stronger the flavor. Use the lighter colored honey is for sweetening tea or something like that.
I enjoy your program more than i have words to express , Back in the late 50ties and early 60ties my Twin Siste Was the RCA World Champion Barol Racer. I sirved in Vietnam 62 through 66 and I always appreciate your mentioning Vet's , I enjoy your Recipes and love eating the food you fix , Thanks
Hey Kent. 2nd Marine Battalion, unit 308. Just in from a mission somewhere in the Middle East and your videos are great way to decompress. Thanks for what you do
The garden salsa is something that I could eat all day every day. As a child, we used to pour some over eggs for breakfast (along with some bacon or sausage and some potatoes).
I really appreciate your commitment to our military. I’m very proud of my son who has enlisted in the Navy. Thank you for all of your wonderful, recipes and videos.
I love home made salsa, I'll have to try these recipes. I really love your campfire cooking and story's. I have a lil story, way back when I was younger my husband and I planted a garden. Everything was growing good and sprouting except for my tomatoes. My mom and dad were visiting one day, they looked at my garden and my dad said, you need to get a good switch and give those tomatoes a good switching, I started laughing. He said I'm serious, their not getting the sap they need. So I found a pretty good switch and switched them. 3 rows of non bearing tomatoes. By the next week they had blooms 😮. Those tomatoes started coming out and made big beautiful tomatoes. Of course I called my dad and he was over picking tomatoes for him and mama. Have y'all ever heard of that? It works!!! Thank you for sharing as always 😊
Kent, okra's delicious and good. They're great when they're both pickled mild or hot and breaded and fried. You take okra when they're sliced and season them and coat them in flour and fry them. 2 different ways of frying them. Okras great with corn, tomatoes, bell peppers. It's called Succatashe. Nothing better than fresh salsa Fresca I tell you. 😋
I watched your cooking and of course you since you did that bbq outside competition on Food Network years and years ago. It was your debut on Food Network doing that competition. You are a wonderful cook and a joy to watch and listen too. Thank you for sharing your world with us and look forward to many more years to come.
I am a war veteran and I thank you for your wonderful recipes and your recognition of our countries service members. I enjoy your videos and every time I use your recipes they turn out delicious. Keep up the great work!
I grew up eating home grown tomatoes, and there's no better tomato than one you grew yourself, and ripened on the vine. I fondly remember bringing home bacon from the meat market i worked at, a fresh picked tomato, and fresh picked loose leaf lettuce. Even on plain toasted wonder bread, made the best doggone BLT you ever ate.
Thank you. When we can our salsa, we take the extra juices (like you poured off) and can them also. We call it "Dirty Tomato Juice", then add a jar to out chili or vegetable soup. God Bless and stay safe.
I'm with Cletus on adding the Serrano ! --- All your recipes make my mouth water but I almost needed a bib while watching this one. Oh my that looks good.
Hello my friend! :D I've been trying to find a super simple salsa recipe and this video provided it, thanks! :D God bless you and your wonderful family. Have an awesome day my fabulous friend! :D
Thank YOU Kent! That second salsa will be my go to. My mouth is STILL watering. Also thanks for the great tip of draining the salsa. I would never have thought of that. You are an amazing gella to take the time and working in the crazy hot temperatures! Thanks again! 🎉🌶🌶🌶🧄🧄
All of my dogs, through the years, loved tomatoes, especially cherry tomatoes. I had one pit bull (I've only had pits), when I was a kid, who cleared herself a spot in the garden so she could lay down and pluck tomatoes off the vine and eat them. My father couldn't understand why his giant beefsteak tomatoes were disappearing until we actually watched her do it one day. She'd even hold down the plant to get at the ones she couldn't reach. Cherry tomatoes never stood a chance. She was a tomato addict.
Love to listen to you put all the ingredients together. And the pups....what can I say...stars of the show. But without Shan's tremendous camera work...we'd be lost. It really is great filming. Thanks for showing us some good recipes from the garden. Jesus bless.
One of the things I miss most about living in Texas was some of the salsa. Now I’ve been looking for that missing ingredient from my salsa to match some of my Texas favorites, and so I am gonna try your ancho chilies. It’s got the look of what I remember. I’m keepin the extra Serrano in mine. Thank you Kent!
oh yes, nothing better than a fresh, COLD salsa to enjoy on these hot days! Hits the spot on all kinds of things! Great idea and job Kent! keep em' coming!🤠🍅
I've started making my own recently, i love to use a heirloom yellow big tomato and grill yellow onion, roasted garlic, grill peppers also. Doesn't take much else other than maybe cilantro and a little lime but not necessary. It's whatever u have. Awesome video as always 🙏 keep cooking
Thanks so very much Mr Kent, Miss Shannon, and the disgruntled (today only) taste testers. Y'all brighten my day and bring yummy foods to the kitchen. I enjoy watching you cook! Thanks for braving the heat.
Both of those recipes will also make an excellent spaghetti sauce. In those cases, don't drain the tomatos. Use all the juice and make a puree. Add cornstarch if needed for the spaghetti sauce.
