Only just found out terribly sad
People stop complaining they made this version just to please the international fans. I think this songs stands out from the others in Eurovision and they made this version cuz people were curious what is the song about. Why complain when they will perform the song in Hungarian on the actual comeptition???

„To say the unspeakable, to write what no words can describe. This is what we need to do now. Last June Örs had been diagnosed with leukaemia and now we are deeply saddened to inform you that he passed away yesterday.
He wanted to open up about his illness last month, he had planned to release his first solo record this Spring and we were set to make the fifth AWS record and play shows again this Fall. During this period his bravery and dignity were exemplary.
His creativity, the depth of his lyrics and his presence on the stage will be greatly missed. Losing him is beyond our reach and he will leave a vast space not just in our lives but in the music scene.
Örs was the fire himself, warm hearted companion and friend, an inspiring person whom you could trust and always relay on. He was a true wonder.
We’re opening our arms and hearts to his family, his friends and everyone who ever felt touched even through his lyrics.
We were all very lucky to have had him in our lives and as much as Örs will be missed by us all, he will remain with us all, every day, as long as we can remember.”

The screaming in English truly gave me a Chester vibe. It made me cry, for real. Damn, I didn't lose a father cause I never had one anyway. But I did lose an idol last summer. It still hurts. I can't hear this English version again. When I hear the Hungarian version I am still capable of blocking those thoughts and I can enjoy the song but in English I could not, it made me remember and cry.
Thank you for sharing this for the international fans to know the song better. You should win this year but... We will see.

I didn't lose my father. I never had one. I remember every summer, the hope for a new beginning. I hoped he would come find me. That the new school year would find us together. He never did. The dream was gone at the end of each summer. I eventually found him but he had nothing to offer me anymore. Once again the dream was gone. The lyrics speak to me in a level I never thought was possible.

I can only tell you that if they don't want their children, they probably don't deserve us. Sounds harsh but it is the only way I could accept.

Toretto Dominik Nem is lehetne tükörfordítással megcsinálni, de ha úgy írják át, hogy az eredeti szöveg és mondanivaló megmaradjon az nagyon jó, és gondolom pont így is értetted :) csak sajnos rímproblémával kevésbé lesz kapós. De hálistennek, hogy úgy tűnik, még a külföldieknek is a magyar tetszik jobban :D

Well I never thought I would be listening all day to Hungarian songs!! Damn it they are good!! Of course I don’t understand anything but I was kinda trying to figure out the way they pronounce their words because it’s the only thing similar to my language. Hungarian language is pretty difficult to translate when it comes to songs, and the band made an amazing job by re-doing the lyrics here.
It's one of those nights and I'm in the mood, so if you are curious, here is the literal translation of the original (no rhymes, apologies).

* In Hungarian, like in many languages, there are words we don't say/write out, if we know the meaning of the phrase already. It's implied that the meaning is "you took from me", but it can also be meant "took from us". At the very end of the song, Örs sings "elvettél tőlünk", which means " took from us."
** They use the word "megfáradt" in the original version, which we use for something spoiled (like "megfáradt olaj" is spoiled oil), but "fáradt" also means "tired", so it has a double meaning: "Life is spoiled in my veins" and "Life has grown tired in my veins".
There are things, however, that are impossible to translate - the words they use are very powerful in their native language, and the way they press on certain syllables gives them a deeper, stronger emotion of anger, loss and eventual forgiveness.
