I've just watched the Paramount+ series of a A Gentleman in Moscow with Ewan McGregor and I loved it and it has made me want to desperately read the book. Love your description of the Barbra Streisand Book 😀
I have 2 books on my shelves by Amor Towles.."Lincoln Highway" and "Rules of Civility"....I wonder if they are as good as your " Gentleman in Moscow"...perhaps I should make them more of a priority. Good to have you back. Wishing for positive outcomes for your wife. Take care, man.
Oh, Michael I’m so sorry to hear of the sickness that ran through your household. I’m glad all are better and your back. I don’t love Barbra but I do respect her and admire her. I did listen to the audio. I’ve enjoyed it but now that you’ve mentioned it, I guess it’s true about not needing to know about her all her clothing. 😊 Looking forward to your top ten.
I _loooooooved_ _Ragtime,_ _Devil in a Blue Dress,_ _Streisand_ (as well as _Shanteram!_ You didn't like the love story? The forgery?) Ive never had Covid (I know)! Glad youre better, hope your wife gets well soon 🤱 Good one, Michael 🎉
Hello Dolly is one of my favorite movies. Liked to hear about the behind the scenes on that show. Celebrity memoirs can be a hit or miss. Enjoyed Born Standing by Steve Martin. Short book. Love the shirt.
I didn’t like Shanteram either. All navel gazing. I got through 100 pages . I’m looking forward to rereading The Manitou for September. I hope your wife gets better soon.
@anotherbibliophilereads I read a handful of Masterton's books in the early years. I fell away after a while. He's been writing all this time and has lots of books out there.
Good to see you! Sorry you had covid, hope you’re feeling better. Good luck with your new job!

Welcome back. Glad you enjoyed A Gentleman in Moscow. It didn't work for me. I think I will eventually pick up My Name is Barbra. 😊💙

They are definitely worth your time.
@musicroom7185 I want to read both of those, too. My wife read them. She liked Rules of Civility but she was unimpressed with Lincoln Highway.

@bighardbooks770 Ragtime really is much better than I expected it to be. So entertaining.

@@someothercharacter I love Hello Dolly. I haven't gotten up to that part of the book yet. They just finished making Funny Girl.