For a saucy salsa, I love using mesquite smoked tomatoes!! I just pop some tomatoes in the smoker when I'm running something else, and some jalapenos because chipotle!
Oh thank you for doing these recipes because I've got maters on the grow (my dog will steal a mater in a flash) and I've got A LOT of hot peppers and green peppers from last year in the freezer!!
Hey Kent and Shannon. I was making salsa and was just about done, when I saw your video, I thought that was kinda funny. But why I'm making a comment is this. I made some salsa the other day, with my homegrown Cherokee Purple tomatoes, and YES it turned out to be very watery. And I came up with a great solution, I added instant potato flacks to it. It worked great. If no one knew it had potatoes in it, they would never know. Love you guys!!
Between the heat, rats and raccoons (south Texas), we literally harvested zero large tomatoes this year after a bountiful season last year. But I still want to make and can fresh salsa. Hopefully I can still use your recipe with store bought tomatoes. Even my peppers, although flowering, are not producing fruit. Thank you so much for sharing!
I don't know if the weather people were exaggerating a few days ago, but they said that it was 130 degrees in the American southwest! I have no relatives or friends in the whole area, but I was worried for you two and the puppies. Glad to see you're all OK and your garden is doing great! Have to try both salsas - and I love a little extra heat, so I'll add more jalapenos and green chilis. I think Xochil tortilla chips are the best tasting tortilla chips I ever bought, but I wouldn't recommend them for salsa dipping - they break so easily.
Looks delicious! I’ll have to make me some with my garden produce! Tomato plants LOVE old used coffee grinds scattered around the base of the plant. Free fertilizer booster!
I luvs me some salsa and am glad for all the tips.😀 Yes please garden fresh tomato recipés. My beefsteaks are coming along fine and my cherry tomatoes are too.
a simple way to get rid of squash bugs or potato buds I heard was take a thin board like a long paint stirring stick and cover one end with axle grease and poke it in the ground near your plants deep enough so it dont tip over and the bugs with migrate to the grease and stick to it. They stay off your plants then
Thanks for the video that shows me just how lazy I am to be always be buying this in a jar to serve my guests. I am a little surprised that you didn't find a way to include some bacon or steak. Also great to hear you will have a Sunday video again this week I've missed them.
We’ve never had a store bought so called fresh tomato that tasted good. I got 12 plants for a family of two… we donate a lot lol . If you want a flavor boost char those jalapeño on a fire. Skins slip off easy. Throw in the blender. Heck you can even char the tomatoes. If fresh tomatoes aren’t available canned, yes canned make good salsas because they are actually picked at the ripeness peak. All those in stores are green tomatoes with a red color. You all are deep in the heat.
Mr Kent, Milton here from a Southeastern NC. Now I bout 20 or so years ago started with Bush’s Black Beans salsa off the can. And over the years, like you I have cowboyed this up a couple of notches - well a bunch! Now I have been studying on this, my next batch I am going to make the second salsa you have here and swap out the Kraft Zesty Italian dressing. (never considered putting honey in my salsa, give that a try too). 16 hours latter, hey to Mrs Shannon.
Great video Mr. Kent! I love your recipes. Love how you love cooking and share with your dogs! As a veteran I especially appreciate how you always thank all our service members at the end of each video. You’re a class act sir. That hat you’re wearing is top notch!! Doubt I can afford one but please let me know how I can find one just exactly like that one. God Bless you sir.
I always look forward to your videos. You have taught me so many excellent recipes. I can't wait to try these salsas out. Keep doing what you all do. Thank you.
You are the true definition of an American. No racism, full of joy and loving the job he does.
Ty for everything.
*How does Cowboy Kent dance? He does the Salsa. 🤠🤭*
Super Dad (mom) joke.
😂😉
If he makes a mango salsa, does he do the mango tango?
😂😂😂
THAT'S HILARIOUS 😂
I'm actually SO envious of those tomatoes, I can practically smell them through the screen.

"These tomatoes have 397.68% more juice in 'em" -HAAH! Love that.

Mr. Rollins, I enjoy your sense of humor and your videos. I’m a over the road truck driver and I have been using some of your recipes on the road
Any thing home made is way better, healthier for in the very long run! Thank you Mr. Kent.😊
Kent, thank you for keeping God in the forefront of all your videos. You are a true man of God. May he continue to bless you and Shannon.
Wow, I really like the second one and, great suggestion on draining it a bit because I do like a thicker salsa.
Ya'll are precious! God bless you two.

Thank for sharing your homemade salsa with us.

Love going out to the garden and getting fresh for the salsa

Thank you for the recipe! And just a sidenote for you gardeners if you keep your peppers, well watered, they will not be extremely hot.
For a saucy salsa, I love using mesquite smoked tomatoes!! I just pop some tomatoes in the smoker when I'm running something else, and some jalapenos because chipotle!

@@CowboyKentRollins hi Kent Rollins this is mark ostrowski what is your favorite food to make
Great video! If you are using store bought tomatoes, use Campari or nice looking cherry tomatoes. Makes a huge difference!
Don't Roma tomatoes work fairly well too? I use 'em often!
Man Kent those both look incredible! Love the channel, keep up the great work!
